My grandma had a 1980s Rubik's cube and gave it to me for my birthday a few years back. It's still in its packaging from when she bought it over 30 years ago.

It hurts because having sealed puzzles from many years ago is awesome but when you rip into them they are worth a LOT less, Example: A sealed 1980 Rubik's cube is worth around 150 dollars, when it is opened and used, it is worth around 15 dollars

Thanks for putting together this video. I enjoyed watching it. I had one of those Orb puzzles. I never solved it. Part of the problem was that it didn't turn very well at all. It appears your copy turns a lot better than mine ever did. I ended up selling my Orb on eBay many years ago.
There's a hobby shop a mile away with the vintage 1980's cubes for sale (or at least the same style and the same box. I can't confirm if it's original or just remakes. Haven't actually looked at the color schemes.) if you want one I can swing by and grab one.

Rubik's brand wasn't the only brand in the 80s, in Europe, Asia and Africa, it was more common to see Wonderful Puzzler cubes.
I think the mini cube is a 42mm Zhanchi, that's been restickered.

You should try to get the Rubik's cube instructions out of the box because I'm pretty sure it's a completely different method than what we do.
I have a 1980's Rubik's cube. It's the one that started the collection. It has been in the trash can twice cuz I didn't know how to solve it. In between 2011 and 2013 I learned how to solve it by watching Dan Brown's video tutorial.
Holy I did not know Ryan did this!! And I know what that mini 3x3 is, it's a mini cyclone boys that DG failed to unbox and we all got that at Canadian open in a gift bag and it turned so bad out of the box but if its lubricated it's really fast.
I've actually seen an original 1980 (or at least it said it was) rubiks cube at a store near my house. it was in the same packaging and everything. probably wasn't legitimately a 1980 one though, since it was only $20

5:22 trust me it's easy. I found one scrambled up at my grandma's house and solved it intuitively in less than 15 minutes on my first try

I have that original Japanese colour scheme cube! I learnt on that cube. It was my mums. She had a Rubik’s revenge aswell, although It was crazy stiff when we found it.

My science teacher actually owns one of the orb puzzles. Neither of us knew how to solve it at the time, but I think that using center commutaters it could be easily solved.

There is a Puzzle I remember playing with as a kid but idk the Name of it. I was curious if maybe you knew the Name and had 1. it resembles the mega minx[sp?] pentacle puzzle you opened in this but the edge prices dip in towards the center allowing you to spin the star independently in addition to spinning the sides... whole thing spins like crap and I may have been 10 so I worried about breaking it
