I thought the same thing adversity will sometimes change you in so many ways.
I don't know about anybody else but I cried during that audition. Her voice is stunning, powerful, passionate ,and it moved me to tears. You can she was waiting for this moment to make an impression and I'm glad she did

her potential is so crazy!!! such a strong pipes. She's a mix of Carrie Underwood, Jordin Sparks, Jennifer Nettles, and few other great singers.
like adelle and kelly clarkson too. she may just be another winner like Kelly back back way back in the idol day! . Unknow country singer in her home town.. Young ,shy and has no clue how really really good she is then.. BOOM! blows up!

@000001willy She’s good but there are so many talented singers with unique styles. I think she’ll get disqualified early. I also hate to see good people put all their hope and sense of self worth into one plan. The industry has many temptations in it and it tries to take down people with vulnerabilities like that.

That is my question too - how did it take her five years? Maybe she buckled down the last year and took a heap of lesson and worked on her technique??

Having auditioned for idol a couple times, it’s kinda luck based. Some of the best singers I’ve met didn’t make it past the first round of producers.

Her voice is just so raw and soulful. No notes, it just connects right through to the heart! I would listen to a whole album right now! Her range is huge, I didn’t expect her to start hitting those notes. She doesn’t even realize how good she is!!

So i just got finished layin my gbabies down & cleaned & watching the auditions i missed & lord This young lady has me cryin...ive been singing all my life & I put my dreams away many years ago when I had my sons. This baby sang my favorite song ..the song I've sang to my sons & now my grandbabies all the time...She is a contestant I can fully get behind bcuz she's a real representation of the reality of the world were living in...i dont know many families anymore that havnt been touched by drug addiction in one way or another...so I appreciate her ability to share her story...I'm proud of the mom for getting clean & im rooting for this child...love love love her. & as a vocal teacher for almost 20yrs...she's got all the goods...she just needs some lessons in breath control & timing...but I look fwd to seeing how she does. Great job sweetheart ❤❤❤

This year, I would buy a round, just to hear her sing. Next year, I'd buy a ticket at a medium sized venue - just to hear her sing. In five years, I won't be able to afford the price of entry to the staiums she'll fill. But I'll try , just to hear her sing. OMG what a voice.

I was in love with her voice from the moment she sang. Not only did she give her all she SANG her heart out. Imagine with that cry in her voice she has if she did the song cryin by patsy cline I think she would nail that.

She needed those years of dissapintment (and life lived) to get an inkling of just how strong and determined she truly is and can be...God said; "Not yet young lady; I'm still building on you!" And that is how she did not just sing the song, she did not just feel the song, but she took our hands and invited us into her journey and we felt the song with her!
