Lal Ded (1320-1392), known as Laleshwari in other parts of the subcontinent, was a Kashmiri mystic of the Kashmir Shaivism school of philosophy. She was the creator of the style of mystic poetry called vatsun or Vakhs, literally "speech" (Voice). Known as Lal Vakhs, her verses are the earliest compositions in the Kashmiri language and are an important part in the history of modern Kashmiri literature. She inspired and interacted with many Sufis of Kashmir.

  • Lal ded was the greatest mystic poetess in kashmir..She never wrote any vaakh/verse in her lifetime.. Everything she uttered from her mouth became vaakh in itself with deep meaning as ocean.. These vaakhs were passed to many generations in verbal form and then after many centuries these vaakhs were penned down by one of her disciples...I being a kashmiri Pandit pray her for peace, harmony and well being of the world.

Tears fall from a place, neither joyous nor sorrowful, but of pure astonishment at the simple majesty of the moment. Thank you as always for this intimate, loving, reintroduction to Self 💐🙏🌟
