Hi All, in todays video I take you along for a quick overnight camp and get some footage of the my pajero and Trent's pajero sport. This wasn't set up as a comparison video but I thought you'd enjoy seeing them both on the track. Trent was running road pressures whiles I had aired down a little.
to see the rear draw strut set up. head over to Bia 4x4 here.

All good. My middle name is Eugene, so don't beat yourself up. 😁
Hi Brett, Love all the Pajero content and has been very helpful over the years.. Ya been a bit quite of late and hope all is good in your world.. Hopefully there can be a Newy Pajero community catch up some stage to seen what everyone’s has been doing during lockdown..
cheers Mate. yeah, all we need is for this rain to piss off now , everything to dry out and the leeches to leave town. got smashed with them a few weeks back on a quick over nighter. even have had them in the back yard,
Hi Brett. Love your work & the mods your doing. I’m also in Newy area & have a 2007 NS. Certainly giving me some ideas to do to mine. Thanks also for the mention of Bia4x4 as I like that idea too. Hope to see you around the tracks or join you on any of your trips. Cheers Troy
Hey Troy, another of god's countries children hey. We're pretty lucky around here with so much so close. beach and bush. I spotted her video on facebook and she was happy for me to share. I think there would be a few intrested in doing the same. If I had the rear seats still in, Id be doing it for sure.
Thanks for the vid brett! how do you think the Sport compares to the Gen4 in 4wd such as what you guys were doing and in general? it doesnt look like it has the electronics package the gen 4 does (something we discovered with a mates 2020 triton GLX-R as well ,compared to my NS VRX)
Hi mate Really enjoy your content. You have some great ideas. Would love to go 4WD with you. Any chance of mapping out the track you did. Thanks.
Great content brett, great wheeling mate 👍
thanks Robbie, was nice to be out again
Nice 1 Brett!! Also chucked Bia 4x4 a sub too. 114 subs already!! Gotta say, the old gen 4's are better than the new kid on the block. Go the Paj!!!!
Great clip Brett! Cheers Steve
spanks old man
Brett Great video mate Looks like all had a great time out Cheers
Cheers Benny. Always good to get out mate. It wasn't going to be a video but everyone keeps telling me, more vids of the pajero off-road, so I I figured why not.
Hello Brett. Was the "Super Select" system sufficient at all stages of this muddy trip, or were you saved at times by the rear diff lock?
can't believe that he didn't air down even though he knew that the next days are going to be offroad driving. I sometimes air down for a 15 Minute drive on a rough dirt road. It's like a 5 minute thing and airing up at the next petrol station is equally as easy.
At the moment of this video, did you rise your suspension? Which tyres are usign on that time?
Do you ever use chains in Australia? We carry them around in north Europe mostly for snow, but hey are great in offroad situations as well.
At the start I literally though you said we've had a few "joints" out the bush but no overnighters 😂
I can neither confirm not deny your comments Jonny
@@DENMONKEY 😉
Hi , new to 4wd have 2017 nx . Can you advise What mode do you use when descending muddy rocky track. Do you still need to use brakes . Thanks
Great vid as always but was Surprised the hilux couldn’t make the first climb
a bit more right foot would have gotten him there I think. But the old girl has seen better days and Tony doesnt spend much time off road. so he's still getting the hang of it. Plus those cvs are on their last legs, if he came down at full noise I reckon they would have blown up pretty quick. would have made for good video though.
What size of your tires?
Good advert for letting your tyre pressures down , easier on the car easier on the track !! how much less hassle in the Pajero with tyre pressure adjusted
I love my PS, more than my forturner! Better stability, traction system and more confortable
There's no real Paj vs PS if Trent is running road psi , I am on the market for both these and although the PS went ok it would have been good to see what it can really do compared to the agent 4
Good video again Brett but the guy in the Sport needs to be told to lower the tyre pressures. It might be doable on highway pressures but lowering saves chopping up the tracks for others.
cheers Ian, I agree but the parts where we were getting stuck have a rock base, whilst they have clay over them making them slippery, most of the fines have been washed away by the recent rain. so the impact was minimal. point still taken though. I just do it because it makes it much easier and so much more comfy
😍❤👌✔👍
Good to see a Sport out there having a go. Still don't think they are as capable as the Pajero but it did well. Maybe it is a case of just needing to pick the right lines more. As for the Hilux, Well its not a Hilux Brett, Its a 4 Runner Surf even though I believe they are fully based on the Hilux. Actually quite like them. We will have to catch up one day for a camp mate.
Needs to air down as well, can’t understand why he wouldn’t and why the others there wouldn’t have advised him to
@@tonygersbach375 As much as I agree a lot of people head in there and don't air down. Personally its 25psi as soon as I hit dirt.
hey Mick, yes I thought of the 4 runner but figured it was much as muchness. I thought the front runner was just a luxy with the canopy on the back. who knows. def looking forward to getting out for more camping. if this rain pisses off for 5 minutes
I'm sure will read this and do it next time. I'll get video proof of it :)
I always air down because it makes for a more comfy ride on the trails. That said though, I run about 42-45psi on the road . so higher than most. I think trent was only around 35 or something. he doesnt have them that high. so there was likely only about 10psi between us anyway. same tires. hes on 17 im on 18.
Interested to know difference in tyres, type. sizes, type and pressures on Pajero and Pajero Sport. Paj looks like 17" ATs and Pajero Sport look like it has 18" Highway treat at road pressures. Climbing these hills tyre traction looks like the key to forward movement.
interestingly Phil , both have dyna pro atms on. The sport on 17 rims and my paj on 18. i think the profiles are about the same at 32". I did spot trents tires at one point and they looked very much like a highway tread with the mud on them. but they are the same as mine. not the most aggressive all terrain.
@@DENMONKEY Thanks for your reply. Your Pajero made it look easier than the Pajero Sport. Different driving technique / lines? Different tyre pressures? Traction control mod in the Paj but not in the Sport? Different suspensions? Love your work and projects. Installed an idoing head unit after watching your vid and very happy with it.
Mate great vid - it looks like the only stopping thing is Tyre traction.
dont tell anyone but he didnt drop his tire pressure down :)
For the Mitsubishi Shogun Sport, what spec snorkle is he using?
I'll ask and let you know
Hi Brett, which one is better you think? thank you
oooh, I'm not touching that one Richard. plus I haven driven the sport or been out for a real 4wd to test them. When we get a change, you'll see it .
Love the footage but I thought you said it was some light 4wding lol 😅
light for the pajero :)
UP THE PAJERO SPORT! 🔥
shhhh
Have you considered front Lock? Will it make easy climb
I haven't mate. Ive been happy with the rear diff lock and the traction control mod to get the tc working on the front with the rear diff lock on. It works well and hard to justify the money for a front locker . I don't push it that hard to really need one . would be nice, but it probably wouldnt get used enough for what I do
@@DENMONKEY what's traction control mod. P.s. has traction control by default or are you referring to something else.
Mate is that Pajero Sport lifted ?
yeah mate. 2 inch . iron man and king springs i think
Always remember brett you have to get home in the 4wd
You've even had the Mahindra up there Craig
The extra strain put on the driveline due to not lowering the tyre pressures is risky, not to mention ripping the track up for no reason other than laziness to drop pressures, not good.
Hi Pete, I run about 42-45psi on the road . so higher than most.So it demands dropping pressures as soon as I hit the dirt if I want to keep my teeth. I think trent was only around 35 or something. he doesnt have them that high. so there was likely only about 10psi between us anyway. same tires. hes on 17 im on 18.
Why mistubishi's off road performance is not considered on par with toyotas.
Because the guys who drive Toyotas pay a lot more for them and would not be happy 😁
Hi Brett. I've put my rear drawers on struts quite some time ago - link to the video : kzhead.info/sun/kqWiqqxxiHuQoZs/bejne.html

Pajero sport looks awesome, but that back end is ugly.
yeah Im not the biggest fan
10:10 Pig
haha I went looking for the pig in the video
@@DENMONKEY lol 😂
6:00 if he uses diff lock he has not traction control on front wheels
Hi mate, Great video, Any chance you could get me the specs on the roof rack setup on the Pajero sport. Looks awesome 😍
Can try mate
