  • The thing about the concept of this character is: There was actually a pirate bishop of the Isle of Mann. He was called Wimund (also spelt Wymund) and took up the Bishopric in 1100. And he took up piracy because, as the spiffing Yorkshire Tea drinker said, the Isle of Mann has an absolute garbage province. Wimund later got captured, ha his eye poked out and was locked away in a monastery in Carlisle.

    • My child, Kyrie Eos, inherited the Persian Kingdom and used the gold and armies of her forefathers to not just go from a Kingdom to an Empire, but conquer the Byzantines, the Arabian Empire up to the Nile, fight off a Crusade, and turn her culture into a Matriarchy, ensuring her children would rule as queens. This enabled me to become the terror of Catholics everywhere for the rest of the game. I think she and Magnus would've gotten along famously.

    • @@PasteGames Did this one have exploits? I can't remember as it's been months since I watched it. Given the OP starting character I wouldn't be surprised if it's not just intended game mechanics... with an OP character at the helm. It's like when he did that video of Mega Chad doing kidnapping schemes on people and declaring war on them just before it would finish, or something like that. That wasn't an exploit - that was a regular game mechanic; it's just next to impossible without an OP character.

      @jaxsonbateman@jaxsonbateman Жыл бұрын
    • @@jaxsonbateman the fact that the Jock Sparrow as a vassal couldn’t be attacked because he was a vassal. No stats required to pull off that exploit, definitely an unintended game mechanic. When spiffy shows exploits he might give himself a boost to make the recording process quicker, but he rarely shows exploits that require cheats or god mode to pull off. Just because he uses a boost doesn’t mean you need it to pull off a certain exploit. You might not do it to the extent that he does lacking the boosts, but you can still pull pff the exploit.

      @PasteGames@PasteGames Жыл бұрын

Not only do you get heavy cavalry as the norse but it is the cataphract but also there is the neat fact that adding the roman culture gives you +2 to heavy cav and heavy inf. If you don't understand why that is ridiculous understand that the Varangian Veterans are heavy infatry. They also happen to be built like trucks and get buffs from formation fighting

    • As someone has already pointed out he has spoken about it before in a few vids. Saying it's either from finding/getting tips from various forums or figuring it out himself using past knowledge and trial/error. He mentioned that a good starting point is to look for multipliers and how they're applied as if those are easily messed with things can go wrong very quickly. Also similar types of games or games by the same company often have similar bugs so if you know an exploit that works for one game it'll often work for another. I'm open to it but I don't know how interesting an entire video dedicated to him finding exploits would be. Searching forums, reading dms and trying/failing multiple times isn't exactly thrilling stuff and I imagine only a small percentage actually lead to anything. I'm sure he'd make it as interesting as possible but I think there's a reason the whole process isn't included in his usual videos.

    @shinythingster@shinythingster3 жыл бұрын
    • The default succession type, confederate partition. Each child is entitled to a certain amount of titles and it will create new titles for the other kids. From the looks of it, Speed Child got the Kingdom of France while Wonder Child got the rather pitiful Kingdom of Mann and the Isles. And by pitiful, I mean that he doesn't inherit the pirate troops and only inherits the Isle of Man land-wise. Wonder Child would have actually inherited better if Spiff conquered Strathclyde, the entire duchy north of the Isle of Man, the Suðreyjar, and the Norðreyjar and took their duchy titles before forming Mann and the Isles, as it takes the proper ownership of those duchies when formed. As it turned out, Speed Child got the better kingdom to inherit and had an easy time winning claimant wars against his inheriting siblings.

You have to constantly be making more gold and as time goes on it becomes harder and harder to keep making it, especially at the rate required to satisfy such a large crew.

    @voteZDLR@voteZDLR2 жыл бұрын
    • Impossible? No, you just have to make a LOT of money. At 3000 gold per crew member happiness maxes out, and at 1000 they’ll never mutiny on you. And that’s really all you need.

  • Those couple of months travel time are actually quite realistic; at the site of Torksey, a winter camp of the great heathen army, archaeologists uncovered a big amount of Dirhams that were actually minted after the great heathen army arrived in England. This means that the time it took for those coins to travel from their mint in Asia Minor to England took months instead of years, which is quite crazy for the early medieval period!

From there you can jump start your dynasty even further and by sending your heir to be tutored by any member of the highest developed/most discovered fascinations. At the same time you can build up your piety. rather than reform the astaru faith and then another generation rename it when making a new verion you can change to a new religion with similar ferver fairly easily, and then its actually a lot cheaper to make a splinter group of that religion than most of the astaru changes.

The 7500 troops from the elevation achievement offsets the penalty a fair bit, and you can make plenty of gold through raiding, so the gold penalty isn't much of a hindrance either. Only issue is the loss of buildings, which in the late game does make your army a bit of a wet noodle, you need an absolute chad to lead them.
