2 racks for a board… That shyt better tie my boots🤣

crazy that we can nowadays talk about a 1800$ board without freaking out
Somebody had to make the most expensive ride
Just managed to pick one of these up with a 40% end of season reduction. Still a ton of money for a board even with the reduction (1080 Euro), but had to go for it!
Wow, that's a killer deal. nice work!
Same here! Just ordered mine last night. Came to about $900 USD.
@@user-it4ol3ff5y Sweet!
@@user-it4ol3ff5y Awesome. I wont get a chance to ride mine for a while as the season is basically over in Europe. Can’t wait until winter again though!
Anyone know which Edge-angles are on the boards (Standard)?
Skeleton key was not mystery but XX because they had problem with production. very few mystery made it out
We had the Mystery Skeleton Keys at our shop in addition to the XX
@@SearchofSnowboardingthe few that got out, less than 50
I was not expecting you to say $1,800. That's ridiculous. I'm sure the board is awesome, but for 99% of riders out there, a board 1/3 the cost will bring just as much joy on the mountain.
@SearchofSmowboarding how does the mystery HTH compare to the regular HTH? Specifically flex at length, and more importantly torsionally. I like the regular HTH and have a mystery SK, which is stiffer than the regular. Thanks!
Flexing it in hand it feels very comparable to the standard HTH, if anything it's a hair stiffer and a little more responsive because of the construction
@@SearchofSnowboarding have you ridden both? If so are you able to foot steer the Mystery by torsionally flexing it?
@@JST_RIPn I have yet to ride the Mystery, it was too hot a commodity
Got mine for half off
Killer!
Interestingly, the mystery HTH wasn't the most expensive in Aus at about $2.3k, where the libtech cygnus was a whopping $3k AUD
Weird, the Cygnus is a few couple hundred dollars cheaper in North America
@@SearchofSnowboarding Maybe import taxes and tariffs getting stuff from US vs China for us. Maybe the local production of the Cygnus allows it to be cheaper for you guys
We get Burton way cheaper in Australia and New Zealand
Is Mystery Hometown Hero sort of like Capita Mega Death? Both super light, super premium, etc?
Exactly
Yes and no. Capita’s Mega Deth has zero fiberglass. It’s a core sandwiched by layers of carbon with a top sheet and base. Yes that they are both halo products or premiums. No because the fabrications are completely different. Capita Mega Deth has a core similar to their Mega Merc, and that board is probably the lightest board I knew before the Mega Deth. I have the Con Artist. It’s simply a Straight Chutter with a Methalon base. The Straight Chutter is a great board with the WFO base.
@@Anukuloushence why it’s called the con artist 😭
@@Anukulousis the con artist/straight chuter good for freeride powder days? Or the HTH is good enough for freeride powder days? Thanks.
@@keyniekwan7662 Both boards are almost about the same. The SC has a smaller tail, but the HTH has a higher flex. The SC is suppose to be a board that goes fast on groomer, and the HTH is a do everything-one-board quiver, but the HTH isn’t specific to one niche. They can both do pow well. The SC is said to have issues on carving because the tail might lose control. The flex on the SC is a 5. The Mystery HTH will just have Methalon, and that’s the justification for the cost. It’s suppose to be Burton’s version of Teflon on a snowboard base, and honestly, it a pricey premium that doesn’t live up to expectations. The WFO would do just as great, but Burton bases need to be waxed after each day of use. This year i am going to use my 22-23 3D Double Dog. I have the 164 and I am looking forward to doing some carves on it. It has a 7.0 m sidecut radius, and so it won’t carve as easy as other boards. It’s somewhere in between a Jones 6000 and 9000 Freecarver. 6000 boards have a sidecut radius of 6.2 m and the 9000 has a sidecut radius of 9 m.
Wow, fantastic review, I am very interested in this board, what size would you recommend for this board? I am 168cm tall, I weigh 68kg and I have a size 7 boot, thank you very much

@@goodpools thanks
Comes with the most basic graphic possible so nobody steals your board while your in the lodge. 😂
Weird how all the latest mystery's have had similar basic graphics
Maybe this is the HTH I should have tried. Coming from a Mega Merc and Endeavor Pioneer, the regular HTH felt heavy :/ The specs were good, but I wished it was lighter when I rode it. What did you think when you rode the Mystery HTH vs the Mega Merc? Preference?
Two pretty different boards, but the Mystery HTH is definitely lighter than the Mega Merc. I liked tricking with the Mega Merc more given that the HTH is more directional. HTH is going to be tunier and more fun to carve
For Natural Selection, I wouldn’t use this board. For me, Id go with a straight Chutter or Flying V Custom X. There’s a good reason why T. Rice dominate, and half of it has to do with his board C2 profile.
Why is that? All the other riders could have ridden that profile if they wanted to, but they dont.
Mark Morris beat Travis last year riding this board… 😂

@@Luffemonster I hypothesized that Travis rides the Golden Orca, in competitions, for the middle rocker. In 23-24, he will come out with the new Golden Apex Orca with the “anti-matter tips” to reduce swing weight or rotational moment of inertia from the center acting as a pivot point. Having the rocker at the bottom below the riders center of gravity allows him to torque the board in a twist-like displacement, thus making it easier to leg steer in small instances. So he can make small changes in direction, but especially so when going down a couloir at high speeds. Furthermore, if you watch most of the competition, they are mainly in powder conditions. The Orca is a directional pow-board by design, and you don’t need traditional camber to carve in powder. Traditional camber is better suited for groomers, ice and hard snow. Single Camber only helps them when you want to reduce the normal force from landing a jump, but it doesn’t help them with control in the pow. I think it’s a hinderance. The double camber from C2 which is double camber triple rocker, two camber pockets can absorb just as well as one big one if the board has a lot of carbon stringers.
@@Anukulous mark won in 2021… man didn’t realize it has been that long… Travis is def a beast
Is this board $800 better than the Mega Death?
Hard to say, but maybe not. I think this board is mainly for the customer where money is no worry. This is going to be more aggressive of a ride over the Mega Death though
HTH vs BSOD?
Tough call, HTH is going to be turnier with a deeper sidecut and more taper. BSOD is going to be a little stiffer and more of a charger. I love my BSOD
@@SearchofSnowboarding would you use your BSOD on a powder day?
@@manuelferran6881 Yup rode it on many pow days
Sure wish that top coat would last longer than two weeks… Burton says they are saving the environment while every other board last…
I've seen almost no issues from the top sheets of Burton boards from riders that put 100+ days on them
@@SearchofSnowboarding sent to your IG :)
I don’t Know why they don’t have a 158 cm size ???!!!
That's just the way they've also done the Hometown, 156 to 160
@@SearchofSnowboarding I think that they don’ t want a fight sales between models with same sizes ?
I don't deserve this.
You do. Just skip rent/mortgage and voila.
Easy as that haha
Looking more like skiers all the time with that price tag. 🤦♂️ wish this was a joke.
Burton is a crap brand!!!!! Not worth it!!!!!! Burton died when Jake did. A forgotten board maker that lost its way along time ago. Not a real boarders brand anymore. Hell never was!!!!
Interesting stance, what would be a real boarder's brand?
@@SearchofSnowboardingBataleon and Nitro imo
are u a skier?
@@knucklesnichols1283 hell no!!!! Just a core boarder!!!!!!
