Bayern Munich find themselves today in a very good position. Footballing success built on great business methods. But this was not the case throughout the Bavarian club's history.....
After their third European cup in a row in 1976, Bayern lost many legends in a few years. They had to rebuild a new generation. And with the appointment of ex-player Uli Hoeness as General manager, that build was accelerated.
Although there were some early failures, Uli and Bayern got the hang of it and slowly but surely got back to winning ways. Some European disappointments in the way didn't stop them from winning locally.
This is the story of Bayern Munich, and how they got back to the biggest podiums in Germany and Europe.

Hey guys. I managed to reupload the episode without any complications. The last one got blocked from UEFA. Hopefully, this one sticks around.
Hey can you make a video on how the modern real Madrid rose to fame and conquered 3 back to back UCL'S
Great video , one of the best football channels on youtube
Love your channel :) Hope you can make one about Bayern 2001-2013 also, those years were really defining as well
Can u do inter
Can u do Ajax success with Van gaal
As always this guy storytelling is like a journey it takes you with it
He has the same channel in Arabic same guy talking . Amazing videos .
It’s crazy how watching these videos is like watching the life and story of the entire European football itself!
i watched this while high. it was truly like a movie and took me back to my childhood. cheers!!
These documentaries about legendary clubs and figures are, themselves, legendary. Keep up the great work
Winning the UCL in 2001 by beating the Winners of the previous two seasons, Man Utd in the quarter final and Real Madrid in the semifinal. That's how Bayern climbed on top with style. 🔥
Thats the bayern way
Winning the Champions in 2001 was a huge relief for Bayern after losing three finals in a row (especially THAT final against United in 1999)
The funny thing about the 1994 season after Helmer´s "Phantom Goal" was that Nuremberg relegated on goal difference. Had Nuremberg accepted the 2:1 defeat instead of demanding a rematch which they lost 5:0 they would not have gotten relegated.
I realize this is a re-upload…don’t care, gonna watch it again 😁
A video on Leeds would be good, possibly starting from the 70's (league titles, european finals) till 2002 (relegation)...and then maybe a follow up episode on how they got relegated to league 1 and had to wait 17 years to come back to the top level. Also I've mentioned it before on your other episodes but a Nottingham Forrest video, and a video on Bobby Robson's career (taking ipswish to european titles, going psv, finding R9/Romario, barca, benfica, newcastle) would be brilliant. Great work as always, easily the most underrated channel on this platform.
Would love to see a documentary about Leeds!
he only does about 5-20 year periods.
@@mike04574 I don't think he has a set time really, it depends on the club.
Don't think Leeds coming back after 17 years is worth a video. It would be like Borussia Moenchengladbach coming back after a lengthy Bundesliga wilderness
*Relegated 2004*
46 minutes and 46 second to bring back lots of years history. excellent work as always
Coming here to say Rip To the Legend Gerd Muller❤️🙌🏽🙌🏽
This is beyond excellent. This is phenomenal work. One of the best football documentaries I've ever seen. It managed to bring back many childhood memories; nice and bitter ones. On the funny side, that press conference by Trapattoni is something I can't stop laughing on to this day. A great work for a giant team. Respect!
Wow, Trapp's media rant was so passionate. Man is saying it as it is. We lack managers like this these days.
Conte?
Mourinho?
Hope UEFA don't block this one Fahad, mate. Really appreciate your work and the dedication you put into it.
32:10 Collina consoling the Bayern players is cool clip. The greatest ever Pierluigi Collina. .
Muller has passed away. RIP Der Bomber.
The Man Utd vs Bayern final was edited brilliantly. One of the most chilling things I’ve seen.
I am German and we can all safely say: we all understood exactly what Trapattoni said in this press conference, VERY clearly
I think France 1998-2018 would be an amazing video A lot of things and chaos has happened in 20 years
in the midst of those 20 years of france's struggles. the 2006 france squad and especially zidane were top notch and then yeah. you know the whole story lol
wow, never knew the bundesliga came down to the final kick in 2001 just like the epl in 2012. I just heard it the champions league final that bayern won, but of course they won't tell you the whole story, so I assumed, "well they are the best german club trying to erase 99's memory". if that happened today it would get hyped just like the final day of the epl in 2012.
Epl 2012 doesn't come close to Bundesliga 2001
@@SoLazy100 seriously? Wow. I'll stop scrolling these comments and watch the damn vid!
@@SoLazy100 It kinda of is the same-a team thinks it's going to win title then it's taken away in last seconds(was on receiving end that year)
@@craigoliver8712 Not really no. There was a lot more happening than a last minute (last second) goal.
@@SoLazy100 There was alot going on in the Man City aswell as the United matches or does that not qualify in your eyes because neither of them are your team?was a lot happening in Geeman games same as the final day of English Premier league both leagues were settled with seconds left +i felt it when Aguero's winner went in (that devastation) like i felt the ecstasy in 99
Honestly, you've done a great job. As I count myself an official member of this great organization for over 10 years now, I am happy that someone took the effort to enlighten the club's history the way you did.
The clubs president (beckenbuer) sack the manager after a semi final then takes over for the final to grab all the glory.... Damn beckenbuer was ruthless...
My word I'm speechless I think this is your best work and I have binge watched all of these documentaries. Bayern do get alot of hate but man their mid 90s story is crazy as hell. The soundtrack you used for 2001 Bundesliga with the events leading upto Schalke and HSV was unbelievable. Even more dramatic than City 2012, dare I say. Also Ballack was a fantastic player but a serious bottler too lost so many finals/titles.
He was just incredibly unlucky but still a class player
A bottler is a players who disappears under pressure, Zlatan, Huguain etc Ballack was often the man of the match in the matches he lost. That man is the best German midfielder I've ever seen and is a legend at Chelsea and Bayern. Put some Respek on the Die Kaptein!!
OK, I admit that as an Aston Villa Fan, I only watched this to see Peter Withe's Goal. My happiest childhood memory is Bayern's offside goal.
One of the biggest takeaways from me in this doc, ironically isn’t even anything to do with Bayern, more how good of a coach Rehaggel was, wins the league for Kaiserslautern after just promoting them, brings Bremen their most successful period..he ended up winning the euros with Greece aswell, which was the only thing I knew about him…never knew his CV was that good until I watched this doc
Bremen under Thomas Schaaf in the 2000s was pretty sick aswell.. They won the German double in 03/04. But they were kind of unlucky in the champions league, 05/06 they lost in the round of 16 vs Juventus 4-4 on aggregate after 3-2 win at home and a 1 - 2 loss at Juventus. A season later they were third place in a pretty tough group stage with 10 points behind Barca (11) and Chelsea (13)
Under him, Werder were the most successful German club in the years 1987-1995 (two championships, two Cups, the Cup Winners' Cup, and two times runners-up). Rehhagel was a coach who was at his best with underdog teams (besides Euro 2004, he also led Greece to their first-ever win at a World Cup game), which is probably why him and Bayern just was a match-up that wasn't supposed to be. Still, in his "unsuccessful" 1995/96 season he laid the ground work for Bayern's UEFA Cup win, beating Nottingham, Benfica and Barcelona.
Lothar Matthaus never gets the recognition he deserves for what he did for Bayern
great documentary, really enjoyed the journey back on memory lane, I still remember a lot of the finals, especially the one against Manchester. But Bayern has used their defeats to become stronger and better. Thanks for the upload, outstanding work.
This is a beautiful story. I can imagine the pain they felt at Camp Nou against United.
I was there. It was brilliant for me, as a United fan!! It was our destiny to win it that season.
2012 final was even worse for bayern
I watch all the football documentaries on KZhead and this guy is easily the best. His understanding of football and the editing are amazing This is the second time I’ve watched this Bayern video
Awesome video, a joy to watch! Maybe you could do a video about Leverkusen not being able to win a title when they had a team full of stars 20 years ago.
I can't believe that's 20 years ago already
Oh man that stacked Leverkusen team, Hans-Jorg Butt, Lucio, Yildiray Basturk, Michael Ballack, Jurica Vranjes, Bernd Schneider, Oliver Neuville and young Dimitar Berbatov 3 finals and 3 runnerups 😟
As always.......the video is perfection. It's an actual movie with everything done brilliantly. You see decades of history unfold in front of you.
This is so amazing! That we have people like you willing to put in the work for this content - this was an amazing watch! I can't wait to watch more of your videos and follow your progress in this KZhead world!
Keep up the great work work man, the standard of quality on your channel is second to none
Ottmar Hitzfeld, the general. What a manager.
truely. coming from dortmund fan
Besides Rehagel, Klopp, Beckenbauer and Lattek...the best. Unfortunately he never coached a foreign team...
BALON! You've made me fall in love with the game once again. Brilliant work. Please upload more!
Thanks mate for this perfect documentary about FC Bayern, waiting for more and more.. Keep the good work, good luck :)
I need more episodes, my man. Absolutely in love with your content.
I`ve seen many videos from you in a row. Your channel is great. You capture football history beautifully. Thanks!
what a phenomenal documentary, hard to believe Fahad did all the work that went into this documentary all by himself. great work keep it up.
Man so so so much work in these videos....more power and motivation to u 🔥
Bravo this documentry was one of the best
I have nothing to comment except feeling awed after watching this channel. Looks like I have travelled back during the 70s during Bayern Munich reigned of the Champions league Cup , the ups and downs during late 70s, 80s, 90s and finally the early 2000s. The dramas, triumph , frustrations were all well presented .
Just watched all your videos today. You’re unreal!!!
these are always timeless much appreciated keep up the good work
your videos are unreal dude, keep up the good work,
i really like your videos man. very well told, very interesting and even well researched as you also state stuff like bayern dusel and fc hollywood which are little details that probably people outside of germany have never heard of. also....that penalty shootout in the end.... watching that live on TV was pure torture back in the day. felt like an eternity :D
As i always feel and quite evident in this documentary too in the European competitions no other rivalry or fixture is bigger than Real Madrid vs Bayern Munchen . Simply the two greatest teams and the Greatest rivalry in the history of European competitions. The Clasico of Europe This is coming from a Real Madrid fan after Madrid, Bayern is the club i respect the most
Do a video on Inter from Mancini's domestic dominance to Jose's treble winners
your wish came true
@@TheTajwaar yeah😁
Finally!! Thanks for another great piece of work
This documentary is extraordinary work. Fascinating until the last sec.
A beautiful story made...really appreciated
This is a wonderful documentary! Keep up the great work!
Great content as always. I always know I can trust you with my time.
A context video on Real & Atletico Madrid’s 2014 or 2016 UCL Finals would be awesome 🤩
the famous press conference shows ... Trappatoni did improve his german immensly before and during his second time with Bayern
I just wanted to tell you that your videos are the best football documentaries a man can watch anywhere on the internet. And it's crime FROM humanity that you still have just 20.000 subscribers.
He has 200k sub in Arabic version
Fantastic content from a fantastic channel. Keep up the brilliant work.
The story telling with perfect background music is captivating. Balon delivered as always!
What a documentary! Nice work about a legendary club.
your channel is so underrated keep it up💯💯🙏🏾🙏🏾greetings from zurich
Great storyteller!! Love the videos⚽️
This is excellent!! Great job on all of your videos
Bayern weren’t always as big as they are today in 1965 they had only 2 major honours 1 league and 1 cup so they experienced a lot of tough times in the past till they became the dynasty they are today
Yes, that part of their history is very imteresting as well. Imagine: they were a completely "normal" club until the early/mid seventies when they were in an extremely short period of time propelled to extraordinary heights.
@@jupphainkas3070 its all down to tthese three legendary players sepp maier, beckenbauer and Der bomber gerd muller without them bayern would’ve never been the power house they are today
Your videos are top ! A New masterclass ! There are so many more subjects I’d like you to cover... A specific episode about 95-00’ Parma, about Batigol, even Pier-Luigi Colina, the Best referee of all time... Anyway, great job once again... We want more !
amazing!!! and that ending wow i was at the edge of my seat
These documentaries are great! Great, great channel.
Wowwww your work is really amazing your story telling is captivating and provides deep insights into European football history
This is brilliant man, thank you
This is amazing work and storytelling
Your videos are simply amazing. They deserve way more views. Keep up the good work!
The Bundesliga was on pure crack at the turn of the century
the best time in history through was late 2000s early 2010s with Jurgen Klopp
This channel should get the most subscribers Great documentary, great videos
Beautiful, brings the pain of the memories back.
I'm rewatching this 🔥🔥🔥
Your content is amazing, i feel bad that not so many people see this
Congratulations, this is best job from your channel. You are amazing, but in this time you are special.
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS!
This guy is a LEGEND. BEST CHANNEL ON YT
I just had to subscribe. Beautiful work. Love from Zambia🇿🇲
World class documentary! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Keep going your content is very interesting and your storytelling is magnificent
Amazing production. And what a story. I was so sad for Kuffour in '99
Amazing video. As a Bayern fan it give me goosebumps.
a chance to watch this again! big fan!
12:49 Lothar 😍 the reason I became a bayern fan when I was 6-8 years old. I'm now 37 years old and still rocking Bayern in my heart, through high and low (and we've had many many lows), Bayern will always be my team 😁 I remember saving a year's worth of allowance money to buy a jersey. I asked the shop keeper for largest size. The short sleeve was to my wrist! He gave me a hat for free. That was 1998 and I was 14. I still rock the jersey with the OPEL logo today 👏 Mia San Mia ❤️❤️
I just wanna say, for the amount of work you do hopefully in near future you get tons of subscribers.
respect man you are a genius :) i loveeeee this game
wow, just wow. great story telling. thx man
40:29 Just like what happened with Bayer Leverkusen in the year prior, will stay in my memory forever...
May God bless you and your work... This is the best
great work! especially the bayern european cup trauma and analysing them...
These are so well done
Quality editing and background music is just fine....Thanks.
plz make a liverpool 1992-2019 video.. your works are mindblowing, i started with your invincibles arsenal video yesterday and then watched em all. marvellous...keep going brother
What a wonderful documentary!
Danke ! Superb research. .The story and success of Bayern is closely linked to the entrepreneurial skills of Uli Hoeness.... Taking charge in the late 1970's Hoeness invented the "Brand Bayern Munich " Historically Bayern have been hard done by loosing UCL Finals in 1982 , 1987 and most notably in 1999 and 2012
I'm from germany and I wish back those times from 1980-2000 especially as I am a Werder Bremen fan and we gave them quite a rivalry in the late 80s and early 90s. And the seasons 99/00 and 00/01 where Leverkusen and Schalke failed at the end where so intense those are finals of the Bundesliga no one here will ever forget. Even if I don't like them as Bremen fan you have to respect what Hoeneß built and made Bayern Munich the best and most successful team in german history. And he built today's success at those times, from the 80s to 2000
Masterpiece. Thanks for it.
This channel deserves credit!
Well done. Excellent doc.
I just found this channel, you make excellent videos with very high quality visuals! Very very impressive stuff. I would suggest to try and only use one type of currency throughout the video, as showing sums in DM, EUR, GBP in quick succession is really confusing and people don't know the exchange rates in older times like the 70s and 80s.
Love your channel man
