Police K9 Takes Down Hit-and-Run Suspect | Makes Man Sorry He Ever Ran
On November 20, 2021, K9 Officer Stone and his K9, Haywire, responded to a tracking request to locate a hit-and-run suspect who had pointed a firearm at bystanders. Officer Stone and Haywire joined a four-man SWAT team, comprised of Cpl Baldwin, Ofc Benesch, Ofc Buchmann, and Ofc Brasch, and began the search. This is video of what happened.

@@deffinez9651 for all we know the suspect lives out of that shed and that’s his clothes with his scent. If he was fleeing the police he probably went near his house because he’s familiar with the area.
Between their overpower sense of smell, and having to communicate to let the other dog citizens know he is on the job, what do you expect. I also how the other cops just stand there and let him do his thing.
One of my favorite "Cops" episodes had a motorcycle chase that ended in a dead end. The rider abandoned the bike and ran into the woods. The officers released the dog and then started addressing the camera crew. "We pursued the suspect until he abandoned the bike and for our safety we released the K9. We think the dog has him now." All the while there were painful screams of "GET HIM OFF ME! OW!" coming from the woods.
I will be looking for that one
I remember that one! It was great!
Man i would love to see that.....
Do you remember the title?
I remember that one. I also remember one, where they release the dog and it latches onto some gigantic perps forearm, so he picks the shepherd up and starts running with it. He started punching the dog in the head and it didn't faze him at all. He got fleeing and alluding and assault on a Leo charge and I'm sure many stitches because that dog was shaking its head and jerking down before the perp was able to pick him up..
I was getting amused by the dog. The way he kept finding things of interest to him. The cop says "your killing me right now buddy "😂😂

Cool that the dog knows commands from 3 different languages. "Stopa" (track) and "Revir" (search building) are Czech, while "Fass" (attack) is German, and "Leave It" is English, although the dog doesn't really seem to know that last one actually haha.
he said "stopa" (trace/track) , "k nohe"(heel) a "pusť"(release/leave it) which are all Slovak words (stopa is the same in Czech), I'm curious why he was saying so many Slovak words. Revír is also a Slovak word. maybe they're the same in Czech, I'm not sure about "k nohe" and "pusť" if Czech use those words, I would guess "k noze" but maybe they don't say it like that :D
he's also trying to say "ľahni"(lay down) 7:34 😂😂😂 he was not successful
Yes, that's right, the commands are either Czech or Slovak. To a native American, these commands sound neutral, so it is difficult to get to know Czech or Slovak. But the commands are not English. And Czech and Slovak.
@ maryv5815 Well, to the dog they are just words. Handler could use any words, like "bicycle" or "fish" or "seatbelt" and the dog would happily obey after being taught the right action for each word.
English is obviously not this dog's first language 😂😂
As a K9 officer you're constantly hoping you don't have a deaf person in area that can't hear your warning.

I just love k-9 videos, especially when the dog has a mind of his own. As a k-9 handler for 11 years, it's fun to watch the different personalities and training methods used. Haywire had a little rewarding time (which isn't great but if he keeps it minimal, it just adds to his personality). He even took a few taste tests of the water puddles as he passed (human cells will float and a good dog will use his nose and taste buds to follow a track or when searching water). And the best part was when his team-mate tried to call him off the subject and he was like, "No man, you come here." 😂
Much respect the the K9 handler. It's very apparent he cares about his 4-legged partner. Kudos sir
Absolutely amazing. He wasn't scared of cops with guns yet cried like a baby when confronted by a dog who wouldn't let go. Good job to the doggy.

The police K9 repeatedly stopping to pick up trash and then fighting with the cop telling him to “leave it” was the best part!
there is something about a k9 so willing to risk its life for their owner with zero question that gives me chills....so much respect
He got to chew a shirt, a pillow and a ball, all while being told he's a good boy. Job satisfaction or what
They are trained to think it's a game.
They have no idea they're risking their lives.

Dogs don’t understand the danger of weapons only humans. That’s the only problem. But it’s so badass watching these smart ass dogs haha
I love it when police officers say variations of “Good boy! Who’s a good boy!” when their dog catches a criminal, especially when their voices go really high 😄
That K9 is way too easily distracted and simply happy to be there. He was hilarious pulling out all the blankets!😂😂😂

@@OtaBengaBabalanga No, but police dogs will win any foot race.
I can't help but think that the worst part of being on the receiving end of some police K9 attention is having to hear the cops tell the dog what a 'GOOD BOIE'! he is for chewing on your sorry butt.🤣🤣🤣
That would be really humiliating to me...
🤣Absolutely agree!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
BOIE ?
Actually, the dogs are trained not to hurt the offender but hold on to his arm or ankle till police take him off.
I have a K9, and she sits while one of us gets a 5 minute head start, hiding in the thick woods. She never fails no matter how we try different methods to throw off the scent. You'd need a stolen bike or vehicle to actually escape a trained K9.
Having trained K9s, my belief is that this boy will do very well in the future, as he seems very young. Currently, he needs to work on ignoring distractions, such as food. For Working Dogs, using a tug/ball as the reward, rather than food, is a must. More practice and work in the field will help, as he clearly loves the hunt!
I've worn the bite suit and bite sleeve during training. You KNOW that you won't get hurt, but the sight of the furry officer homing in on target can be overwhelming.....
The amazing part is the more time in service, they refine their skills for maximum effectiveness; they're become more in sync with their partners, the K-9 seems to learn the quicker way of throwing the suspect off balance and maximum effective bite points. They are given the working skills, but they build on those as time goes on. When they nip at the target suspect, they nip 2 or 3 times and the nip that gets a strong reaction, then it hones in on it and clamps down on that area of the body (Hatwire was clamping harder with every resistance from that suspect). They are amazing and smart. Good ole days. Haywire zero'd in but handler didn't right away, was a tad slow catcing on his partner had the suspect (maybe cold fingers not sensing the steady jiggle/tugging from the leash) at the other end of the leash. Great job to both Haywire and handler, stay safe y'all. Mil/leo ret.
@@nbk9372 The dog is trained to first just grab and hold the suspect, but not do damage to the skin. It is like a firm grip with the hand, a bit hurtfull, but nothing serious. But if there is resistance and the guy wants to shake it off, the dog will take a firmer grip and give hard bites, if the dog gets attacked they go full battle mode, bite hard, take second bites and shake the suspect. It can end very bad with deep bite wounds, broken bones, nerve damage, lost fingers etc. So the amount of resistance determines the amount of damage.
You can't feel the teeth, but you can feel the force, right?

Many years ago when I was a working, but starving college student, a crankster stole my car with his buddy. They led the police on a long high speed chase through residential neighborhoods, trashing my poor car in the process. When I was called to have the car towed, I say the thief lying face down on the ground. His pants were torn and he had a dog bite on his butt. The officer said the thief was told to hold still and not attempt to flee. The dog bit the thief when he tried to run away, so the thief gave up and stayed there. Although I had insurance, it wasn't enough to replace my car. I saved money for months, taking the bus to work and school, before I could afford to buy another car. However, it did give me some satisfaction to know that the K-9 unit had bitten the thief in the butt.

You can't really get mad at them for their innate override switch going off sometimes, but I get when you are on a time crunch in something crucial, you can't exactly let him adjust his over ride on his time. He's a good boy and did a really good job. I'm always thankful for when their want to please Mama is more powerful than their over ride switch. Good boy!
The guy, who trained my dog, later got a job with Maryland state police training their police dogs. Not a bad career move, going from working at a pet store to achieving job security and government benefits by working as a police dog trainer.
I let my dogs (worthless labs) watch this video. They weren’t impressed. They just yawned and rolled over. Worthless labs that I love so much. ❤
I let my 2 cats watch this video. They weren’t impressed either.
BE NICE TO YOUR DOGS!!! DON'T TALK BAD ABOUT YOUR OWN DOGS...GEEEEZZZZ
@@hildapompa4236 Maybe you misunderstand. I love my dogs very much. They live and idyllic life for dogs. They have 300 acres around the house to run free and they get to sleep in the house if they want (they always want out to bark at the coyotes which is the only time they actually bark at intruders). They are our babies.
Haha. Love the comment
@@terryKessler42719 I don’t know how you would impress cats. They’re kind of above all this.
LEAVE IT! 😂🤣 That dog was having a blast picking up trash!
The dog stealing stuff from the shed about killed me
Haywire said you told me to find and I did. Thing is he wanted to hold onto that bite and didn't even tell anyone, lol...
Suspect either kicked and Haywire just reacted instantly. His partner probably had cold fingers and wasn't sensing the tugs, strain and jigs on the leash (could see his gloves were getting soaking wet).
finders keepers.
He had his mouth full and couldn't 'talk' 😁.
Taking a bite out of crime
Great 👍 comment 😂JT.Lol😂
What a gorgeous dog! :3 I’m glad he got better!
K9 like is like dad will you just let me do my fluffing job!" LOL cause tht k9 was on it..
It’s truly amazing how our K-9 unit & officers work together.. all be safe out there 🙏🏽🇺🇸
I mean K-9 unit dogs are technically officers😂tbh. You would even get charged for counts of shooting an officer if you shoot the dog which is great because dogs are risking their lives. Also their handlers are officers as well and spent time/came into the job with patrol or other units and switched over to handler I would presume. They are all officers of the law.
As he's choking yelling at the dog doing his job...
You do know that other countries have these units as well don't you?? This expertise is not unique to America.
@@adoculos4521this video is shot in America 🇺🇸
@@jasonww2612 So what? I know that!!!
What a good boy Haywire!! Of course his human partner too!! 🐾🎖️😘🇺🇸🙏 Stay safe out there all law enforcement/K9's!!!!
The dog constantly picking up trash and his handler getting upset about it was awesome!
That K9 don’t play 😂😂😂
If you are a perp, here's some advice, the cop with 4 legs will ALWAYS find you. And screaming OW! is unbecoming of your toughness.
Amen
I love this video. I guess it doesn’t matter if you’re an amazing K-9 or not you’re still just a pup on the inside. Made me laugh when he brought the sheet out and wasn’t going to let it go🤣♥️. Great job ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
Thank you for your service this was so cool to watch!
If only everyone could have the same enthusiasm as the dog to do his job. As a human, it has to be satisfying to see the dog do his job.
Gotta appreciate that dog a little more, he knew the guy was there a solid 60 seconds before they ever saw him
Props to our boy, I owned a German Shepherd from police trained bloodline, she was my beastie ❤, passed away several years BUT I miss her EVERYDAY.
❤
He’s a very good boy! ❤❤❤
As a dog trainer, that K9 handler needs to do some work with that dog with staying on task and obeying verbal commands. But the dog did his job great when the time came! 👍
Yes, and the dog only bark when they found the suspect. Here, unless the guy scream, they do not know what happened. The dog should only bite if the suspect resist or try to fled. Times have changed. :\
Oh wow! I did not know that the k9 need improvement with staying on task if it wasn't for your brilliant dog training experience. I would be totally oblivious if it wasn't for this comment!!
Yeah. The dog is still a little green? Or just haywire. He got a lot of *leave it* commands and I'd be all kinds of happy to hear the handlers break it down for us. Be very interesting to hear why they do what, and all the ins and out of K9 /Officer training. I know one thing for sure, that dog is a handful. The man is getting a workout keeping up and holding on to that beast. They got it done.
@@darlenelarochelle4011when I read green, I instantly looked at your pfp!
i love that humans have trained killing machines to see criminals as chew toys. the excitement of these dogs is always so fun to watch
Lovable pooches🤠
Agreed
They’re not killing machines 🙄 They might nibble on suspects like chew toys but they’re not obsessed with killing. He’s just playing
