if you been opening jars you should have known the technic to not embarrassed yourselves remember always tap the lid of the jar right in the middle with a spoon and you could easily open it
An even easier way is to use a spoon and pry just a bit under the lip of the lid, that releases the vacuum inside, saw it on TikTok many times.

Both the knocking and the spoon method work by basically breaking the vacuum seal of the jar so you can open it easily. However, I generally try to avoid doing that because this means that the jar is no longer airtight once closed, so whatever's kept in the jar will now be (slightly) exposed to the air. It's fine if it's something you'll finish fast, but if it's something that'll take a while it'll likely be losing moisture or slowly oxidizing inside the fridge so taste and texture will start to degrade.

I agree with you. It looks to be Europe, telling from the signs and license plates. Here in Germany, there is a thing called a "Rettungsgasse" where all vehicles move to the sides of the road to allow emergency vehicles to make it to the site of the crash easier. Other countries probably have something similar. And, you can get in big trouble if you use this to your own benefit, as are are essentially stopping emergency services to getting to the location on time. Seeing that this was a location where moving your car away to the side to allow the emergency vehicles to pass is very difficult, the people did the next best thing and removed obstacles obstructing the path.

That bird is called a Killdeer and is my favorite bird! I used to work outside and would see them doing that. I had no idea what they were doing, and when I finally found it online, I was blown away by it. They use the same tactic when the eggs hatch and they have babies nearby. If you see a Killdeer mother pretending to be hurt to lure you away, follow her so you don't step on their nest.

@@w1975b they only seem to burrow them in dirt, gravel, grass, etc, so I guess it just depends on the driveway. I don't know if you could move the eggs easily or not 🤷♀️
One of my favorites too! I kayak a lot here in Ohio, and see them every time. They have such a unique call. We quite often see them chasing off other birds. I haven't read up on them, but they seem to coordinate to maintain territory. There are certain places where we always see large groups standing guard and chasing off other birds. We also see them divebomb the water a lot to catch minnows. They're extremely agile, and watching them instantly submerge themselves from midair is a sight to behold. I imagine the shape of their beak is meant to help break the surface tension when they dive like that. They don't plop into the water, they just pass through it instantly and silently, then emerge a split second later and fly off with fish in their beak. So cool.

In a test of strength alone (if the hitting wasn't there) whoever opens it would still be stronger because even if it was "loosened", someone of greater strength/tact only would be able to completely open it. If you still don't understand because I'm bad at explaining, a small hypothetical dialogue between two hypothetical guys: Gus (loser): it's not completely your win because I loosened it for you Steve (winner): you were stuck at some point after "loosening" it and I managed to overcome that block, so yes, it is completely my win. Gus didn't have the strength to overcome that block (even if he loosened it a bit). Steve had the strength to overcome the block and open the lid. Therefore, at the common point (the block), Steve's strength was more than Gus. Ergo, Steve is stronger and the argument of "I loosened it for you" is weak af.

The older man, at his age probably everyone he knew and loved is gone, except for his children. It's something I try not to worry about, but even though I'm nowhere near his age yet, I have family and friends who are gone. I can't imagine what it was like for him to see his girl again from WAY back in their early years. They built a life and a family together. She may have been gone for a long time, but now there she is again for a brief moment.

Regarding the jar opening, sometimes when you bang the lid against the counter, helps break the seal, and makes it easy to open. That being said, I've seen the exact same thing happen without banging the lid against the counter (not to mention it's quite possible someone had also tried banging the lid on the counter beforehand),
at 2:28 that got me off guard. Quickly had to wipe the tear from my eye before anyone saw me : ) After reading the comments below, I realize I'm not the only one who appreciates life. Glad to see a lot of us are on the same page!
The fact that this bird pretends to be hurt and actively risks getting caught herself just to protect her babies is both very adorable/wholesome but also kind of sad. You just know that a few small birb mommas must've been caught and killed that way while trying to protect their little eggs.

I've had similar happen when I was in HS about the jar opening ... we were having some even for FFA(future farmers of America) .. a lot of the 'jocks' were trying to open a jar .. I came over there .. slapped the top of the lid a few times then 'pop' I was short for my age back then...
Another tip for opening a tricky jar is to put on a pair of rubber gloves, they added grip helps a lot! If it is still stuck pour boiling water on a plate and put the jar lid into the water for 10-15 seconds, the water expands the lid and combined with the rubber gloves on hand you should be able to open it instantly.
