    @Johntheheadache@Johntheheadache2 жыл бұрын
    • No it doesn't... FACT... unless it's a stand-alone machine still running its original software and games without ever having received updates! If it runs a modern browser and connects to the Internet (as does my 2013 8GB 3rd Gen i7) and also runs (or tries to run) modern games and software, it WILL be considerably slower than back in 2013. You, however, are either ignorant of this fact or oblivious to the slower operation of your computer. Maybe it's because of your age? If you were just slightly techy, you'd KNOW it was slower 9 years after purchase! And if you're honest with yourself, you know it's slower these days... still running, but slower. If you STILL think it's "lightning fast" and "works as fast today", I shan't debate with you... nor do I with flat-Earthers.

  • Finally! An answer that makes sense to the novice! (at least to one who wants to learn) What I got was Core i3 was your basic model with limited options, low buck and best gas mileage. Core i5 is a has a more luxuries right from the factory, generally handles better on the information freeway, has a turbo added on for a burst of speed if you need to crunch some big numbers and can be ordered with a bunch of extras that will up the price. Core i7 is the big engine that was imagined for use on the German Autobahn. Even in its basic configuration it is a power hungry beast and is always looking at you to add more ways to try and reach that imaginary top speed of the internet highway! In business mode it will go though a battery in an 65 minutes all the while urging you to check out the gamer on that site that is kicking ass now that you left at 4:30 am this morning! 😂😂

I think that in the future games would need more cores and threads to be more efficient, some games are already going in that direction but the thing about the future is that you never know what will happen, so lets just hope intel brings a bit more competition into the game because that can only help us and it can’t hurt us.

You would need to go back to 1955 (in a DeLorean I guess) to the courthouse clock tower in Hill Valley, California - be there at 10:04 sharp. And if Doc doesn't mind, you can connect to his contraption and use the processor at least once...

  • Reasons for crazy fast computers: - Bragging rights (some people stroke their ego's more than themselves). - Burning up the budget before the soon to be Ex-wife/husband gets it all. - Because your not a gamer unless you have at least 100 times the PC power than the newest game needs. - Because Mr. and Mrs. Jones next door did it. - Because the TV screen says you should do it. - Because those pesky internet ads hypnotize you into it. - You're a PC parts collector. - Because who doesn't have at least 110 active windows open at all times? - You use Google Chrome. - You run a very dirty background on your computer. - You infect your own computer with more viruses than the internet. - You do professional graphic design (something that actually uses the power of the computer). - You do industrial automation. - You perform high folding mathematical computation.

  • An i3 is like a four cylinder engine. It's nothing fancy, but it's efficient and will get the job done. An i5 is like a V6. It's a good middle ground between power and efficiency. An i7 is like a baseline V8, lots of power, but not as efficient. A core i7 Extreme is like a Mustang GT or Camaro SS. You get it because you want the power just for the fun of it.
