  • I think the key for Milkins is that now he is playing without fear vs top Players. However ability to control the mind at key moments is imperative. Especially resetting his mind after the lucky positional shot from brown and then again from red to pink. I felt his mind was still in the past at that point. And stayed there for too long after…

    • Bit of unwanted side probably. It'd send the cue ball a fraction left and then the object ball hits the yellow. Playing longer safeties from near the cushion is difficult under pressure.

  • Well, Ronnie, very lucky to win this. I wonder if his heart is still in the game, after watching his documentary you realise just how high the stress levels are. He's been at this for a long long time now, a lot of players are very good. Cant see him winning if he's playing with his mind somewhere else. All I can say good luck Ronnie, couldn't have been much fun here today. You can tell the public still want him to win.

  • I think we would all love to see Ronnie win on Sunday. There’s a couple of people who could stop that happening. Hossein is playing well and would love to beat Ronnie. Ding is playing well too so it’s going to be interesting to see who will be victorious on Sunday.

    • On form shown so far I'd have to agree. I suppose the unknown factor is whether Zhou feels any extra pressure (unlikely, he's having a great season) and whether Ronnie can go up a gear or two because he'll know he needs to.

That's what makes him the best front runner we probably ever had, but, recently after hitting the front and going away, then allowing his opponent to come back at him. Mcgill obviously doesn't count.     • Ronnie was 37 points ahead, with 31 points available. That’s a very strong lead, but not untouchable. Milkins was trying to snooker Ronnie because he might get 4 points if Ronnie misses one, plus perhaps a free ball: that might have won him the frame and the match - of course he would play on. And even without a free ball, a second Snooker would not have been impossible. Ronnie on the other hand was trying to snooker Milkins when there was no obvious pot available.

  • They both played such a poor snooker today, that it would be fair if not one of them get to the next round. Still can't believe Thepchaiya lose to Rob in the first round. If he played against Ronnie today he would easily win. But it's ok, there's another Chinese in another QF in front of him, I'm sure it ends for Ronnie just like at the last UK, if he doesn't start playing the way he can play!

    • That was a normal amount of mistakes for any match, they were just accumulated fast in a very attacking fast paced match. They both had a 91+% accuracy which is really impressive at that pace. I hope that we see many more matches like this and not slow negative matches
