  • The coyote discussion in this episode was very helpful and informative. Thank you Amy for everything you do! This is one of the many reasons I’m an MUCC member.

  • Proposal G was passed by a vote of the residents of Michigan. There's no way the NRC should be able to circumvent the will of the people.

  • Good show. Happy to see the segment about the coyote situation currently in Michigan. As mentioned, this is very alarming and I feel it set the stage for other hunting, fishing, and trapping rights to be taken away. If the population was at a level where it was deemed necessary to reduce the season, and was done using scientific methods other than social science, then I would be in agreement with the season change. I know there is way more to this situation than what is being discussed. Glad to see MTPCA and MUCC challenging this. Thank you.

  • If the NRC is going to start making decisions on public pursuana then the image in the majority of fisherman around the state by far is that gill nets catch way too much by-catch, therefore should not be allowed.

  • I still find it alarming for the ban on the hunting of coyotes. Even for only 1/3 of the year. No the females don’t leave the den for the first few weeks however the do join the males when they get their strength back. The males that are leaving the Dan‘s while the females are in the Dems are going after the fawns. I’ve hunted in Michigan for 50 years. I’ve watched the deer heard plummet! There are too many predators on top of the diseases they are exposed to now and I do include predators as the cars and trucks on the roads. I’d like to know more about the meetings to help keep an eye on these committees that are making decisions that affect my life personally.

  • Thank you for the segment on the coyotes. The only thing I have an issue with is you have a bunch of people that don't buy a hunting or fishing license to preserve money for our great state wildlife. But yet people that contribute to wildlife are not heard. This is where it becomes alarming. The other funny thing about this is a conversation that was brought up in March and already put into place. But to get to new hunting or fishing regulations can take years before they're ever put in place.

  • The NRC doesn't even think hunters rely heavily on our deer hunting season or small game seasons for subsidence for our families, if they did understand this the Michigan Constitution would have an amendment added for the citizens of Michigan to have that right. Which we currently do not have the right and therefore the NRC can be persuaded by feelings and lobbyists to change hunting and fishing rules as they deem fit.

  • Your example of other wildlife that are hunted is very miss leading. You said we bass fish year round and we do, but you failed to mention that during the spawning season it is catch and release. Hens are not hunted during turkey season and deer are mating but they don't give birth until spring when the season is over. No reason to hunt any animal when they are trying to raise there young.

  • I'm wondering if a coyote comes in and tries to attack turkey decoys, can it be considered a nuisance? Michigan regs get more nonsensical every year...too much input from the non-hunting public. The fact that we are one of a handful of states where a dove is not a game bird, and the rest of them are basically the tree-hugging New England states, is a sad testament to game management in Michigan. When every state that touches our border has hunting opportunities that we do not, it reflects very poorly on our wildlife management system.

  • The natural resources commission needs to be dismantled for the absolute protection of our wild game and our families

    @samuelbono4601@samuelbono460123 күн бұрын
  • The natural resources commission has no clue or no public input on the coyotes hunting season . They have no actual clue how dangerous these animals actually are to livestock and domestic pets and animals dangerous to wild animals and to humans adults and children... I have had more interaction with coyotes within city limits... Then I care to describe... Coyotes have to be dealt with all year round so we can manage the population carefully. The natural resources commission is made of from people who have no interest in protecting or conservation of the land and animals .. the natural resources commission are paid for the animals rights advocates.. but they don't actually understand why it's important to manage wild animals in such away.
