  • Y'all are missing out on that HUD. I bought a cheap $25 one off Amazon a few years ago and it's my favorite device in my car. Plug it into the ODBII and you're ready to go. They're even adjustable for different tire sizes throwing off your speedometer. Got me out of a speeding ticket once too! My dashcam picks up the refection on the windshield so I was able to easily prove my speed when a cop pulled me over instead of the car that was actually speeding. I highly recommend one

  • When driving for a food delivery service (DoorDash, GrubHub, etc) where you're potentially in and out of your car a lot, the 'wireless charging' phone mount is super convenient. I have a higher quality version that mounts to the dash and I love it. I have to bring my phone in with me to verify/mark orders, so being able to just set and charge/go is great. It's not even about saved time, it's just the convenience. It looks like your team went with the cheaper one for budgetary reasons (which I totally get), but there are $30-$50 options that work very well and even support wireless fast charging (note that it's wireless charging to your phone, not a wire free mount). You need to really look at the reviews though because some of the cheap ones flop or don't charge well, as seen in this video. What did you really expect from a $20 mount with a 3 star rating though? Your team should've known better, which is a bit disappointing. If a follow-up is done in the future, definitely go for a higher rated option and give it a go (try the dash mount vs the vent mount too, as each has their pros/cons). Great video overall, but I do see your team did the SAME thing with a few items hoping they'd fail for content. Up the budget and you won't be as disappointed (maybe still a tad).

The windshield is actually specific if you have the option and when you get a new windshield and if they put the wrong one it doesn’t mirror the hud and you can’t see it. Obviously the charger itself has to be plugged in, but the actual charging method itself is wireless because it doesn't require a wired connection between the phone and charger. Why would this not be considered wireless. In one situation you simply place your phone on top of something to charge it, whereas the other requires you to plug a wire into your phone. Also, wireless chargers offer no benefits over wired chargers? What about not having to plug your phone in? My car has a wireless charger and it's definitely more convenient to set my phone down on it versus having to plug and unplug it every time I get in and out.

It can run off GPS if your vehicle doesn't have OBD2 (hence GPS in the title). However, OBD2 is much better. I have the same feelings about the HUD. The text is quite small, especially when it comes to the cardinal directions, and the tach is delayed enough to make it useless. If you want it just for speed, it'll do the job.

Drive mode, speed, cruise control info, lane assist info, current speed limit (based off road sign recognition) and eco-meter (or RPM's if you so choose, don't see the point with an eCVT transmission though), all directly in your field of view. On top of that, the bottom of the display shows urgent messages like risk of icy road conditions, low fuel warning, tire pressure warning or simply radio info when skipping songs or changing radio channel. But as mentioned its harmful to lungs, so best way to use this thing is to set it up over night and while you are at work and when getting into car open all windows and blast the fan on full to remove ozone from the vehicle. Though i'm pretty skeptical on how much ozone this thing can produce. 12v should be enough, but it wont be anywhere near powerful as the mains voltage devices that car detailers use and with those there is proper lung damage danger, with this... maybe over time if it even produces ozone that is...

As he had just dropped off a limo/car service client and was en-route to pick up another, I think he may have been bending the speed limit slightly. Being late was a pet peeve of his. So many LEOs have died in car fires in Panther Platform CVPIs when they make a traffic stop and are plowed into from behind. FoMoCo has faced many lawsuits from the widows. My friend wasn't at a stop like the LEOs typically are. I have pictures of the charred remains of the car he was driving.
