New footage emerges from pro-Palestine demonstration as Met Police under fire

New mobile phone footage has emerged which gives a fuller picture of what happened when a campaigner against antisemitism was confronted by police at a pro-Palestine demonstration.
The Metropolitan Police issued two apologies last week after a video clip was published showing Gideon Falter being described in his heated conversation with an officer as "openly Jewish".
Mr Falter subsequently called for the resignation of Met Police chief Sir Mark Rowley.

If it’s good for one side, it’s good for the other, and to par rest someone because they’re frightened there presence will cause a violent reaction, shows the real problems, policing out of fear and hate rallies being allowed to go ahead because politicians and police have lost control.

And sure, he's chairman of the campaign against anti-semitism. I know it's hard for you when jews stand up for their rights to not be violated for being jewish, you know, being an anti-semite yourself, but deal with it. I think it's damned logical that someone like him would be at demonstrations like this to point out the anti-semitism (not anti-zionism) and take a camera to show the world... and not by talking to these pro-palestinian supporters, but just by being there and letting them visually know that he's a jew. If those supporters really aren't anti-semitic, there would be no problem and Gideon's film-crew would be there for nothing. But that didn't quite happen, now did it?

  • Sunak got it wrong again and has now gone very quiet. As for Gideon he and his far right Iranian friends have been doing this for months. He made clear that he was there to take back the streets and stop the peace marches. The right wing Tory press are on first name terms with these people and they too have had a role in this, when will they apologise?

  • Stopping disorder by protecting people and their property is the Policeman's job. If you want referees for riots and fights find someone else to try and control the public. If that man went across the street and a big fracas broke out, the Police would be blamed for not protecting people.

  • A police officer would not be doing his job if he did not protect a football fan wearing all his team's colours from trying to walk into a rowdy section of opposing fans if there is clear feeling of antagonism between them. They have to act to protect the individual first, even if the individual wants to put themselves at risk. It is not bias or discriminatory to protect someone against their will . Just look how they arrest drunk, drugged, or otherwise unhinged people. The law says they can use the law and all reasonable force necessary to protect people from harm.
