Once I traveled to Israel. One day we ate lunch on a beach by the Med. There was a HUGE Roman aquaduct along the shore, which provided shade for our bags. The water was crystal clear, and a breakwater made the waves calm. I wanted to climb out to the breakwater, and as I looked down on the rocks I was climbing over, I saw they were not boulders, but chunks of an ancient wall. The breakwater was also made of this wall. It was one of the most breathtaking moments of my life.
Can't believe Chrissi beach in Crete is not in the list. The sand is made out of shells and it is the paradise on earth.
And Voidokilia beach too. Gialova Greece.

I’ve been to the bomb blast beach it’s insane there’s so many tropical fish and the water is crystal clear, it’s crazy swimming thru the small cave to get to the beach. I completely remember it in 2015.

I know Glass Beach up in Mendocino County! Awesome place to visit, no doubt! I still have collections of colored, or oddly shaped & silky smooth glass fragments from there. Back in the mid to late 1980s.

For me Greece and Philippines has in general the most beautiful beaches in the world so many of them, are gathered in to this country's, . And I'm not referring about, the touristy only beaches. Yeah in greece all of the islands have beautiful beaches and in my island chios we have a beach where a volcano erupted more than 2000 years ago and all the rocks are black
I had the opportunity to see the bioluminescence plankton on Akia Beach in Japan when I lived there in the 1960s.
I have also seen this amazing phenomenon at a place called smiths beach, Phillip island, Australia. It was purely by accident, it was just after sunset, and my crazy dog was running around like a nut!. As she was running, kicking up the sand, my partner and I noticed this almost fluorescent glow. As we then began to kick the sand, the beach started to light up like we were throwing paint everywhere as we scattered the sand around us. It was incredibly beautiful and I’ve never seen it since so, I consider myself pretty lucky to have experience this.

I have been to number 4 and I can tell it is amazing. Just getting there is a great experience, you have to swim under the water for a couple of seconds!
When the number one beach is just a random American beach, that's the only reason. As a person studying to become a geologist, I can tell you that garnet is common in beaches around the world, they are simply included within heavy mineral sands and can occur almost anywhere with such minerals.

I have went to Benagil Beach in Portugal by swimming, it took me like half an hour to me, my girlfriend and my sister to get there, its stunning!!!

I can add that Pfeiffer Beach has super loose, steep sand. It felt like I was on a hillside amongst the breakers there when I visited, with no footing in the water, it was like quicksand. It seemed to me like a lowkey dangerous beach but maybe the danger helps make it so gorgeous and romantic...
I hope you also add the dead sea on the list, it is very unique and no other beaches like it in the world

personally, because I've been there I would say Whitehaven Beach is #1 , as the commentator said, "if your looking for crystal white sands & turquoise coloured sea there is simply no better place in the world to visit than Whitehaven beach" On top of that, very few people go there , It is pristine & has perfect weather 9months of the year!
There's also a pink beach here in the Philippines...

I went to Harbor Island in 1980, having taken a banana boat there from Eleuthera, and the only people I saw were the couple running a little guesthouse. It was lovely.
