In this video I made a LEGO Minecraft Redstone piston that is mechanical and actually works. It works with a Minecraft Redstone lever on top that "activates" the piston.

  • As suggestions for another, if you decide to later on, would be to have the telescoping shaft, like in Bedrock, which should allow it to proportionally extend as far as it would in-game. Along with racks and gears in between, for the even movement, you should be able to have it motorized, though it may be slow due to the weight and taking into account the mechanical disadvantage. Perhaps having the lever control a gearbox on the inside to extend and retract it with each of the connected gears moving the rack(s) out of reach of itself at both of the furthest points to ensure there wouldn't be any damage caused to the pieces, as the motors continue to spin, while the other gear, which would be disconnected from the motors in the meantime, is still engaged to the rack to move it back when it's switched. I may be overthinking it and it could be expensive to get what you may not have already. Good work, though.

Maybe changing up the background in the second one or making it clearer that it's Lego would help!
