Follow the first two out of four chapters for free: the block out and the ZBrush highpoly course!
This is the first chapter of the MACE tutorial where we set up our reference image and then create a block out version of the mace. This model serves the purpose to have a base mesh that we will import to ZBrush.

  • So glad to see another tutorial from you Tim. I can’t say how much your time and effort means to me. Also how do you keep the “edit geometry” window on the side like that? I always have to scroll down and it takes a lot of time out of it when I follow your tutorial. Please let me know!

    • Hover your mouse to the edge between the command panel and the viewport, hold and drag it to your left, it will divide the command panel to 2 columns.

  • Hello Tim, amazing tutorial! I have one slight discomfort. When i press Alt+X to make my object transparent, in the new versions of 3ds Max 2021+, the object is not transparent enough for me to have a good view of my reference image. Is there a way to make my object more transparent with alt+x, without reducing my object's visibility from object properties. I didn't have this issue on older 3ds max versions. Can you please help me? Thank you!

    • @@ChamferZone Thank you ! in my case I modeled the block from a screen shot yesterday (I have a good level with 3ds Max but a low with Zbrush). When the high poly sculp part will be completed, I would buy the continuation of the tutorial and that of the sword to approach the organic part of Zbrush and discover Marmoset Tools. In any case it is really an extraordinary job and I learn a lot in a very short time, your classes look very effective ! (Excusee my English level, i also improve it at the same time ahah ! )
