Completely unrealistic, the transmission didn't fail in the middle of the test. -One time owner of a Dodge Diesel Automatic, and owner of a Dodge Diesel Manual.
Unfortunately in beamng transmissions and differentials dont break, yeah its unrealistic but im Sure it will be added in the future, as well as Clutch slippage if a lot of torque is going through it which unfortunately isnt in the game right now
@@7_7_5 It was susposed to be half sarcastic... I own the Beamng... But realistically Dodge never put a good transmission behind the Cummins
@@J-1410 well i didnt get that but its fine, cant say anything about my experiences with dodge, where i live you dont see any pickup trucks
@@7_7_5 Well Dodge puts cummins engines in their pickups and, well, the motor is fine, but they haven't really figured out how to put a tough enough drive train behind it.

The drag tires with the dually fender flares really distracted me.

They need to allow the axle length to extend and move the tires out towards the edges
@@scottskinner577 they do, its adjustable to an extent on most if not all axles. with a number change in files you can make it whatever you want.

Use low gear for more torque and lock the differential for better traction
If he would have had 3.73 or 4.56 gears he would have had better results

for the 6BT it was the ransmissions fault
Looks like an old Ford in the front an old Chevy on the side and an old Dodge in the rear
Apparently the gavril vehicles in the game are based off Chevy dodge and Ford so that’s why
@@joshmanis9860 Yeah, Gavril in this game is a mish-mash of the big 3 American car companies. Kinda like how Ibishu has the Covet (reminds me of an 80's honda civic) The old Pessima (looks like an older Subaru Legacy RS) and the 200BX (Nissan 180/240SX)

My 2001 24v Cummins averages 27 mpg pulling 20 thousand pounds soo
steven moreno that's weird, I though they get 20mpg with no load but you must be a master at driving efficiently

My 1998 2500 with the 5.9 gets about 15 towing, thats cruising 65 and on 37s
I feel the manual transmission option would have been better for this test. The torque converter clearly just gives up while the engine still has more power to give. Also maybe instead of switching to drag tires, lock the front and rear diffs

Seemed more like the torque converter was letting it down shouldve used a manual or.upgraded the converter

I have this pack, there’s only one converter available for these transmissions and if he used manual he would of burned through the clutch
@@tyler56ford you can modify the in game files of the transmissions and clutches pretty easy literally just open the files and know what numbers to modify i never messed with the clutches much but you can easily change gear ratios and torque multiplication on the converter so assume you could easily modify the clutch holding power

so now we see, from this video, that theoretically, you would have to add a high power turbo, better injectors, and better cooling to a vehicle, and the effects of bringing said vehicle to its limits. obviously videos are made as such to answer questions and hypothesis and generate new questions. that's why no low range

As a 12v 5.9l Cummins owner I can say that it would have no problem climbing the first hill in 1st gear with a manual (NV4500) but with an automatic idk how that would turn

Should have changed the torque converter to a lower stall one.
The drag slicks and variable boost turbo both made a huge difference.
Try diesel drag racing.

for a couple of them engines you didnt need to turn up the boost all needed to do was open the waste gate a lil at a time and it would have only taken those by it self no extra boost
You should fully build the motors, like govenar springs, injectors, etc. They get well over a thousand horsepower and about twice as much torque

Somehow this trailerpack u r using doesn't work for me. Every trailer has no back tires and u can't put any on them. It just says Empty.

i didnt know the 5.9 was the oldest cummins engine for 3 generations. i mean the 6.7 is better but i didnt think the 5.9(3rd gen) would be such a tough little bastard

Beamng is best car game ever made.. so realistic.. no just crash test so car behavior, sound, different engines with mods this game is awesome
If you get meos drag parts mod you can get tires that have more grip you can even tune how much they grip up

2:45 drag slicks will not give you more traction on the road you have to heat the tires up to make them sticky and any wetness on the road will make you break traction fast

Copied this from a message I just sent to another person with the same question, but here you go. Most of the engines have different sounds, and when you go into vehicle config (CTRL+W or LSHIFT + W) and head over to the Engine Tab, you can change the sound by changing the exhaust manifold to something along the lines of Cummins Header. You can also slightly change the truck's sound by changing the muffler (Should just be under Frame) and changing whatever you have to MAGNAFLOW Muffler, which also gives your D-Series a shiny chrome muffler tip behind your right rear tire. You can also change the idle speed in tuning, but that just makes it sound weirder. Also note that the MAGNAFLOW Muffler works best with the 12 valve Cummins.

Used to have the same problem with a year old version. I downloaded again and it seems it's fixed now.

Why not lock differentials instead of switching to drag tires?
Mod seems to get a number of details wrong about the Cummins. I don't think the behavior of the engine is properly simulated, boost comes on too quickly and too hard. There would be nothing left of the transmission if the torque converter was working that hard going up the hill. I was also sad that the ISV5.0 wasn't included in that list.
I was really concerned for the driver on that last pull.

When you added a second turbo you didnt gain any torque but it made it up the hill. I think some of the stats are weird. Like the rpm gauge is right but the stats says 10k rpm or more. I dont get it.
The white box above the round rpm gauge is the turbo Info, what rpm its running at, how much boost it is making, how much backpressure it is creating and so on
The rpms never went past 3000 rpm and twin turbos usually just make for faster boost not high end booist,uunless its compound turbos then a turbo feeds another,compounding after mixed,not sequential

No such thing as a variable boost turbo, Variable Vane turbo and Variable Geometry are the turbos found on most diesels trucks
