In our new show we bring together people from the crime world, get them to an old London pub and see what stories they can reveal.
This week's episode is with two armed robbers - Ray Bishop and Noel 'Razor' Smith - who used to be robbing banks and post offices. They told us about their biggest jobs, ways to rob a bank, time in prison and regrets they have about their criminal past.

I have never seen a less effective bleeping of "Natwest" 08:55
i was wondering exactly what was the name bank that "Don't give a fuck of their customers"😂
Amazing stories. I remember Razor had a news sheet for prisoners which was a big help. Massive respect for both these guys.
Once again and absolutely brilliant interview. Thank you for these Ladbible.
Fantastic stories from 2 very well spoken men, more and more stories like this should be told to the world because it’s so fascinating hearing how much good people can do after doing so much bad Good luck to you both guys
Two good men who do have helped change the mindset of a lot of youngsters.
"Conscience becomes a fierce pursuer" Well said fella. Great interview. :)
loved learning about the evolution of armed robbery from the kosh to spray painting the guards visor. the breeze block hack is great common sense villainy. great upload. ta
I need Ray, Noel, Marvin and Bobby in a video together
Marvin is a idiot 🙄
🙌🏼💯
Nah drop marvin out
@@anthonyleigh4507 Yeah I'm not surprised Marvi has lead in his face.
To intelligent well spoken men who could of done so much more with their lives but through circumstance ended up choosing the path they did and ended up spending most of their life banged up, if thats not a powerful message to the youngsters nowadays not to go down that route i dont know what is.... Great episode 👏
i love these stories...amazing quality production
Interesting stories! These crazy stories are why I'm sitting in Texas subscribed to you guys in the UK... No one does this kind of thing. I'm watching, comparing what these guys did to Bobby's story and I think I see why Bobby is different. It's that Bobby made a business of taking care of the bad apples, not scaring civilians.
Who doesn’t enjoy a story about Razor?
Who is Bobby?
Bobby?
@@rukus9585 bobby cummins maybe?
@@VinylFrontier81 ah, I bet you're correct. Thanks to ya, well done.
Just brilliant. Thank you
I have watched a lot of ex gangsters say they regret their past and could see through them, still it’s all about the lime light… but these two lads genuinely took hold of themselves and look forward. Great honesty lads and well done 👍🇮🇪☘️🇮🇪
Thanks for sharing your stories lads. Thanks for organising the video LADbible.
Great interview gents thankyou!
That was an amazing interview 👏
I like the honesty of these guys.
These 2 guys have a sense of humility that I don't often see when ex criminals are interviewed
I like these guys! Great to turn the boat around and send the right message!
Heartwarming towards the end - lovely to see the men they’ve become.
Great chat insight to the oppertunities in the 80s as there was not so much money about .Great guys can see both spoke from the heart . Good luck keep up your great work be proud your honest
Damn this one was extremely good, keep it up guys! 👌
Noel's book is an absolutely brilliant read, not a nice read but one full of insight and reflection. Two absolute gents who I would love to share a pint with.
Whats it called ?
@@user-yu7sq5we9g A few kind words and a loaded gun 😊
@@user-yu7sq5we9g a few kind words and a loaded gun is one, It’s a good book. I’ve not read his others but I imagine they are probably good too
What do you mean "not a nice read"?
@@parsons15 Only one way to find out.
Great listening to some honest views, met Noel in whitemoor, a true gent.
Two interesting characters. Good to hear them both say it wasn't worth it.
Love it all the best have a fabulous new year Razor Mick Palmer now living in Spain 😎👍
I grew up in Grendon so it's kinda cool to see the prison get a mention and for it to be a positive one. People in the village were always vigilant and knew to listen out for any breakout but it's really not the kind of prison where a breakout would have been as bad as you'd have imagined. Look at the good it did Razor and Ray!
I think my uncle works there. Says they have to relive the crime they did and the triggers that cause them to do what they do. It's like roleplay and therapy from what I understand.
Truly fascinating characters.
One of the best conversations I've heard. Ascending the life means extreme ownership. Good on these guys. I was on the edge of wanting to offend badly - that was my battle. I had a lot of shit in my head. Thankfully I restrained myself. One fact though - the system remains the same regardless of these guys moving on. Peace to em all and the new ones. Mark
THANKYOU BOYS, I TOTALLY RELATE AND AM ALSO DOING MY BEST TO SERVE OTHERS NOW. BEST OF LUCK FOR THE REST OF YOUR FUTURE FROM A FELLOW BROTHER IN CHANGE. REGARDS FROM NEW ZEALAND 🇳🇿
LADbible the new vice, brilliant
when one of them drinks tap water instead, you know they're trying to hold back the old days
Its a Vodka
I’m researching how to Rob a bank so I can get some money. So thanks for this Ladbible 👍
Need a driver?
I hope they are paying these guys. Even though they are criminals these are heartfelt stories
Hi Ray hi noel had the pleasure of meeting you both in highdown..respect lads..
These guys (fantastic narrative) and Marvin and Bobby should do events in halls they would fill out with people wanting to hear the stories but also the passion to go straight after wasted time in prison is a great lesson....
Well done gentlemen for changing your lives. The difference between a wise man and a fool ? A wise man can change his mind a fool never does.
Much respect
Noel & ray what a great video your both doing good out here much love to you both
Scared of my own ghost. 😂😂😂😂😂. It's called a shadow.
Would love to have these fellas books top blokes old school style staunch all the best to the boys 👍🙏💯
Read all of razors books and highly recommend them, incredibly written. Just bought rays book after seeing this. A lot of the ex crims on yt say they don't glamorise the life but subtley do. I don't think anyone could hear these two and say they make the life appealing in any way, honestly and eloquently spoken.
I would agree with the fashionable clothes they wear. Atleast these men have class and one wears a rolex.
@@kyedefriend4637 Probably snide lol
YEAH, EVERY ITALIAN MOBSTER IN THE US GLAMOURISES IT WHILE TALKING ABOUT REFORMING...
Fascinating.
Spg were proper dog's , thanks Ray that's a good interview mate, nice one Razor 👍
Razors book a loaded gun and smile is one of if not the best book I’ve ever read, so nice that he got out and successfully leads a straight life now 👍🏻
It's a shame that Londoners don't speak like that anymore.
Wuts up blud
Hardly any of them even speak English anymore.
Thats how linguistics is accents evolve they weren’t speaking like that in Shakespeares day, if you wanna hear that accent go to Essex
@@flamboyentpromotions3471 They speak with that all over the country.
Yeah mate we do
Amazing
This stories about prison in all these series definitely makes me glad I’ve never been a naughty person.
Great reformed role models
I’d like to see a follow up asking Ray why he didn’t care about the innocent/victims at the time.
Because its about the money the public are only there as a distraction or as leverage as razor points out, my brother is 23yrs into a life for bank robberies can't keep himself out of trouble inside, we were brought up in Peckham as well lots of serious criminals had many millwall lads who were serious robbers as well, if any criminals cared about the public I.e their victims their would be no crime.
I’m a support worker but knew another support worker who said he used to deliver money in armoured vehicles., he was held at gunpoint and suffered with ptsd, his wife left him and he became an alcoholic and he recently died of alcohol.
It's the stories like this that need to be heard too. You don't necessarily have to be physically harmed whilst being caught up in the commission of a crime for it to ruin your life. It can start a chain reaction that leads someone down a completely different path. That man could have been tending his garden surrounded by grandchildren living a happy retirement with his wife if he'd taken a sick day that day.
Thats damn tragic
If you never ever played in bombed out post war inner city Britton you probably wouldn't get these two but if you did it will all resonate.
Very insightful
Don’t feel too bad lads, you were a product of the times. Self reflection is a modern phenomenon for the average man.
I don’t think anyone has the right to complain about prison conditions if you’ve spent years frightening the life out of innocent people with a weapon to demand money that isn’t yours. It’s a saying that is as old as the hills, but: Don’t do the crime If you can’t do the time.
We need so many more prisons in the UK that put rehabilitation first, but obviously prisoners need to make that decision before following the path to redemption & rehabilitation.
Your not ready until you're ready, I didn't settle down until late 40's Spent to many years in prison, sadly 😔
the listening bank they certainley was the listening bank, ficking class line razor🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I read a few kind words and a loaded gun. Great book!
I can only second that!
I must be the same age as Noel Smith - my DOB 1962 ish - . I too remember playing down the "bomb sites" (some were, some weren't) out in South London. The one thing I have heard many MANY times is then and now: "The first Offence Was a FITUP". It is hard to imagine what some Police were like back them. Scum some of them - and in groups the SPG, later SUSS became a law, but they used to do it then.routine... Many kids ended up in Borstal or worse: SPAN for only bunking off school, or having abuse issues And God forsake the "Spectrum" etc. Who knows what their story would have been otherwise? All children need nurture. ALL.
Well said
Razors books are the nuts
this is good, an idea of what year is was when ray for example was 16/17 would be handy to give a bit more context to the stories would make it even better! PS you can tell that razor says NatWest when it's beeped out for legal reasons.
NatWest is such a made up name. Prove me wrong brother. No evidence
1980s that's when the police SPG vans used to go about lifting people
@@thomasshepard6030 they were raiding our parties in squats regularly
It’s a sad life when the person you look up to is a bank robber
Great storys from men who made mistakes in life need a part 2 if possible 😀
Was with ray in downview , real deal
Lol funny how the old bill are supposed to fit you up ..no one forces someone to do a blagging
*_A thief is a theif, however you look at it_*
Who is saying otherwise. Muss
Love prison stories.
You won’t love purple Akki prison story’s
@@all2faced325 will check Purple Aki out. Thanks.
Have you ever done time? Most who do hard time hate the books movies and fucking guys who spin there failures on KZhead. Regards Eire32
@@patkearney9320 100% they are losers failures no money no jobs just beggars
@@patkearney9320 No Pat, never been to court and never done time. For me, prison is a big deterrent to stay on the right side of the law, which is why it is fascinating to hear people talk about their time in prison.
if they ever did a film about razor smith , Tom Hardy is the man to play him
Hugely interesting. I can take a very good guess at which bank didn’t give a shit about its customers - not sure you did a good enough job hiding the name of it. It’s pretty obvious to me.
"i was scared of my own ghost" 😐👻
Bright men. Great stories.
If they were bright they wouldn't have turned to crime and spent years in jail and ruined life for many people in society
I'll never forget what an old mentor told me " prison is full of failures"
If your good you won’t land in prison , looks at me I have never done a stretch in my life
My old mentor told me, " ..... " He was tight lipped, and might have just been also getting a grilled cheese and coffee at the diner counter. But, y'know, I've never done a stretch neither.
I lived in Gypsy Hill as a kid so it was very sad to hear i was just up the road when he was beaten up by the police they were dreadful back then.................
razor looks like a 70 year old jack wilshere
after this was filmed they robbed a bank together lol
Who’s the fella that poured the oil on the rusta? I’m sure I’ve heard that story in a podcast before.
They say the prison is horrifying it's not worth it. Yet both of them have served multiple sentences. So they did it again and again when they got out?
If you look at it from retrospect they are old now so at the time probably when they were really young did things they shouldn't have done and went to jail.
Spiritual price = interesting - wish he ellaborated
ive heard the story about the rasta before
Armed blaggers , safe blowers , the geli man ( most respected ) pavement jobs , smash & grab , hoisters ,fences .All gone . RIP .
its giving peaky blinders
Would love to know what town and county Noel is from. When I hear Irish Immigrant, I always wonder where they are from. But seriously had to laugh about “Bandit country”. We have the original Bandit country here in Ireland!
so... what's the Bank that didn't give a toss?
What about that beer
i loved that, fairplay to them growing up in prison must change you
Prisons are a disgrace? Why should criminals live in luxury 🤦♂️
Then again financial terror is way worse and torments and kills vast amounts of people those in suites are the worst
The lack of self-awareness of these two men is astonishing. You can't put a price on time? You did - you were prepared to spend years in prison in exchange for the chance of keeping the proceeds of your robbery.
I take back what I said after watching the rest of the video.
That is the idea of prison! To make crime not worth it!
Ray&Noel gentmen
The bank they bleeped out was Natwest (easy to pick up on from the jaw movement) and also... why on earth does the producer play this hard-as-balls crime-ish music at the end of the video right when these two fellows are expressing remorse and exposing their emotional state? Bit callous, really.
17:10 he would of too
Like we was , instead of we were.
Noel is a very very respected man in the system
He was scared of his own ghost? I'd be fucking scared of my own ghost as well if i had one.
And now it's all done online via scams and phishing
Best Idle, don't go to prison
Is the cycle.. Because as villains get the inside info on the state, the state hrow the book at the villains amdwant to know everything.. that hen teaches the state what to improve.. Lts face it, we cant beat the system.. Us in the Uk are the most wtched cuntry in the world... Even if the old skool boys were to think abot doing itnow is alot harder nowadays tamit was back then.. Its whole different world we live in now
The full circle! The robbed people and made them terrified and now they are remorseful, dot throw prisoners away! Let them be rehabilitated!
Armed robbers complaining about prison conditions! You couldn't make this up.
Extreme inhumanity breeds very very inhumane people who are a danger to you your family and all society, evidence shows such brutal confrontation and poor conditions doesn’t work
