Wooowwww fair play Liverpool, fair play Gemma Bonner! I didn't see this coming, that said I knew Liverpool wouldn't be easy for Chelsea.
Emma Hayes spoke graciously post match and declared the title is going to Man City. Mathematically, nothing is done. Reading the hate and disrespectful comments towards Emma Hayes this morning are grating on me. She should be applauded for her attitude to improving the women's game in this country!

And from what i've seen, it looks like a lot of people don't agree it was a yellow. Kadeisha wins the ball and barely makes contact. • Hey Shebahn I love your analyses and your perspectives, always watching your videos keep it up.. but just I response to your comment about the Emma hate - I think the heat she's been getting is also part of the game to be honest. We see it day in and day out in the men's game so I don't understand why it's an issue when it happens in our game. Same when something happens between players on the pitch I find that women's football fans make such a big deal out of it i.e. LJ and Millie in the FA cup game. The truth is all of this is passion, but not owning up to a loss/blaming refs/shoving the opposition manager and weaponising womanhood is blatant disrespect and is just unprofessional. And that is why she's been getting a lot of heat on social media. I also understand how the sport is growing and subsequently the WSL is more competitive, but that ain't a reason to justify Chelsea's bottling this season. It seems to me that other teams are growing and Chelsea are just there and just waving their flag of 'we're Chelsea'. I'm sure there's more to it i.e. injuries, Emma announcing her departure mid-season, but criticism, harsh or constructive, is part of competitive sports. Of course excluding hate speech.

  • I always thought the quadruple talk hurt chelsea. It was too much pressure, and with the injuries and game congestion it proved to be. The announcing of managers leaving has to stop. It has hurt chelsea and Liverpool(men). It allows people to question the effort of managers and players and causes extreme amounts of pressure to win. The hate towards emma is solely due to her success. The trolls had nothing to say when she was winning. However, emma antics have emboldened trolls to say disrespectful things. All this has proven is that womens football is just as toxic as mens. Every time i see an emma is fat joke it confirms it. We cant pretend women football isn't toxic anymore.

One moment, its all "In Emma We Trust", she's a legend, a powerhouse, then a debatable push against Jonas, one poem and the fans now are trashing her legacy. Social media's harsh black and white, non nuanced reactions change with the wind. It's gross to witness. Wether it';s against Emma or any other coach or player. And also gave her a cheeky kiss on the lips afterwards (little wink to EH's 'inappropriate' comment? yes I know she retracted it). Maybe Emma saying she's leaving hasn't been good for Chelsea or Klopp saying he's off has been a problem for Liverpool men, but Giraldez announced he was leaving and Barça are still in contention on all fronts, and if it's true that Bompastor is leaving, the players will know and have made it to the WCL final. So let's say it's maybe a problem at times, although the injuries to key players are probably a bigger factor for Chelsea. We know Sam Kerr would have scored the winner last night, it's what she does.

  • I agree that a lot of the way Emma Hayes is being talked about online completely erases her incredible contribution to the women’s game throughout her career and I do think she’ll go on to do great things with the USWNT. I also think there should be room to criticize some of her recent actions, post game interviews, and opinions voiced to the press that are objectionable because people want and expect better from such a capable manager. It’s unfortunate because It really feels like it’s the timing of these often valid criticisms lining up with her departure that is changing her legacy. Obviously a team doesn’t get to the semi finals of the champions league without a great manager so in this moment for an otherwise excellent campaign (and honestly career) to be eclipsed by the way that she talked about the ref and the other team following the last match because that’s whats fresh in people’s minds and controversy sticks far more than the solid work behind it really does suck. Of course it also has to be said that even if someone does something out of order the way that it so quickly devolves to straight up hatred and abuse online is vile. Even as someone who’s not a Chelsea supporter I can admit she’s made huge strides in the women’s game and I wish her all the best with the USWNT.

Every team has injuries and other issues, but when Chelsea loses one of the best strikers (Kerr) AND her blossoming understudy (Fishel) and then is without Rodriguez and/or James, those are awfully big holes to fill. I'm not sure that Hayes has earned the respect of the football world outside of Chelsea FC simply because of the way she talks to journalists, or the way she comes off as arrogant during interviews, or the way she always has an excuse when things don't go her way. Honestly, after the match against Liverpool is the first time I've ever felt empathy towards her, and only because she allowed her human side to be noticed. The way she interacted with her player during the interview leads one to believe that she cares. However, by declaring the season as being lost, I couldn't help but think she is not the winner everyone thinks she is. I lost the little respect I was beginning to have towards her.

But it is what it is though, the injuries & schedule finally caught up with us. You can’t really be disappointed with not winning the league for the fifth consecutive season. What Emma has curated over the past 12 years is truly remarkable and I’m sure that now her detractors (who are motivated mainly by their jealousy of her incredible success, as their teams all got left behind in the dust,) will just finally be glad she’s gone.

Every club starts the season with the possibility of winning ever competition in which they participate so Emma and Chelski got the comeuppance they deserve. Luis Cortes had to go unrecognized despite winning everything and humiliating Dame Emma in the WCL Final but, alas, gravity will not be denied despite the best efforts of Sky Sports, the BBC and even the British Government. (PS: I wouldn't bet my house on Emma pulling up trees with the USWNT. But I'm sure there'll be many "reasons" why it didn't happen.)

City at that point had been winning more convincingly than Chelsea, and we had to face them in the FA Cup. It was going to be tough with a full squad far more for a squad with injuries to key players. Emma is being realistic. Even without Bunny, I don't see City dropping one let alone four points. Also, I am so glad that someone spoke out about the hate on social media. And it's not only at Emma, "fans" are quick to berate and call for managers' heads when the team loses, and throw hate on players. I have said my two cents about it in response to comments, but I don't have the platform you do to speak out and be heard, so I am glad that you did today.

She refuses to take accountability for herself and her actions/words so she absolutely deserves to be called out by others. She has brought this completely on herself and by being arrogrant and unprofessional (e.g., sore loser, giving up on the team for the league title now, etc), it is well deserved. If only she could have done things to prevent this.. Oh wait, apologizing exists, taking personal responsibility exists, acting professional exists, managing the game and team exists (in relation to player/player rels. and team dynamics), etc. I really hope she has some self-reflection and gets better because the US will not be easier. It's a different sports culture here and fans will call out managers without hesitation. Her behavior has been absolutely unacceptable and will not fly here so she better be prepared. And also- 16 trophies in 12 years lmao. So she's barely averaged ~1 a year, when there are 4 available each year? That doesn't seem very good for a club as popular and "dominant" as chelsea has been made out to be lmao.

She's created an immense legacy we should all be proud of. But all that said, I completely agree with what others have said here regarding her being a poor sport, what with all her whinging of late. It's not a good look. But when I think of Hayes, the word 'gracious' has never come to mind. And perhaps that makes her a perfect choice for the helm of the USWNT. ;-) I do agree that perhaps a manager announcing they're leaving their club well before the Christmas break is a poor choice. Both Hayes and Klopp did sort of make clear why they were announcing their departures when they did, but even so, was it a good idea? Of course, we have the luxury of hindsight now, but the end of their respective campaigns might indicate the pudding didn't quite pass the taste test. Love your video reports, cheers!

  • A certain teams fans discourse around Emma is honestly boring. Like please focus on your own team at least her team was in the running for 4 trophies. She had a tough year personally and maybe she has been a little careless with her words in press conferences but she’s been championing women’s football and pushing standards for so long. The WSL is better for having had her.

  • Emma Hayes is one of the most successful managers in women's football. People who hate her are just jealous because Emma has a lot of trophies, wins and titles. I know some of them are mad about her blamings but still do not attack her she deserves better and better

  • It's appalling the way people are attacking EH..yes she made some kind of comments and all that but she has done a massive lot for the women's game and should be treated in high regard...and don't forget she's human too! Just because it didn't go her way this season doesn't take away from her, after all Chelsea competed in four competitions and they were close to winning it all!

  • Thankyou, l'm a Chelsea fan and it's really hard watching them crumble after showing so much promise this season. They have brilliant players and have played brilliantly. I know Chelsea can't stay Champions of England forever. The competition is healthy. At Kingsmeadow there's the 'in Emma we trust' poster up. This feels really sad and it was hard seeing those lovely women in tears after last night's game but maybe we'll have a miracle.

  • A lot of the criticism Emma Hayes gets feels like misogyny to me. I'm a City fan, but always respected her. That said, it's odd to me that she declared the title was lost. City have 2 hard games to go, so nothing is in the bag - especially with Shaw out. But they probably have been the best team over the season so far. Hoping they can finish the job now.

    • Agreed. Women get way more harshly criticized in gross ways. Ppl, esp men but sometimes women too knowingly and unknowingly love to see a successful woman fail.

    • Whether it is or isn't it is always used by someone or other as being the reason for the criticism. Impossible to prove or disprove. So as a result the accusation tends to stick and is therefore a bullet-proof argument. Similar to when people make accusations of 'unconscious bias'

    • I also think one can only see the real person behind the manager once their team starts to lose. As far as I am aware (I have not followed WSL much in the past) Emma Hayes has only recently started to lose matches on a regular basis.

  • Very well articulated Shebahn! I have to agree with you.👍 I too... don't think she's handled the most recent losses very well.. and the shove .. well there is no excuse for that.. and it should have been dealt with... and promptly! However.. that being said... you are right.. it's her passion for the game .... that helped her achieve so much greatness in women's football! We can't just forget and disregard all the graft she has put in to make the game better for women in England.. and all over the world if truth be told. There has been a ripple effect for all the good Emma has done!!! Thank you for standing up and saying the right things when it was needed Shebahn! ☺ Cheers from Canada 🍁🍁🍁

  • We forget how many games chelsea played and you saw that the players were tired. It's a shame, but what a team's Emma Hayes has put together over 12 years. Deep Respect to Emma Hayes I really admire Emma , especially how she stands by Lauren James' side. Once cane say anything about Lauren but she comes from a difficult situation that we cannot imagine. Hate is the worst thing in the world you can also have a bad effect . Please stop the hate and love each other 🫶🙌 Thank you Shebahn for addressing this topic 🫶

  • When a team/player/manager succeeds people want to see their downfall. I don't care if you like her or not, Emma Hayes deserves more respect.

    @Vn2631al@Vn2631al20 күн бұрын
  • The legend is humbled. She's basically digging her own grave, or their own grave. If arrogantly declaring their quad race and shitalking during post-press is considered being passionate, I believe the rival fans can be passionate in watching their rival team's downfall as well. If you want everyone to be nice and kind to each other, no rivalry, no passionate fan, no criticism then probably we have to go back to pre-wsl days when theres no one(or barely anyone) watching women's football. If Hayes wants to be respected till the end, she have to earn it. No one will respect her if she's behaving like a sore loser and even making comments that made herself look bad(technically not improving women's football in anyway). I'm happy she can't blame 'getting robbed' this time round and knows she'll go as she came, with nothing at all. p.s.: Liverpool 3rd goal assist is from Holland.

  • Hayes has had the biggest budget in world football for the best part of the last decade, now sheban wants her exempt from criticism because she’s a woman!?? That’s not how professional sports works! You either want equality or admit you want all the positives without any of the negatives! Shame on you
