Dead Boy Detectives Season 1, reviewed by Eric Goldman. Narrated by Erik Adams.
Dead Boy Detectives serves as an acceptable snack between seasons of The Sandman. It’s not trying to be as ambitious as its parent show, but the core conceit here - ghost detectives solve ghost mysteries - is solid and leads to some fun installments. The more serialized aspects are hit-or-miss, with some subplots and characters feeling extraneous and meandering, even while strong performances help elevate the threats posed by its villains.

This feels more like a synopsis than a review.
They cancelled Lockwood and Co. and this will be also cancelled. 😢
well this also has dc and warner bro produce it so hope not.
This show was such a FUN ride. They kind of missed to mention that in the review. It's a 8/10.
This is just Lockwood and Co but under a different name and cast........
You don’t know much about Neil Gaiman do you? Dead Boy Detectives exists in the Sandman Universe, and precedes Lockwood & Co. by decades.
It has a very similar vibe, but Lockwood and Co was better.
manifesting season 2 than being cancelled please
Nobody's talking about this and there's no reviews. This is definitely getting canceled.
It’s more than just okay
Dbd?
Night nurse? Is this DC?
Of course
It's like Hardy Boys meet Stranger Things. 😁
Ok episodes three and seven are the best of the season.
Facts!
😂I didn't even know this existed. I'll definitely have to check it out.

Just finished it and it was fantastic 👍
Is this reviewer from the 1920s? Dude sounds like an old-timey radio announcer.
😂😂😂
Like something out of Fallout radio
Dead Men Detectives
No, that’s Boston Brand.
@@notavailable2590 The comic had school boys and they appeared as such. These are 26 and 27 year old men
@@minbari73Did you want them to cast 13 year olds for a multi season TV show, where they’re playing ghosts, then try to handwave it when the actors hit a growth spurt?
@@notavailable2590simple answer, there isn't that much source material of dead boy detectives. Little enough for the actors to look relatively the same age for the entire filming of the series. Worrying about the actors aging is a limp argument. Either way there is make up and special effects.
@@notavailable2590Nah, just call it Dead Men Detectives.
This isn't related to the doom patrol is it?
Originally...
The characters originally appeared in DC’s The Sandman comic, this show is a spinoff of the Netflix adaptation.
It was going to be, but for a bunch of reasons (i.e. Doom Patrol ending, lead duo recast) it was looped into Netflix’s Sandman universe instead.
DC Comics/Sandman Universe, so there are some connecting threads in tone at least.
@@user-do2ez8hh1w thank you for the information
😁
😊
Lockwood and co are laughing
Neil Gaiman created Dead Boy Detectives in the 90’s, predating Lockwood & Co.
In my knowledge, Dead boy detectives appeared first.
Why?
Fantastic!

Gaming journalist, all clowns!
Any lgbt materials?
Yes the whole series features mainly lgbt+ characters.
Just watched this and it’s an 8/10 IGN getting it wrong like usual
It's fun and campy but does _everyone_ have to be a homosexual?
Well if you've ever read a Neil gaiman story ,they always have plenty of homosexual characters
@@chetanveersidhu753 If the TV series is true to the literature it's based upon then that's OK.
Hipsters inclusive crap
Bro this is based off a comic from 1991, inclusivity has been a thing for a while, if it bothers you now that’s your own problem
