  • Middle Ground is back!! Thanks everyone for watching this highly requested episode. As always, we are not saying science and religion necessarily have to exclude each other - there are religious scientists out there! Instead, we are exploring two sides that society often pits against each other in hopes of finding middle ground #radicalempathy. Let us know in the comments below what future episodes you'd like to see!

    • Because in the end, no one can claim any of their beliefs with 100% certainty. Everyone in this video walked a road to get to where they are now, and each road was completely different. Meaning that each person here understands that they can't think less of each other for not having the same beliefs, but can only explain how they came to their own beliefs. We should all be more respectful of each other, because that's the only time problems start to arise. When we start to infringe on the rights of others beliefs.

When a claim can't be shown to comport to the evidence, then the claim is dismissed. When multiple lines of empirical evidence converge, in inferential-space, upon a singular conclusion and no lines of evidence refute the conclusion -- then that suffices as proof. It's a justified true belief - or knowledge. In science, researchers continually try to disprove and refute and challenge what we currently think. Nope - not opinions at all.

    • whilst I agree that everyone in this video were all very mature, i don't think that coming to the table for that particular prompt is a signifier of that maturity. Take the flat earthers in the 'flat earthers vs scientists' video. I can picture every single one of them stepping forward to that prompt because they are all self proclaimed 'free thinkers' and their whole identities revolve around questioning what they've been taught. But none of them would listen to reason, they would all interrupt the scientists as they tried to explain themselves, and overall they were very immature. But I am 99% sure they they would all claim that they 'question their own beliefs'

Islamic view explains everything, encourages people to search and experience the universe in every aspect of it, and the Quran actually emphasizes that the more one learns and searches, the more one believes, and this happens only in Islam. If you would like more information, you can search the multitude of Islamic literature. I would highly recommend iERA, Sapience Institute and Blogging Theology.

  • I think this video was worth watching. I’m Japanese and as many Japanese tend to be, I don’t really see myself having strong faith in a specific religion. I do participate in Buddhism events regarding my passed relatives & ancestors, enjoy Christmas, sometimes go to various Buddhism & Shintoism temples during my walk and pray, all as a cultural custom or a seasonal event and not so much as a believer, which is also a very common thing in Japan, even though it may sound weird. Also, experiencing half my life in Protestant school and kindergarten I think I have positive influence from it, as well as Buddhism influence from living in Japan. So for me, I guess I’m made by pieces that I like out of each philosophy even though I don’t identify as part of a specific religion.

Waves that simply disappear rather than retreat back to the ocean. It however does describe life from biological perspective, just another way to say from ashes to ashes, dust to dust. Which is not really beautiful anymore, but rather depressing.

Christ talked with everybody but still preached repentance and turning from sin. It's not about judging so much because Christians believe that God has already judged us for our sin through the 10 Commandments. Our job is to tell the world about the coming judgment, and the way to be saved from that - repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Most people don't want to hear that they're sinners who need a Savior.

    • O people, know by us we are actually one descendant, namely the descendants of the prophet adam as and siti hawa, the differences that exist today are because our mindset is not the same, there are those whose minds are intelligent, smart, mature and some are late thinking. and there are those who do not use their brains at all to think and do not want to think, thus giving rise to various ethnic groups, nationalities, languages, cultures, traditions, ethnicities, slogans, dances, and diverse religions. all that Allah created so that we can get to know each other, be able to respect each other, be able to realize each other, that life in the world is certainly lacking and there are advantages of each. and so that we want to learn and learn the weaknesses and strengths of ourselves, our tribe in our language, all of them have been outlined in this life. this life has been arranged so that everything is balanced. because what we believe is if in the world the minds of all humans are the same, you can imagine yourself, ribeuutt explain ... hahaha so that's why the human mind is not the same. There are intelligent and intelligent people, some are only using their reasoning just to deceive other human beings into fulfilling their own interests. then what are our similarities as humans? humans actually have the same conscience, feeling and feeling. and the purpose of our lives is the same. every human being in this world has the same purpose in life, which is to live happily and want to live safely. happiness and safety in life are our main goals as humans. who are humans who don't want to live happily and live in a safe place? because in a safe place that we can comfortably live this life. in a safe and comfortable place that will create prosperity and prosperity to make this life peaceful. our enemies are the same, that is, what is in us, selfishness and lust. fighting the enemy that looks is easy. the difficult thing is to fight ourselves. admit that our selves are weak and there are many shortcomings in us. we always boast about things that really aren't ours. are we proud of the assets we have, the position we are using, just for what? for the sake of ourselves. we forget outside ourselves there are still many who lack.
