MIGRANTS, a short film by Paul Chadeisson, is the first short film presented by Oats Studios in a new playlist that will become a curated collection of our favorite short films from our favorite artists.
Humanity started the process of terraforming Mars many years ago. We follow the thoughts and prayers of one of the “cleaners” who works on this titanic project.

    • @@gregswitala "You had your chance though" - Really? I barely found out about the fundraiser, despite watching all of the content and sharing their videos repeatedly. (and yes, I still tried to support it, I got my refund email on 21 April, 2018). There was next to no information about it on KZhead, which is where I'm guessing the studio gets most of their views. The fundraiser was for a serious amount of money, but was open for a small period of time and done outside of any of the standard crowdfunding sites. The whole campaign felt like it was done by someone who had heard a general description of crowdfunding, thought "Hey, that sounds neat," and then looked into none of the practicalities. Heck, they were releasing videos on KZhead within weeks of the start of the fundraiser and there was next to nothing here. I wouldn't be surprised if there were a lot of KZhead fans of Oats that would have loved to contribute during the campaign if they had any idea it existed, and its hardly the fans' fault that the studio lacked a serious social media marketing strategy when they tried crowdfunding.

    • I think what is really a pity is the lack of indirect lighting coming from the earth, on many shots you have the light of the sun hiting the ships, and the shadow completely black. Yeah i know... the empty space is black right? so shadows are black... but in some shots the shadows of the ships are pointing the earth. But also, light bounces, even if shadow doesn't point the earth it might get light bounces from other parts of the ship that are being lighted.

    • @@jaromswenson7541 Not even made by them, read the description, I am sure they are still working on things as they are very secretive about their work. Hell people waited 13 years for Valve to do another HL game and it took them 5 years to develop it, I think we can wait a bit longer for quality content from Oats. "MIGRANTS, a short film by Paul Chadeisson, is the first short film presented by Oats Studios in a new playlist that will become a curated collection of our favorite short films from our favorite artists."

    • @@BuildInRobloxStyle ok then, they didn't put that in the video....so I assumed that something that was put on their chanel would actually be theirs. If its someone's else's thing it still looks low effort. I've seen good cgi made by other youtubers who dont have big money behind them who could put out something actually worth watching. This was "vague sentences " matched with "boring space stuff" that is titled "potentially hot political topic word ". This wasnt worth the 3 minuts I spent watching it.
