  • I feel a slight difference with this album is that she’s really not holding back on the vocals. She’s not trying to peg her vocals into a generic bubblegum cadence, she’s letting those Gaga-esque vocals FLOW. I wonder if Shallow’s success made her realize how much we love her natural voice :)

    • I hadn't thought about this, but I agree! Her raw vocals in live performances in the last 10 years were often so much more in her nature and I think she embraced it in this album!

    • When just dance came out I was like “whatever” and then I saw her preforming accapella in a radio station promoting it. Just her and a keyboard... she’s been my favorite musician ever since. I love her vocals.

"can't stop staring, I'm so naked" = I can't believe what I'm seeing, you know everything about me (the naked part) "wrapped in shadows, my heart races" = surrounded by demons (demons are black like shadows who can morph), am excited and scared (the heart races part) "dragon's eyes watch, goddess breathing" = in revelations, Satan is referred to dragon (saying Satan watches), goddess breathing (he is alive, the real God is not a woman) "give me something to believe in" = let me believe in your lies and deceivement She also says, "is it what I'm seeing real or is it just a sign, is it all just virtual" = she is confused whether it's real or not (confusion is a sign of demonic attack). She also says "we can be anything you like, I'll be your enigma" = you can choose what would I do, and none has to know about it, this can be our secret. This is the most satanic song on her album, even tho the others also contain such references. If you want me to tell you about the other songs, feel free to reply on this comment, and I'll do so when I have free time. Bonus: why is the album named chromatica, and what does it reference?     • Love it. The only thing I'd change if I was her is how she says Enigma. I wish it was very raw and clear. It doesn't sound like she us saying the word Enigma unless you really listen very carefully so it does distract me. The song is great I'll love it more as I listen a few times. :)

  • This entire album, but more particularly this song, has made me feel so much happier and at peace with myself; I feel like I am heard and spoken to. It's been just over two months since this album came out, I still play this song several times a day, and I love to sing along. Lady Gaga's vocals in this song are just plain unreal. There's just something about Engima that makes you feel carefree, happy, and like you can do anything. Hands-down this is the best song from Chromatica. I cannot wait until I can go to a concert to hear her belt this out.

  • okay, this is proof that lady gaga has the best vocals for a pop icon. she's the most talented writer of the past 2 decades, literally. she doesn't need to curse or anything to prove a point. even when she talks about sexual songs, she writes them in a very poetic way. like you literally can't understand what she's trying to say until you decode it or wait for her to explain the song. or just interpret it by your own vision.

  • To me, this song represents her falling into her psychotic break. She can’t decipher reality anymore, the desperation in her voice is absolutely chilling. (Next, in Replay, she is officially gone in her trauma.) It’s heavy stuff. The beauty though, is that it’s sweetly wrapped in classic house beat that makes you feel uplifted and euphoric while being desperate... such is the dichotomy of a psychotic break. BRAVO.
