  • I definitely liked to see your process of inspecting the car. For those who are pretty new to wrenching, it's good to know what to look for while doing some other job. For example, I brought it to a shop to get a belt replaced, though it is very doable by myself. Just so that they could see something else that would need work soon. As it turns out, 'they' didn't aim for preventive maintenance and it's better to look for yourself. Then again - you have to know what to look for. Hope you get the E46 sold soon. 6 grand is a bargain for a car in such a good shape. Prices for these cars have gone up here a lot lately, regardless of the condition.

Im a big believer in doing your best work all the time, so you dont end up burning customers and missing small issues that can turn into big ones. Hold out and I think you’ll get your money easily. A clean and sorted 330 is getting hard to find. Not only has it had a bunch of deferred maintenance done, but you’ve tackled a lot of the cosmetics as well.

      @csanyikrisztian@csanyikrisztian Жыл бұрын
    • @@csanyikrisztian I used a painters scraper to tap into the seam with a hammer, a putty knife would work too, and worked it around the outside. I used my soldering iron to melt the solder off of the contacts and pulled the old battery out, and resoldered in the new battery. After that I used super glue to glue the case back together and put it in my bench vise to keep things tight while the glue cured :) hope that helps

  • Quick question - I just bought a 2003 e46 2.2 6cyl manual. It's leaking transmission oil from the gear shifter shaft seal. Or at least I think it is. Does a manual have the same type of seal or mekanism as an automatic to begin with? Is it possible to change it without removing the whole tranny? Thanks in advance and greetings from Finland 👌

    @karijore@karijore11 ай бұрын
    • Hey Jorma, the manual tranmissions have a similar type of seal that goes around the shift selector rod, however i dont recall replacing any of them myself. I know it can be accessed underneath the car with the trans still up but i dont know if it can be replaced without any tear down of the transmission. Thanks for the comment!
