Samsung has officially unpacked the Galaxy S24 family, comprising a base model, the Galaxy S24 Plus, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra. The Galaxy S24 Ultra comes with a 6.8-inch 1440p display, a new titanium finish, numerous AI tools, and a higher starting price: $1,299. The S24 lineup is loaded with local and cloud-based AI features and is running Google’s Gemini foundational models on-device. Plus, a couple of new features are coming to Google Search, starting with the self-explanatory Circle to Search - but only on a handful of Android phones. Here’s everything you missed. #Samsung #SamsungUnpacked #Technology

I miss when companies were confident enough to do their presentation on a live stage. This is refreshing
That "WOOOOO" at 7:35 😭😭 We all felt that 🤝🏾
lmao yes, and also the small cutoff whop a few seconds later

@@Raptor-Jesus They all were.
No, we didn't. That was just stupid and an unnecessary feature.
I hope it's a new standard across all Samsung devices running the new One UI, this has to be long term supported and more devices have to use it
It's become apparent year after year phones haven't had much change BUT I must say this phone I'm impressed with! It's not just small minute details too.
Same as ultra 22...
@@emilwelter4709certainly a much bigger jump from iPhones 13, 14 and 15
I didn't see any reason to buy a new hardware device just to see changes in the software. Why can't use the same software on all hardware?🤨
@@Frivals Because you need powerful hardware and specialized chip to run this. You can't have that software on an older device.
I absolutely love the live 2-way calling and texting translation in real time!!!! It's my favorite feature on the new S24. Yes, indeed, I may not understand your native language, but no worries, my Samsung S24 does!!!! Amazing and impressive!!!! I love that Samsung has thought globally and inclusively by developing this much needed software.. Just think, no more language barriers!!!!! I can converse with my neighbors across the globe with the S24 in my hand. Merci Beaucoup, Samsung!!!
I loved that subtle hint at the end about the fold 6 and flip 6. I am personally waiting for the fold 6. I am buzzing after watching that video.
I just preordered . I waited 3 years to upgrade when I used to upgrade every year. The phones have gotten good enough to last that long or even longer. 7 years of support is big. I also cannot wait for the Samsung ring. I almost bought an Oura, but would love to keep it in the Samsung Health Eco system.
I'm keeping my S22 Ultra until S25 or S26 Ultra, it's still a great phone, still does what I want and I am using Battery Protect so it should last me a few more years, Cameras will get better and AI will be improved
I would say their phones have been good enough since the Note 9 to last for years. It's just that they stopped supporting it with security patches after four years. They only announced seven years of support because Google is doing since they announced it last year with Pixel 8.
Same here man
No, because Google owns the Android software
Damn you are a big spender only waiting 3 years I’m upgrading to this from my Note 9 lol Just messing with you bro enjoy the phone I can’t wait to get mine too
The Verge would put Mr. Beast in a thumbnail about a Samsung Product announcement
They’re just making this poor kid richer and richer. Hopefully he really does have a good soul. I find it hard to believe behind that smile.
I saw on X Samsung is collaborating with Mr beast for some giveaway BS
He was in the presentation
Maybe cause he was part of the presentation lol
Lol they removed it after reading your comment @BCJDM
All I know is the S25 will be amazing
yeah want this s24U, but i just bought an s23, so I will wait for s25U.
And the S26
Maybe s30 would be better.i gonna wait
I’m waiting for the S42
Just wait for the S69
I'm so glad to see Drew Blackard back again, he is absolutely brilliant!
There was no Live Chat at The Verge this year? :( I really liked those
This might be one of the most exciting tech/phone key notes in a very long time; they had us in the first half with the near identical design.
LOOLLLL
You are kidding right?
@@ycccvju8839I'm sorry but no longer having two different wireless file transfer protocols for Android is frickin awesome
Why do you need a new design, I’m serious

Yea, put it on the woman's finger to keep track of her affairs.
Good idea btw
@@f5fstopgenious😂😂😂😂😂 thanks samsung
Keep track of her heart beat. Especially when she is supposed to be working or sleeping 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I would
With the exception of the camera sounds like most of these features can come to just about any modern galaxy phone.
Most of them sound like they come with any Android phone. All the AI is powered by Gemini.
Only around50% of the AI features can be used on older phones. This is because the NPU on the new chip is designed specifically for the new AI features where older Samsung phones do not have the processing power for it,
I didn't see any reason to buy a new hardware device just to see changes in the software. Why can't use the same software on all hardware?🤨
@@Frivals comment above u explained it lol
Google Translate was launched in 2006 and has had a smartphone app since 2010. I appreciate this is Samsung doing their own thing but honestly it's hard to get excited about translate features in 2024.
I was thinking the same thing. Even the UI was similar.
Difference is its on device (offline). Wonder how good it'll be
Offline on device translate is interesting in case network doesn't work while traveling or privacy freaks, Google translate requires network and is cooperative with US law enforcement
@@chinesesparrows not good. reviews are out already, it needs work
@@chinesesparrows Agreed. I plan to be doing some traveling in South America later this year. I ordered the S24 today because if you are familiar with more second and third world countries, high-speed data connections for Google Translate usage can be hit or miss. Having something that's able to translate on the fly without an active data connection is a big deal in those types of environments, especially if you're not absolutely fluent in that language. So while this may not be an important feature for most Americans, for the ones that do international travel on a regular basis...it could be one of the most utilized tools.
2:10 what if using a different instant messaging app? Still works?
S25U is gonna be amazing. Imma wait for that one....
I am actually really interested in the speaker quality. Now on a s22u, very dissappointed with the current speaker quality
I agree with you.. so I’m here, iPhone 14 Pro
Galaxy Ring for Health Tracking, price and relase date?
They could've just given us a software update
exactly all of this probably runs off of GPT3 anyways

I wonder which AI features are coming to S23 Ultra, because I could find a good deal for the S23U for $800, while the new s24 Ultra costs around $1400. So I wonder if it is worth double the money.
What do you think *genius* ?
Double the money? No, it's not worth it. Some new AI features = double the price? Heck no

If you trade in,less
If it isn't much for you, go ahead Samsung also give lots of bonus and incentives when you pre-order
Nō 1 samsung fan! Can't wait to hold s24 Love the size, 6.2 😊🔥
its bigger than S23 ?
Verge riding Beast hard 🤡
mr beast showcased some ai features in the presentation
Genuine question: On the s24 ultra, is the small round one above the flash, a camera, or not? If not, what is it? Thanks
Wow these Samsung Keynotes are going crazy. Software-updates for more than 4 years?! An integrated OS in your car? Making instant stickers out of photos?!? Translating using Google?? Man, i’m switching asap
Finally google pixel features
7 years is great but after the first year how long you have to wait to get them
Oh my god this is all amazing ❤❤❤
How long before we have 20 cameras on the back of the phone?
Wow! Definitely worth an upgrade
Switching for the Shakespearean tone lol
Just traded in an S21 Ultra (512) and the total for the S24 Ultra (512) ended up under $1200 CAD after tax. That's a great deal, especially if I can trade this one in again in 3 years for the same price.
love that guy 🤣🤣 7:33 7:44
Gotta love the Samsung 💙
I hope they get better speakers in these presentations , it was very boring. Thank The Verge for getting the highlights of the presentation.
they love having people that can barely speak English
Anything on the A series 👀
an iPhone user but these phones are insane! 📱 💨
Want to pre-order the S24 but I’m a bit worried about the Exynos processor that everyone is always talking about 😄
I don’t understand why Samsung doesn’t kill it, they are so bent on releasing it for other markets (Europe) but never the US. Think the EU need to help here.
@@tonylancer7367for profit. They save a lot by using their own processor
This time, exynos is almost strong, like 8gen 3. Won't be significant difference between. Example: Samsung Galaxy S24+ with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip scored 2,297 points in the single-core test and 7,104 points in the multi-core test on Geekbench. On the other hand, the Geekbench 6 test for the Samsung Galaxy S24+ with an Exynos 2400 chip shows the phone scored 2,193 points and 6,895 points in the single-core and multi-core tests
Thought they did Snapdragon worldwide after the s23?
@@k2_fx521 but they are usually worse in efficiency, heat and optimization, so i would wait for reviews
2:17 my mom uses that feature for work it's crazy 😮
wow, what a device!
No Log format in video? 🤔
i wonder how much of this will come to the Zfold line.
I know the translation feature is useful, but isn't it already available on Google translate? I don't see anything new with this .
Need a screen protector test to see which one compliments the anti reflectiveness of the new screen
Can triangle 📐 pixel make display more vibrant and vivid..???
absolutely, if you belief it really hard!
7 years updates let's go , pixel 8
Unlike Google, Samsung will keep their promise
@@Rash7cap google will deliver. Trust the process 😅
How about my Samsung Tab S7+ ? It already isn't getting support for ONE UI 6 .. super disappointing!
Just preordered
This is more like Samsung's version of WWDC. They're focused on new software features rather changing hardware designs like they did before (Camera aperture, heart rate monitor, Iris Scanner... etc)
It's the new AI trend that every company has been doing.
Too bad the whole "7 years of updates" go only for the s24. I just acquired my fold 5 last month 😂
Return it lmao
7:44 W O P !
Samsung really will support their phones longer than make OneUI less horrid but also I love that their pushing the industry forward with a confirmed 7 years, rather than Apple's optional "maybe we'll give it 7 years, maybe not"
Oh man, that new ring, just what will Oura Ring do now...
Fantastic 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Is there an option to turn off the watermark for the ai? I don’t want it
Will this ai work on older Samsung devices
Where's the new headphones at?
Mr beast isn’t even in the video ? Lmao
Seriously, unethical journalism IMO
He didn't include mrbeast or polimane 😂
wait what happened to the galaxy ring?
Galaxy C ring?
It will be announced in the August unpacked event
I bought my S10+ on launch & have had it since i think it's time for an upgrade
Bought my S10 in 2021 and I still don't see much reason to upgrade.
Samsung: 10 updates in 1 year Apple: 1 update in 10 years
@1:50 in this AI age Samsung : "oops ! not able to locate the huge palace" , Also Samsung: "No issue ask the Spanish lady, I can translate and do this, on device"

8:40 that was for Nilay right there.
this is just like what a villain said, "if everyone is super, then no one is"
Any news on the fold 6?
July 26
Geez... This looked more like a Google unpacked event.
to be fair, galaxy unpacked has been around since 2009, much longer than google’s and it’s even in wikipedia
This time they did the colab. Even a Google's employee came to Samsung's event for presentation
Bc it’s almost all based on google Gemini.

Drew Blackard is a great presenter. I can see him as the President of the Mobile Department in the future.
So when ring would be available? in fold 6 lunch event next August?
Question is though: Does it have insulating pads?
It'd better have them ... wouldn't want any short circuits :D
I'm glad they add those iPhone rings to the camera. 😂
I'm guessing my Samsung Galaxy Fold 4 and S23+ won't be getting the AI features. But I don't know if the AI features are good enough for me to plunk down the cash for new devices when my devices are barely a year old and still works fine for my other tasks.
They had 'Over the Horizon' track playing on Android Auto - that is so unrealistic!
They running out of stuff to talk about 😂 they are basically reviewing the functionality of existing apps
Samsung to Apple be like “ In your Face… Boom💥!“
What if you don't use the home Button?
It works with the nav bar also ... by long pressing.
Reject gestures, embrace buttons.
The new AI features are neat but it's like watching a pixel event from 3 years ago. literally the same features
Except pixel doesn't have the processing power or battery life to pull off a decent phone experience

Ai has become so much more powerful now. Its not even a comparison
Mr Beast talks about Galaxy 24?
5:06 oha çılbır. Az yapmadım bu yemeği 😁
I'm looking forward to the samsung ring I haven't bothered to update my watch 4 because I'm waiting for the ring.
Samsung is required to add a button for photography. Improve sound and microphone. Increasing the charging speed to 60 watts, according to artificial intelligence, requires more development and tasks. An important point when playing on a Samsung device, the audio port becomes inside the palm of the hand. Please change the location
Samsung is an awesome company. Extremely innovative and creative. Phenomenal phones.
Please bring the AI features to Fold 4!!!
6:41 It sounded like Sadguru presenting the Camera features of S24 😂
So.. is the AI feature in-device or requires internet connection?
It can work offline, so yes you can say it's integrated in the device.
They literally explain it in the video.
They didn't mention about if there were improvements of the shutter speed
Not gonna lie, that 7 years of upgrades and the extra feature merging with google is sick! And the camera changes look hood
1:48 I hope Samsung provides Latin America Spanish as well for the US and others.
I ordered the S24 Ultra, and I'm excited to get it, but can someone explain to me why we have to pay for A.I. features starting 2025??? I already paid a premium price for this phone, and now I'll be expected to pay for features that should be free
Remember all those foreign language classes you had to take in high school???? IT WAS ALL A WASTE, you should have just waited for 2024😂😂😂😂
Amazing! Ive been a samsung guy since the first Galaxy, Samsung actually pays attention to its customer base and rolls out innovative features quicker than their market counterparts "ahem rotten fruit overlords". Love my Galaxy, cant believe year by year the engineers find new ways to improve a great phone experience. Thanks!
7 years OS upgrades is kind of insane, with this new phone you don't need a new phone until S29 or S30
Apple already has real time translation, Making Stickers out of Fotos, Raytracing, sharing betwen every device and some more Its sad to see that there is nothing new 🥲 that also counts for Apple
Hope the ai features (even not at all) will come to Z Fold 5
No mention of satellite features this year either???
Some carriers have started to work with SpaceX for direct-to-cell, I think it might not even matter in the future
She holds Phone in charging😂 why no battery back up 😂❤
1:20 *Hindi* language is included. 🥺
Give us fast charging we had it for 3 years it's time to prove charging speeds an bring back ir blasters
Google and the privacy ? 😂
