Re-Gluing your Car Door Window Glass that Fell Out
How to Re-Glue Car door Window Glass that Came Loose or Fell Out causing your window to get off track, break or get stuck.
This happened to a Toyota drivers window. I tried to secure it with 100% silicone but it only held for a week. I ended up doing a lot of research and visited an Auto Glass Repair shop to find the correct product and procedure to make the proper factory repair.
If you have a similar car door glass that fell out because the glue dried out, this video should help you to make the repair that will last.

Thank you. I went to my local autoglass shop and they charged me $50 for removing 2 bolts to diagnose the glue was no longer sticking to the channel. He wanted another $80 to take out the glass and re glue it. Do it myself it is.. Thanks a million for the tips. Cheers!
Yea blame the people that don’t work for free and are actually giving you a good deal.

i'd pay $130 in a heartbeat.
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Thanks so much. I really don't like the idea of letting my car sit in my apt without the window but its probably the smartest thing to do. This video helped me a ton thanks so much.
You're welcome!
Just some more tips...if by chance you have cleaned off the marks where the oe lugs were bonded, there is an small oval access hole in the inner door skin..make sure the front lug is lined up central to the access holewhen in that position as if the lower sliding retainer channel has moved, the sliders may hit the lugs during operating....I would also grease the sliders and lube the vertical running rubber as resistance is often the cause of the lugs pulling off...hope this may help someone
Great video mate! i wasnt sure how to generally take a window out, and your techniqie of letting thr front drop out of the rails made total sense - woopwoop :)
Glad it helped
In RSA I bought the similar glass for R300=$15 new .Must specializing in car glass fitment to get it right otherwise taking a chance won't work.Must let glue dry /set before trying it out.
Very good,👍. Spray some silicone - lightly! - in the channels while yr at it. And clear iut any debris blocking little drains.
I want to thank you so much I just did this to fix my brother driver window
Way to go!
Going to try using the Beta 418 sealant. Tried using silicone, but since I have a manual crank handle on one of my older cars it probably needs something stronger as the silicone one just slipped out after a couple weeks
This is fantastic information. I've been scouring the interwebs for a while. My clip actually broke off on one side, so I need to get a new clip and glue back on. Any chance you know where to pick up a replacement? Looks like you're rocking around an 06 Camry, that's exactly what mine is, but I can't find any clips that fit that size, only bigger. Thanks for the great info, I will definitely be using this, been trying to figure out what use to glue back on.
Could JB weld work? I’ve been struggling with mine and about to get it done. I’ve tried things as well, but I as left the prior glue in and hoped it would work. Now I’m about to do this exactly and take the window fully out and glue it.
I like this way by removing the glass and marked the spots, put the glass back, and put screws in.. No taping of glass, or 2nd person holding. When I did mine, we did not clean the old glue and the clips, just put on Gorilla glue on. Hope it holds well for a while.
I did what you did and it didn't work out for me😂. Now I'm holding my beta seal watching this guy., 🤣
Excellent information Sir. You had exactly what i was looking for!
Glad it was helpful!
The $20 adhesive is bad enough, but the $30 caulking gun to apply it makes me want check out how much a professional is gonna gouge me for.
Any updates on how this is holding up? Mine fell off back in October and I’ve just kinda left it rolled up since. The weather is starting to warm up and I’ll do this soon. I miss my window so bad.
Still working fine and holding strong.
@@helpinguonline thank you. This video is extremely helpful :)
So you were able to glue the clips onto the window and then you put the window in the door? Don't the clips prevent it from going back in the door because it's such a tight fit? And are the clips suppose to be snug against the glass? Mine clips seem like there way wider then the glass is thick?
The glass goes in there fine because the panel with the inside seal is removed to do that job
Good information...a practical query 😂
I'm from India have corolla 2004 😂 broke right side door glass...couldn't get an original glass but somehow a local stuff and did it myself....when I press the auto mode while the glaas goes up it just hits the top and come down itself....can you diagnose the problem...
You have to make the relearn, look for a video on KZhead how to do it it's very easy
Echo srm 225 run great for 20-30 minutes and then start to run rough and lost power, after a few hours later it run great again for 20-30 minutes and then start to run rough and lost power again.
I like turtles
What is the name of the glue again?
Betaseal U-418
Can someone reply....if the glass is fully broken then how to decide the exact location of clips to be glued on a new glass....
New glass should come with clips already glued in place
Glass comes with new clips already on
I just did this yesterday, I basically pull most stuff out until I get to the window part and unscrew the fastener holding the broken window glass. I clean it off and screw it back. Then I slide the new glass down to the fastener, but have to redo it all again because I forgot the glue. P.S. My glass didnt come with the fastener.
I also paid $20 for that product.
That’s not the correct glue for that it will work, but would work better if you use a beta seal 428+ it has primer built-in that way it sticks better to clean glass
can i use double side tape????
I am not aware of any double sided tape that will work for this application.
lol
A great big NO!
NOOOOOO
