Book: The Well-Lived Life: A 102-Year-Old Doctor's Six Secrets to Health and Happiness at Every Age 👉 amzn.to/3JtwWNs
--------------------- -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- -------------------- ---------------
Dr. Gladys McGarey is recognized as a pioneer in the convergence of allopathic and holistic medicine and is internationally known as the Mother of Holistic Medicine. Following a career in family practice for nearly eighty years, she now has a life consulting practice. After graduating from medical school, Dr. McGarey became the only woman intern at Deaconess Hospital in Philadelphia.
In 1978, she co-founded the American Holistic Medical Association to unite licensed physicians who practiced medicine and helped transform conventional healthcare into a more holistic model. She was the first medical doctor to utilize acupuncture in the U. S. and trained other physicians to use it. She founded the Gladys Taylor McGarey Foundation in 1989 to bridge the gap between holistic and traditional medicine. She helped to expand the knowledge and application of holistic principles through scientific research and education.
Dr. McGarey co-founded the Academy of Parapsychology and Medicine, founded The International Academy of Clinical Hypnosis, and was a founding diplomat of the Arizona Board of Homeopathic and Integrated Medicine Examiners.
We all want to know the secret of leading a long, happy life, so who better to ask than someone who is 103 years old? And all the more qualified as a doctor and the mother of holistic medicine.
Please enjoy my conversation with Dr. Gladys McGarey.

    • Hey, can someone PLEASE fix your stuff so that the closed captions actually repeat what the person is saying? The words are not in English!! I don't know if you can imagine how frustrating that is, but just in case, you don't know, it's extremely frustrating.

  • Right before my mother passed over, she looked up above her and asked, “who are all the people in the room?“ I told her, “those are all your loved ones waiting for you.“ it was beautiful and peaceful.

  • So great that you had Dr. Gladys on your podcast, Alex. I took a sabbatical from my purely allopathic medical practice in Phoenix in 1990 to spend two years working with Dr. Gladys and her daughter Helene in their holistic medical practice in Scottsdale. We employed the Edgar Cayce readings, had many of his remedies in our pharmacy, and had our own specialized PT and massage therapy department. For me it was a life changing experience that has continued to grow even now in my 75th year.

    • @@JennieEmare Yes, soooo lucky! I miss her terribly, but at the same time I feel her around me often. Plus, she had such an influence on me that in many ways I still live by her standards. She had an IQ over 160 and could excel at nearly anything she focused on, yet firmly believed that nothing is more important than love, kindness and spiritual growth and connection. Lucky indeed. Thanks for letting me reminisce.

  • So much wisdom and from the heart. Gladys will be who I remember when I'm feeling stuck and in fear and doubt. She has changed my trajectory into my next chapter and given me hope instead of dread. Priceless. Thank you both for this stunning interview of holiness. 😀

  • Wilding, well done! I love this. Thank you for making a visual fairytale of the beauty of reality. This is not new. This is TRUE. Allowing Nature to reign is humility, honesty and true Nature as stewards being embodied. We are Nature, and that trust is rewarded with all life flourishing, as Nature intends. The huge reaction is all the congealed sickness, humans operating under the influence and centuries of trauma, of evil. Thank you for standing up as Nature, for Nature. Thank God for your courage and willingness. THANK YOU!!! Aloha, Claire - We moved from our Regenerative Farming Community on Maui which I designed on our 258-acre project, to the Isle of Lewis! ....Scotland forever.

  • Thank you for a beautiful, expansive and inspirational conversation. As a medium who has walked with Souls across the veil, I fully appreciate the stories she shared about the transition of loved ones being filled with joy and lightness of Being - "jubilation" in her words. Conversations like this are so helpful and healing for so many. Much appreciation. ❤

  • I love listening to her story . My dad would have been 104 this year, but he passed many years ago . I often think I wish I had asked him more questions when he was still here . Everyone should have conversations with their parents , grandparents, and great grandparents before they are gone. 😢 We don’t think of this when we are younger. It never occurred to me that Dad wouldn't always be there . Thanks, Alex, for all you do and for all your fabulous quests . 😊
