    • I dont have exact numbers but perry made at least 1 milly for his last 3 fights.... big difference from the ufc numbers. Not counting any sponsorships or side deals. I reckon if another huge star jumps ship to go after perry, or perry develops a good back and forth rivalry with someone creating buzz (example mcgregor v diaz or mcgregor v poirier).. easy 2+ milly a fight for old platinum!

Somebody seen to possibly be able to beat perry. Maybe the gorilla till was seen as that man. In regards to what platinum makes. Who knows exactly, but he is happy and doing quite well. Maybe hes earning more that we think per fight with gate, sponsorships and back end points. All i know is he isnt complaining about it, so it must be several milly now

    • Hahah he’s a fighter not a doctor. But for real, ya you would think he would know about this, and he probably does just in the moment making the video he didn’t recall properly You’re right though. It has to do with the fact your lower jaw is not directly fastened to the upper jaw / skull. So when hit on the lower jaw in the right spot, the distance the jaw moves from the impact affects nerves that travel along the jaw line / ear area, and shut the brain off temporarily

  • Mike Perry is a great example of someone who you couldbe technically better than, BUT in a "real" fight he's just willing to go further than most humans. The violence/intensity he brings and and his willingness to absorb punishment is terrifying. I've trained kickboxing and BJJ with people that I run circles around in a training environment, but I know that in a real fight, that person would rip me to shreds. Difference between "fighters" and "martial artist". I'm a martial artist that doesn't having a fighter mindset at all. Mike has always seemed like a natural fighter that is growing his martial arts prowess.

  • Bare knuckle fighting is a VERY different sport. I remember thinking guys like Krazy Horse, Charles Bennett, would be wrecking balls in bare knuckle but he kept breaking his hands. Then you get Mike Perry. He's so durable he's made for BKFC: hard hands, hard head, hard to put away. Guys that could rough Mike Perry up in MMA he just clobbers in BKFC. I was awestruck watching MVP get dropped by Perry when they fought. MVP had a great interview where he explained a big difference between BKFC and everything else. For starters, you can't spar the same way you fight. A real bare knuckle fight is different from your sparring, which isn't the same for other combat sports. Your mind has to accept instant, excruciating pain that you don't experience in sparring. Then there's the punches. With other sports your hands are covered with gloves and you can ride the punches to lesson the impact. With bare knuckles the damage is done the second the knuckles connect. You can roll with it but you're getting stung. Most bare knuckle fighters can punch to the head like Perry without hurting themselves. I guarantee Thiago Alves was seeing stars.

  • You see this trend in Bare Knuckle, the sleeker more technical strikers get beaten by the more tough and rough styled fighters, being a tough SOB that can dish it out and slug it out at close distance seems to be worth more than in the other fighting sports, I don’t know if it’s the distance and the way bare fist damage you that play a factor.

  • Both Men are warriors! I remember Duk Koo Kim, I was there when he died in the ring. Boom-Boom and Kim were warriors, willing to take whatever to give theirs, and it was brutal! Kim was winning thru first 13 rounds. Mancini started to turn the corner with his over hand, as he was eating Kims right hand 50 shots a round. 14th round was a surprise, and seeing him still, then the next day hearing his death announced. AMA nearly put a nail in boxing forever, people forget. Bareknuckel fighting could take down the rest of combat sport, a sport I have enjoyed for 60yrs.
