Nissan Qashqai First Drive Review | The Crossover That Started It All
Today on Buckle Up, Rob drives the car that started the crossover trend in the UK - the Nissan Qashqai.
Love it or loathe it, it's immensely popular and remains one of the best selling cars in Britain after 14 years on sale.
Up against rivals such as the VW Tiguan, Skoda Karoq, Seat Ateca, Cupra Formentor, Ford Kuga, Vauxhall Grandland, Peugeot 3008, Citroen C5 Aircross, Renault Kadjar, Toyota Rav4 and Suzuki Across.

Buckle Up is a channel that is only interested in one thing - cars!
We upload a myriad of different content including car review videos, car challenge videos, car news videos and much, much more!
Our videos are made in a similar style to that of Top Gear, Fifth Gear, Car Throttle, Doug DeMuro, carwow, Carfection, The Grand Tour, MotorTrend and many more.
We would all thoroughly recommend their channels, so why not go and check them out.
The e power does not have a cvt gearbox. it is electric drive so does not have a gearbox.
On the day, Nissan’s own press material described it as having a 1-speed automatic transmission. I do explain e-power in full near the start of the video, though.
You don't explain it very well then!
Which bit of the explanation was wrong?
Very well presented! Nicely explained the Nissan e Power system.
Thanks Naveed!
Steering feel is adjustable in settings.
I think you overestimate how much effect those systems have
It’s not a cvt system.
Please read the other comments and watch the clip where I explain, in full, how the drivetrain works.
Nice cars, it's the reliability compared to Honda & Toyota that puts me off.
Is it that much worse? I haven’t heard any horror stories about the new e-Power units
I’ve got this exact model. Average mpg is 40mpg after 7000 miles. Not worth it.
Interesting, I’ve heard the MPG is the same as conventional cars in the real world but good to hear from an actual owner.
my MPG since I've had it is just over 47, but I do a lot of 1 - 3 mile journeys. With longer journeys I'm getting close to 60mpg. My last petrol QQ I got low 30's overall@@BuckleUpShow
@@BuckleUpShow I’ve raised it with the garage and followed their instruction to the letter as to how to drive it, most I’ve managed on a long journey is 45mpg and that’s driving very carefully, motorway driving, in economy mode and using regen selectively. After 10 months of ownership had some gremlins with it, overall would just recommend the straight petrol model (or a different car …)
You need to do bit more research before you do a review, Nothing as bad as wrong information on car reviews
The only incorrect thing in the video is about the CVT, which I have addressed with a full explanation of how the e-power system works
@@BuckleUpShow Thanks I’ll have a look at the update Thanks
