Silas you wear your heart on your sleeve. You seem to be a genuine upright guy. The world needs more people like that. Wishing your channel will grow, so you can enjoy more family time.. “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”
Yep
I bought several used storage sheds that were used for small homes. One belonged to an older gentleman who died in a wreck. I was cleaning them out and for $120,350. I bought it from the people i knew. I took it and a lot of pics back to them.. They were so happy to have the pics back. But when i gave them the money, the man's daughter almost fainted. I was so happy it helped them.
Glad u were an honest person & gave the family back the money. God bless u
He only gave them half the money back@@ramrod6279
That dollar bill is a "silver certificate" , indicated by the blue seal. Worth more than a dollar. Definitely worth checking it out.
Where did u see that?
@@rochellerule8854 on the face side of the bill, to the right of the face is the seal of the US treasury . It is circular and dark green on regular bills and looks like a circle with gear teeth around the edges and has what I think is a shield in the middle. On a silver certificate bill that is blue like the one in the video. Hope that helps😊
The bill says Silver Certificate right at the top.
At my grandma's house after she passed away, we tore open an old mattress and found huge wads of money, over $10,000 worth all in 50's and 100's. good to check inside couches and under dresser drawers too. Great video, thanks for sharing :)
Thank you for bringing us along with you on the dig. It didn’t really matter what you found it’s just fun rooting

With Silas, every day is an adventure. You take your viewers back in time, you make a lot of us middle aged folks [62] smile, seeing cars and trucks from our heyday. Thank you 🚙 1935e One dollar bill in fair condition is worth between $7 & $12 💵
Hi Silas, That 1935 one dollar bill is a Silver Certificate and should be worth something. Yes if you could contact a television station see if they might help locate the family. Enjoy all your videos.
When I worked as a ticket seller at the movie theater some kid paid with the crispest $5 bill I’d ever seen. Something about it struck me as different, but I didn’t know what. I set it aside and put my own $5 in the till. When I had a chance to look at it I saw that it was a 1963 Silver Certificate with a red stamp. I figure the reason it was so perfect was because that kid must have got into grandpa’s collection or something and he snagged it to go see a movie! 😂
You can be sure he won't do this. It's about getting stuff for free.
That box of envelopes. Reminds me of my Dads office..in his desk drawer there were rows of envelopes and in about every tenth one there was hundred dollar bills…several thousand bucks, but the thrill of looking through all of it was almost as good as the money.
God bless you, for looking for the family. Keep us updated ❤️
I dig through this cargo dumpster and found coins, jewelry and cash. All from around 1965 give or take. I did the same and kept it and put it away. Good finds!
If any of those 1944 pennies are magnetic you have hit the jackpot!Depending on condition they could be upwards of a half million bucks.
Thank you for not being rude like some people I have seen on KZhead where they just ransack through peoples possessions. Appreciate your respect and the fact you think it is sad which I totally agree
I think the real treasure is the slot rims when you sell them someone is going to be really happy to have found them.
the silver certificate is really a cool find.
That quilt could be worth a bit of coin being hand made. Some of that glass ware can have value.
Wow! Would never have guessed it would be full of junk and old tires! I'm sure you would have smashed pretty quickly if you had known! it's crazy as the other 2 trailers had good things in them. Good find with the dollar bill and coins, I hope you can find the relatives of the photos. Thanks Silas!
😁👋👍👍👏👏💕🙏🏻 Thank you.
It's not the strict monetary value in the trailer that makes this video fun, it's the discoveries you make and the the experience of buying a "mystery trailer". Oh well, I'd still keep onto the 14' Cragar if someone wanted it for a man cave decoration. Easy to store in the back of a truck bed outside or in a pile!

I can't wait for the rest of the "Whats in There" trailer series!!!!
I just love the way hi treat and respect others peoples memories, thank you for the tour.
Never ceases to amaze me the junk people keep. They say "one person's trash is another person's treasure" but usually it's just trash after all. 👊😎👍
Believe it or not that blanket the mirror was in might actually be worth something if it would clean up
I was thinking the same thing if it could be cleaned without falling apart! 😆
Lots of people say that everything he gets is worth big bucks. Like the case tractor he took home because everyone said that they sell like crazy. Now no one is interested in buying it.
Check out the stamps on those envelopes!
@@vicferrari9380yes!that’s what I was going to suggest if he has the time , could be worth checking out
@@danno3497my grandma used to clean her old quilts in the fresh powdery snow
Making memories my be priceless, but leaving a legacy for your family is better. Your Dad passed the junk bug onto you, and one day I hope you can pass it along to your kids. As for the coins and Silver Certificate. That is an awesome find no matter what they are worth. I find Wheat Pennies and foregin coins all the time, But never old bills like that.
Those were some cool finds. Watch for old stamps, they could be worth money as well.
Some of the glassware / crock pots can be worth a lot of money to collectors especially clown glass... Also that $1 is a silver certificate...
Imagine the shock and horror of seeing an old photo of yourself on a KZhead channel called Adventures Made From Scratch. 😲 Thanks Silas! 🤠👍
Well Silas you certainly made a junky trailer tour into a comedy show for us 😏! At least you had a blast finding those old coins and that silver 1$! As a coin collector, you did very well!! 👍
The dollar bill is Silver backed! maybe worth more than a $1.00! cool find!
It always a thrill to find money. Heck, I still love finding parking lot pennies!
Me too.. My husband get so mad at me. Lol. Prayers, Love and Light to you and everyone ❤
That quilt might be worth something, seems like I heard people collected them.
There are people out there who create junk journals. They would be very interested in some of the ephemera. Old letters, receipts, photos, stamped envelopes, and such, could be bundled and sold.
It's absolutely true, it's sad. But ur right, about the personal belongings. I came across ur video, really enjoying it, thank you for sharing. Also, congrats, on ur findings.😊
G R E A T video Sir! Another great adventure. Love the touches of sarcasm. Also so cool you let the hauler look inside. You da man!
Your a great guy looking for the family be safe out there
always check stamps on old envelops, never know when you'll find a rare one or collect and sell as a starter collection. thanks for sharing!
Yes!!! Been looking for to the semi trailer unboxing! I've bought one with unknown contents at an auction before as well. It has a converter dolly and I pulled it home with a John Deere and caged trailer brakes. Backroads only as it was similarly sketchy! 😁 Always an adventure.
The kidney bean wheels are among my favorites and I had Ansen Sprints on the 55 Chevy I had 50 years ago. Great find along with the old legal tender and the memory suitcase. Life passes quickly as with my parents in the past few years. We saved their photo albums but most everything else is gone. Great video as always
Cherish the pictures going to print mine out soon
Fun explore! Please let us know if you find the family that suitcase full of stuff belongs to 😊
I agree with you about the stuff . I know I have a bunch of stuff as well and it's totally just a bunch of stuff. Make memories with family always ❤
Silas you are a great minister of Life really enjoy when you make us stop and keep our memories.
A pre war silver certificate 1 dollar bill, I think, is worth $100 or more. Depending on condition.
When you were opening that up I was thinking about Geraldo Riviera when he opened Al Capone vault and it was empty. This was a fun one. Thanks for giving us the follow up. Peace
I can see a "Junkyard Art Gallery" operating in conjunction with "Junkyard Treasures"! 😁 And yes, it is sad to see how many mementos get left behind, really puts things in perspective for me as well realizing that stuff is just stuff. See it all the time at auctions. It is very rewarding when I can reconnect those people though. Got boxes of books with a bunch of Bibles in it this past year. I always flip through looking for cash, (and condition for eBay), but I found a bunch of newspaper clippings and mementos. 🤯 Was able to track back to descendants from the family history section and contact them about it. They said they'd went through all the Bibles but must have missed that one and were really appreciative of it! Turned out to be someone my wife knew from orchestra as well.
Love your channel 👍🏽 Subscribed and will follow you ❤️ The fact that you’re wanting to get those photos back to the family is awesome Take care Enjoy your adventures and enjoy your family ❤❤❤ Now we have to start from the beginning of your posts. You’re a sweet soul and really entertaining.
The cash find is cool. Wonder if any of those old stamps on envelopes are worth anything? Could be.
You might want to check those stamps on the envelope stuffed into the main envelopes.
Depending on if the glass was depression glass or old collectables they could be worth money, too!!!
That was fun , Can't wait to see the other trailers too. My grandpa used to say , " All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy " Go out and search the other trailers brother , lots of people love these vids . You'll need to get a cam to free up your other hand tho . Thanks for sharing Silas
The photos you could post on Facebook and make it public with hopes somebody would recognize the pictures. That’s how I’ve found people I lost contact with years ago. Worth a try.
Hi! New subscriber. I’m finding it weird seeing all the personal stuff in a semi trailer. Really enjoying your channel!
That bill is a silver certificate. Worth way more than face value
Don't forget the stamps value
Yes. The one dollar bill is a silver certificate. They are worth some money.
Thank you for these videos. I just discovered your adventures youtube site and am enjoying them very much, Paul
Hi Silas i hope you find an owner great show as always thanks
I love your channel it doesn't have the smell of bull crap! You could have easily planted something in that trailer but you keep shit authentic and real keep up the quality content!!!
That would be the bittersweet part of finding a suitcase full of cash instead of receipts. On one hand I’d be rich. On the other hand no one would believe me 😆
Somebody’s wife needs a huge buying spree for the house! I hope there’s at least $600 scrap in that trailer. Also, I want to add how much I enjoyed seeing that eyesore emptied. The silver certificate is very collectible, worth much more than modern dollar, and probably given in a birthday card. It’s not $600, but it surely ain’t bad!
That's SILVER CERTIFICATE DOLLAR IS WORTH AT LEAST A GRAND.($1,000.00) JUST LOOK IT UP BEFORE YOU START YAMMERING. (EST)
You might be able to get info from the recetes on the pictures or if any of thease people are alive
You've got a few good looking tires there.
That’s a silver certificate. Check the stamps that were in the envelope.
With the $1 silver certificate and pennies in crap condition, I'd jump at taking $50, and I've been collecting coins for 60 years. Condition and rarity matter. Those have neither. The slotted mags I like, the Cragars I never liked. Someone with a little utility trailer might want the slotted mags, if you can figure out what trailers/axles have the right bolt pattern and offset to take them. People quoting crazy high original painting prices for the prints cranked out in quantity, are crazy. I remember when the ability to turn in silver certificate bills for silver, was ending. Google tells me the deadline was June 24, 1968. My father had a store, and had been saving every silver certificate that landed in the cash register. Up until March, 1964, they could be exchanged for silver dollars, though I'm not sure whether most banks would do that, or you had to take them somewhere special. With a month or two left to go in 1968, my mother took them all to NYC (we lived under an hour drive from there) to convert them to silver bullion in the form of "unminted granules" of silver. Here is the procedure I found online at the US Mint to show where she must have gone: ---------------------------------------------------- To obtain silver bullion in exchange for silver certificates, a holder of certificates must present them in person (my note: by 6/24/68, don't try this now), a holder of certificates must present them in person at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York or San Francisco or at the United States Assay Office in New York or San Francisco. In the case of certificates presented to the two Federal Reserve Banks, the holders receive receipts which may be exchanged for silver bullion at the assay offices. In its notice in the Federal Register, Treasury urged holders of certificates who want to redeem them for silver bullion to do so promptly, since the exchange period is now nearing an end. The Department also pointed out that the two Federal Reserve Banks and two Assay Offices will make exchanges only during normal working hours, and said that if many holders wait until just before the June 24 deadline the exchange facilities may not be able to handle all requests. ---------------------------------------------------- I don't remember ever seeing the silver granules, so maybe she immediately sold the silver in NYC, or just got the certificates for silver granules, and sold those certificates. Or maybe my parents found some dealer in NYC near the Assay Office who just bought the bills and dealt with all the conversion to bullion and cash themselves. It was a wild time for all coin dealers, gold/silver businesses, pawn shops, and jewelers in NYC, I am sure. Earlier, when the copper clad 1965 quarters and dimes came out, and leading up to it, we kept all the 1964 and earlier quarters, dimes, and halves that we could, short of running the cash register dry during the coin shortage that caused. Fast forward to 1975, I took a $1000 face value bag of those silver coins we hoarded, to a coin shop, and walked out with $2890 to pay my first semester of engineering school. A bag per semester until we ran out of them and then my parents got out the checkbook for tuition, room, and board.
I still have 2 5 gallons full of 25 and 10 Canadian cents pre nickel, they were 975 silver until 1968, 1968 was 925 I think, and was the last year. I keep them mostly for my daughters. I also have few 20 french francs, that are called "napoléon" or "louis" depending on the year, it think I have around 15/20. I also have some french "écu" with old french king on them, Louis 15/14/16 and they are about the size of the old silver dollars. I don't know how they're worth exactly but it's from my family. I have 5 gold German reichmark from 1838 or 1888. Those came from my grandfather and are 20 rmark coins if I remember correctly because obviously I don't have them home. I wouldn't sell them because I'm afraid that the ghosts of my ancestor might come to kick me during the night. Each family member added something to the collection during their lifetime.
14:50 that old $1 blue note (silver bill) is definitely worth more than $1
Nice find in this trailer, the c in Franc is silent :) Some are silver, around the 50s and have some value
Lots of gold!!! Edit: Well I was kind of close with the Silver Certificate!
Don't fold that dollar bill as it will lower it's grade and value, a nice find Silas!. That mag wheel looks like it could be from a Pontiac GTO .
Cool finding old money! That was a 1977-79 Cadillac in the photos. Wonder if that Cadillac is still out there somewhere! Neat video though! Hopefully you can relocate the pics to the family.
Kinda sad to see someone's memories (pics and paperwork) just abandoned in some old trailer. Maybe the original owner passed away and these things got lost in the shuffle. Goes to show this life is temporary so enjoy it while you can.
Ohhhh boy ive been waiting a year for this! Ive asked about it several times lol😂
So have I !!
I said something about it just the other day.
That dollar bill is a silver certificate
Cha-ching! Thats at least $1,000.00 (estimate)
@@argonunya6768No way is it worth a $1000? It's in bad shape.
Oh wow, those old trucks in back behind you are amazing. Id love an amazing old truck.
That was great Salis thank you for sharing and your time was really great never miss a video and can't wait for next video thank you
Interesting stuff man. I think those buckets are Easy Way Cattle Care. Or Easy Way Cattle Care Cattle Oiler. Some of the best pictures I ever had was ones I found. It looks like you have a bunch of new tires to pick from 😂😂😂😂 I believe that one dollar bill is a silver certificate. My family still lives on the same property that my grandparents and great grandparents lived on so best of luck with your searches
The bill is probably a Bearer note. Pay on demand in gold. I grew up with that currency. It changed in '63 or '64, just before I went to Vietnam. Worth more than a dollar.
have you ever tryed goats for the weeds ?
Goats destroy cars by climbing on them
Good for you tracking down personal items. I subscribed bc of that. You have a good heart.
Unfortunately I still haven’t had any luck. I’ve messaged a ton of people but they were all dead ends.
1943 pennies are not copper. They're steel. And if you list too high, you just get crickets and you know to cut the price. I do that often. Auto parts though are so sporadic that you can get crickets for a year or so just until someone needs one, especially someone local. But other stuff is more consistent.
If you sell the coins and blue seal dollar bill sell them to a collector you will get more than a dealer good luck
Blue seal on the one dollar bill makes it a silver certificate i believe
This haz been Terrifico! Thanx Much, &Hava Greatday, N-Ks.2! PEACE.
I loved this video....thanks for sharing!!!
Match the names on the envelopes and start from there. You may be able to contact someone who owns them or are in the family! Would be cool for you and your wife to do that.
There was an envelope full of envelopes inside the suitcase. If this person was a collector, they might have collected stamps, as well. It's worth checking out.
Thanks for the adventure
the old quilts are worth money these days hundreds!
That dollar bill is a silver certificate and it could be worth more than a dollar
When you think about why someone would keep all of that money, it would seem they have fairly decent value. Make sure to get a second opinion because people do lie and try to cheat us out of true value. That 1$ bill is a C series silver certificate blue seal worth between $900.00 & $2,000.00 if in good condition.
You can also check to see if them quilts are worth anything as well.
Awesome always cool stuff always thanks 😎

I worked for a developer and had to measure up some houses and found several with old family photos and such. One was an old man’s house who had to go to a nursing home leaving a bunch of family photos. I felt much the same as you did here.
I'm a person that loves my family photos. Having to go into a nursing home and have no family to give those family photos to. That is very *VERY* sad. 😢

sad how someones life ends up in a pile of trash at the end. I bought an old chevy pickup from a homeless guy years ago, the bed was full of photos and stuff from when he was married with a house and kids. Really sad seeing the good times and knowing how it all ended...
