David Cross | Worst Daddy in the World (Full Comedy Special)
Emmy Award winner and two-time Grammy Award nominee, David Cross is an inventive
performer, writer, and producer on stage and screen.
David’s eighth stand-up special, David Cross: Worst Daddy In The World, is available on the 800
Pound Gorilla Media KZhead channel, and he will join the cast of the Netflix series, The
Umbrella Academy, for their fourth and final season premiering August 8.
David hosts the new podcast, Senses Working Overtime With David Cross, which premiered on
December 7, 2023 with new episodes released on Thursdays available on all audio platforms and
video available on David’s KZhead page .
In 2023, David was seen in the Julia Louis-Dreyfus film, You Hurt My Feelings, and the FX series,
Justified: City Primeval. In 2021, Cross starred in the National Geographic series, Genius: Aretha ,
portraying famed music producer, Jerry Wexler opposite Cynthia Erivo as Aretha Franklin; he
made guest appearances in the, critically-acclaimed HBO Max miniseries, Station Eleven ; and
starred in the HBO Max film, 8-Bit Christmas.
On February 12, 2022, David premiered his comedy special, David Cross: I’m From The Future , as
a livestream event available internationally on his website. David’s 2019 comedy special, David
Cross: Oh Come On, is available on Amazon Prime and Peacock.
David was nominated for two Grammy Awards for the albums, …America…Great, and Shut Up
You F***ing Baby, and his comedy special, David Cross: The Pride is Back, was named one of the
25 best stand-up comedy specials and concert films of all time by Rolling Stone in July 2015.
Other groundbreaking TV credits include Arrested Development, Goliath, The Increasingly Poor
Decisions of Todd Margaret, Mr. Show with Bob and David, Freak Show, and The Ben Stiller
Show.
In 2020, David received rave reviews for his starring role in the dramatic film, The Dark Divide,
and in 2018, he was part of the ensemble cast with Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep in Steven
Spielberg’s The Post. David released the indie film Hits, which he wrote and directed, and he has
appeared in numerous films including Kill Your Darlings, It's a Disaster, Abel, Year One, Waiting

I accidentally volunteered myself right up on stage with David when he performed at the Bardavon in Poughkeepsie, NY for this tour! I heard him say he needed a volunteer and just started running! I thought there'd be competition and wanted to get there first. Next thing I know I'm on stage. That's when I saw he was picking people who raised their hand! I got up there fast and he had his back to me. He eventually turned around and there I was. Much more story after that. All of it funny and a little fucked up. He let me stay and we did two skits together from scripts! I did my best to not fuck up his show and read the script well. I did great considering I'm not trained in this. LOL It was one of the top five best nights of my life!

@lon9047 He had me and the girl he picked on stage together and said this had never happened in 70 shows! But he liked it and wanted to see which one of us he'd pick. He said maybe we should fight for it. She said to me "bring it!" It was hilarious! After he picked me and she was walking off stage she said to me, "I'll see you in the parking lot!" I'm a 285 lb Marine and she was a stick of a thing. The crowd exploded over that one! Just a blast!

I love the way he unrepentantly simply drowned Boy Jesus, and then kicked him offhandedly - and that was the absolute end of the show. No qualification, no equivocation, no softening the bit, no "just kidding" - nothing. Love it!

I'm not religious myself, but my dad is, and despite disagreeing with his views, he does espouse the best of Christianity teachings. He hosted a refugee Syrian family. He teaches in the jail to help drug addicts. He volunteers at homeless shelters. I'm proud of him

Dude this is the worst thing I've ever seen lol. I've always like cross on TV shows, but I didn't laugh once. I watched like 3 different 10 minute segments of this special, and I didn't laugh st all, but even the laughs per minute were extremely low to his own audience... And they were laughing at practically every laugh break. His cadence and timing was just awful, and the material was all hackney and played out. I was pretty surprised to see such an overwhelmingly positive comment section. I couldn't imagine sitting through 1.5 hours of this

Cross reminds me a lot of Carlin; his comedy is so well thought out and delivered.
I would say a pretty big difference is that David draws out bits a bit longer than he should a lot of the time, but Carlin would always jam-pack in a million jokes.
Reminds me of Lois CK- many similar ideas and perspectives, questioning the status quo, exposing the absurdity of human nature and the beliefs that drive us as individuals, and the unspoken rules, religious traditions, or political beliefs that are all subject to change, yet unite and divide us in society.

I had a similar experience at a pool in PA near his weekend home in the Catskills. He was with his daughter (in the men’s locker room) and he had forgotten his bathing suit. Luckily they sold suits at the facility. I pretended I didn’t know who he was. I must be a good actor because he seemed to believe he wasn’t recognized.

this is just random but 44:10 when he starts talking about organics being a scam, it's true - i worked at an actual crop rotating organic farm (the owner would not let us even use bug repellent in the field) and we did not qualify for the 'organic' sticker because organic actually requires a bunch of additives our food was legit best at the farmer's market and nobody knew/cared
Same, family farm, with a small portion of fields set aside for organic farming. The only difference was the organic pesticides were more toxic as well as being less effective.

He's got 8 - all of them are listed on his Wikipedia (minus this one, as of right now). I don't think there's a video special for It's Not Funny, and the video from the "Shut Up, You Fucking Baby" special was released as "Let America Laugh"... and it's not really a standup special, more of a documentary from that tour, with clips of the standup throughout the documentary.

This is so great to see. I haven’t seen and heard Chris… well, damn, since he passed away in 1994. We were great friends from his Boston years, when we put together a good number of skits and fake commercials for WBCN 104.1 FM…. He was a powerhouse, brilliant, sweet, sometimes a little scary, but a pussycat deep down with a huge heart. I miss him very much.
