Hi , thank you for supporting my channel , very much appreciated . All I want to do is help a few people out with their soldering / desoldering issues , if I can then I'm happy . Thanks again , take care 👍
Funny. My friends and I used that method with aluminium foil to make a bowl for pot when we were wee lads 😂. This is more useful though! 👍🥂
Hi , your option sounds more exciting though 👍
I bet this is good for stripping and tinning enamelled transformer wire too, have to give it a try
Awesome 👏
Hi , thank you. Just a bit of fun really , I wanted to see if it worked , and amazingly it was pretty good. Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Neat solution no doubt.

Did you dip the wires in flux first and can this method be used to tin the ends of enamelled copper wire?

Hi , thank you for watching the video , very much appreciated 👍
Is that copper or silver foil?
Hi , thank you for your comment. The tape is type 3M Aluminium foil tape widely available from places like Farnell , RS Components, Amazon etc. Great for all PCB rework etc to protect parts while heat gunning , sticky backed so won't move while in use . Hope that helps , thanks again 👍
@@mrsolderfix3996 Thank you very much! 🙂
Hi , no problem 👍
3:34 - Did you burn your finger 🤔 Perhaps a sturdy holder would be a great idea, I would fear the thing tipping, spilling solder everywhere. Have you done several wires? - I would imagine it running low pretty quickly, and adding more solder to refill constantly would splatter flux everywhere around - but a neat solution, if not in a hurry to tin a few wires.
Hi , thank you for your comment . I can honestly say I suffered no burnt fingers in the making of this video , I promise. I did have the iron secured down out of shot so it couldn't tip over but I get your point . I reckon there was enough solder in the foil to tin a considerable number of wires before having to top up but I just wanted to prove that this method would actually work , I was actually pleasantly surprised how good it was . Thanks again for your comment and hopefully you to will look after your fingers 👍
Awesome 👏
