In the US i was used to showering twice a day (my skin produces too much natural oils), but my host family didn't allow showering twice because the water bill would be too high. Everytime you shower, you rins off all of your skin's natural protection layer, so it starts to produce more of it. Due to showering twice a day you pushed it to a level of overproduction that can only be reversed if you shower less and don't stress your skin as much anymore.

    • The funny thing about Berliners is, that a lot of younger people trying to make a living with supercrazy inventions, earsocks in this case. Most of German's population are renters, not homeowners. Rent prices went ridiculously up by more than 400% in the past couple of years. A typical conversation if talking about rent would revolve around how much you pay. Thus the reference that one of the contracts is from 1960. The older the contract the cheaper the rent. Another thing that is going down for several years now is that people are handing down stuff they don't want and need, but is still in good shape, for free in the streets instead through a garage sale. The idea is to re-use it instead of buying new stuff (the dress). If you live in the center you are usually using bycicles, public transport or short term car rentals or going by foot. So there's a chance that you can find handed down stuff just roaming the streets. This is an environmental idea. Don't produce new stuff, re-use old stuff. I hope this give you some ideas what the video is about.

Of course more frequently during spring and summer, in the winter not so much.

Last summer, there was a busted oped clothes donation container on the street close to my workplace and a homeless man came to inspect the goods. @nommh@nommh3 жыл бұрын
    • @J H You‘re utterly right. That is why I said ‚identifying as“ because it is an act of convention, of choice. We all identify as many things. Do we sing in the rain, are we obsessively tidy etc. It is well that we just have to answer two of those things for our passports (and sad that gender and nationality are made such a big deal). Idenfifying as should not burden an individual with a host of gendered assumptions. You are also right about the misogyny that currently prevents almost all men and a very high percentage of women from wearing dresses and skirts. This is in part, because the daughters, grand and greatgranddaughters of the women who fought to wear trousers now think trousers are the better garment. Then there is a still male dominated clothing industry who simply does not know how to make dresses comfortable and warm. I on the other hand can sew, so I know exactly what to do make my clothes fit my daily needs.
