    @Soraakids@Soraakids Жыл бұрын
    • Using the hand instead of elbow initially presents more opportunity for the underhook for the top person which can lead to arm and choke attacks. It saying never, but usually it’s not a good idea.

    @paultaylor107@paultaylor107 Жыл бұрын
    • It they are high and you can't fit your hands in you may have to wiggle yourself out to make room. You could also bride up, hold, then put your hands on the hips when they are balancing in the air, then drop down and make whatever adjustments. Another option is to wrap your outside arm around their back, and the other arm or elbow depending on how close they are on the knee that you will be pushing into guard.. At least these are my opinion I'm sure he could tell you better

  • Is this your preferred way to play this spot? I usually go straight into half guard since the underhook is right there. You’ve forgotten more about BJJ than I know, just curious what the pros/cons are to working towards butterfly versus it *seems* like halfguard is closer?

    @WreckRod@WreckRod Жыл бұрын
    • I also prefer half guard. I was mainly concentrating on full guard replacement for this video to keep it basic, but I definitely prefer half guard myself.

  • Woulnt the first 10 seconds of your elbow positioning leave you exposed to exequiel choke and a whole bunch of different choke techniques?? Plus leaving that elbow trapped for longer than a second allows someone(not a White belt) to Just jump on your neck for a reverse triangle and a whole other set of techniques im sorry but this is something i woulnt do unless im Rolling with a White belt other than that very good explanation of the move itself. Humble opinión from a purple belt

    @jazmynperzchowski9820@jazmynperzchowski9820 Жыл бұрын
    • This shouldn’t take anywhere close to 10 seconds. I have to take time to explain things. This is a standard elbow escape used at all levels. I’m not sure what else to say, but it works for white to black belts. Nothing is completely indefensible, but you have to make space and moves to advance position.
