    • @MrDitkovitch Yes, if not then why would the motherboard support that ram capacity. You can read that the title says workstation, pcs like this are use in jobs related to data science to do a lot of calculation from the information from a lot of other servers or for the ones that renders very heavy 3d models.

    • It´s a workstation, the person buying this PC won´t care about it. It´s not to show off. It´s for work. The person who´ll own this PC will probably have it somewhere under his desk thus why there are no seethrough tubes filled with colorful cooling liquid and there are only a few RGB lit components.

  • Two questions about the RAM: A) Does the Asus ROG Zenith II Extreme (without Alpha) handle the 256GB of RAM? My experience showed that only the Asus ROG Zenith II Extreme Alpha (with Alpha) can handle it. B) Would you consider using RAM cooling elements (e.g. ThermalTake from CES 2020) and inserting them into the loop? CPU 100% usage with a lot of data also heats the RAM DIMMs a lot. Thanks, great video!

    @alexandrebroca9506@alexandrebroca95063 жыл бұрын
    • Answer to A.) It depends on what the CPUs maximum RAM is. Threadripper 3000 series can handle up to 256gb of RAM across any compliant motherboard. Answer to B.) that depends on the use case of your other components. Your CPU might be inadequately cooled. It’s better to check the cheap, or free solutions first

    • Yeah definitely not ideal. But with heatpads the plastic sheet actually doesn't reduce thermal conductivity as much as you'd think. With the Ram it actually shouldn't do much damage but for the VRMs it could get problematic as the put off a lot more heat. But since to my knowledge their are no sensors for that, he probably won't notice it until the VRMs might die someday.

    • I'v watched a number of his build videos and he forgets to take the blue film off of all of his GPUs. I don't think he knows you are supposed to do that (even though it's clearly stated in the waterblock instructions). Failure to remove the film means the pad never has full contact with the components. Very bad.
