    • Could you talk a little about the business of yachting? Specifically I'm interested in who the captain reports to, who sets budget and approves decisions. For example, when you want a new chase boat does captain go directly thru ownership for that approval? It certainly seems like the captain has alot more skills than just knowing how to handle a boat and manage a crew. Great work by everyone

  • Your little bird appears to be an autumn-plumaged Blackpoll Warbler. During autumn they migrate from the boreal forests of North America all the way to South America. They undertake one of the most impressive migrations of any small land bird. They often head out to sea from the eastern seaboard and over the Atlantic, not stopping for ~3 days/nights until they get to Colombia or Venezuela...except to land on any convenient ships along the way. Rest is what this little guy is seeking.

  • One thing that rarely is coverered in super yacht videos is the safety on board like life rafts and other safety equipment required by maritime law. Do you have regular safety drills and fire drills and what kind of information is given to guests regarding safety? Maybe not a glamorous subject for a video but I am sure a lot would be interested. Safe sailing from South Africa

In the aviation industry, when we fill out a flight plan, we have to indicate alternate airports on route in case of any emergency, Is this something that also applies to yachting? While planning your route, do you have alternates in case of an emergency or bad weather?

  • This Yacht looks huge at the dock but out in the ocean its a tiny cork tossing in the wave. I have been on a cruise ship through that same area that got slammed and lost control for awhile in the wind and waves and it was 1,000 feet long. Each time a yacht owner gets caught in rough conditions they begin dreaming of an ever larger boat.

Question - on any yachty video, whenever I hear South Africans talking, I never hear an Afrikaans accent, nor "die taal". Are the South African crews mostly English then? While not South African myself, I lived 17 years of my life in the lowveld, so there were more Afrikaans accents than English to be sure. Have been in the USA since the mid 70's.
