Clickbait..He didn't criticise anything about his lack of plan B
It's talksport...its how they became so well known in the first place
These titles are becoming horrendous mate. I heard most of this show live and knew these clickbait titles would sound severely dramatic.
It's funny, cuz it seemed like he didn't even think that managers should have plan B. Whoever wrote that title didn't even watch and listen to the video themselves
@@vedatkula5780 hahaha
Literally, if anything he defended him 😂
Simon has become Spurs' best defender this season.
He’s a Levy defender
That's why all Spurs fans hate him
@@Jahno71There is unfortunately a whole load of Levy lovers in the fan base who think that charlatan (COYS Daniel) is a business genius
@@SteveCrokeHe's a great conman also the load of BS he's told his fans and they fall for it every year well serve them right they get what they deserve.
@@SteveCroke I've been going to the Lane since 79 & I have seen good & bad chairmen come & go. Overall I would classify Daniel Levy as a decent chairman.
I find it amazing. Ange has had 1 season and has maintained a European spot in the League all season. After Mourinho and Conte, allegedly top managers, he has vastly improved the team. We will understand better next season. Let's face it Arteta was being villified by Arsenal fans because of his ineptitude.
I disagree, conte qualified spurs in his first season for UCL. And Mourinho got spurs to a cup final in his second season . Postecoglou has been figured out, his team's keep a high line and are easy to get at. Also vicario is obviously a soft target at corners.
@@shamadam1The defense needs to be improved but the high line narrative is so stupid, there's at least 3 teams that keep a higher line than Spurs and don't get the same criticism. It's also not Vicarios fault that other teams stick a defender on him to block his view and push him around, it's Ange's for not sticking a player on him to stop that from happening like every other team does
😂dumbass
Conte got us into cl and was sacked battling for 3rd spot😅 now all of a sudden we are a top 8 club now... hate these new fans that try to down our ambition😢 get rid asap!!!

Thanks Martin O'Neill - every word he said is spot on! Ange needs time to instill the finer details but FIRST he needs to set the foundations of play
there is no point in listening to a loser like martin o'neill.
Like not marking at corners ? for how many games ? how long will Ange need to sort that out ? Us Spurs fans need more patience 😆🤣
Spot on 😂😂😂 he literally denies spurs having no plan B just to silently admit it at the end of each waffle session
Really? Emery’s first season makes “projects” a load of 💩 Up the Villa!!! 💜💙🦁
No plan B? There is no plan A
Tottenham losing 3-2 to a great team is no shame. It was a great game to watch.
I don't understand what problem Spurs fans have, they willingly wanted a manager with a nice style of play over finishing top 4 and they got one, he even has an Australian accent to top it off
🤣🤣🤣
They've got to give him a chance .. he's got to get better players in .. and also get rid of a few players
@@Chopper6958 I agree that kangaroos need to have a place on the board
I like Ange. So I hope the Shite in White sack him so he can manage a big club and they can get a Conte or Moaningho back to get them relegated.
Spurs fans really are living in cuckoo land. I mean, we have not won the league since 1961 and a trophy since 2008. Why would anybody think we will win a trophy ever again? We are the world champions at bottling it at the critical moment. (Champions League final, Leicester title season for example). Nothing will ever change because the fans demand attractive football rather than trophies. 🤷♂️
After watching the show, I can't stop laughing at the headline. Martin O'Neill didn't criticise anything about a plan b
Ange's plan B is to do plan A better..... and if you cannot your time in the squad is to be short....

It’s literally the same for every first season with ange as he works out who is consistent who plays well under pressure who can play his system - will be 6 or 7 outgoings and replaced with players who can play his system - also it’s ignorant to say he’s isn’t adaptable as changed set up teams different and changed during games but his basic premise won’t change - but if the midfield don’t press and switch off when lose ball formation is irrelevant
Simon who's always defending Levy's spending is now saying Spurs haven't spent enough? Whaaaat 😂
He also can't help but mention every time how much Arsenal spend to be where they are. Doesn't mention that Man City have spent more over the same period but we must bow down to to Pep at all times.
The two aren’t mutually exclusive. He says Levy is a shrewd businessman who has made Spurs a very succesful business but they haven’t spent enough on players like other clubs who are saddled with debt.
@@kirkabbott2092Kinda difficult to do much better than a treble and potentially a record 4 EPl titles in a row. Why would they be talking about City's spend in such a context? The whole point is about spending a lot and not winning, like Arsenal, or not spending enough to properly challenge, like Spurs. I really don't get your complaint here. City spend and win. Others spend and don't win.. They need to spend more and/or spend better.
@@kirkabbott2092That is because one team has spent to win trophies while the other has spent to finish above Spurs in the top 4, Spurs are more comparable to Arsenal
spurs have literally spent the same amount as arsenal since arteta came in
Admittedly Arsenal have spent big money on RIce and Havertz but how much did Saka cost, Odegaard Gabriel, Saliba, Trousard, Martinelli, Jorginho, even Raya so it’s not how much you spend it’s what you spend it on
Look at vicario, vdv and maddison. Although maddison has dropped in form they've all been great this season. Brennan was a bit expensive but he counts for home grown.
Gabriel Saliba Saka Odegaard Martinelli all bought for 89m Euros half the team so Simon Jordan doesn’t know what he’s talking about
Since 2020, Arsenal have spent £674M and Spurs £658M. Simon is intentionally misleading when he speaks.
My 2 cents on Spurs and Ange - This is the first season of Ange and the first season is about stamping a playing style and make sure the club follows the style. It's not the season to do minor changes during games because it causes confusion within the club and within the players ( keep in mind that this is a squad that played in a defensive style for 3-4 years) . I see Ange doing tactical tweaks in his second season when he has a more complete squad with players that he wants. Everyone needed a project with Ange but no one has the patience to go through the project. I have watched enough football to understand that the media and the fans are reactionary. We will see in a years time.
This is the best explanation on this. I am frustrated with Ange still.
100% this
///keep in mind that this is a squad that played in a defensive style for 3-4 years is that why ange depl0yed 2 CBs as strikers yesterday both scoring -one disallowed.
@@eriklee9462 Ange didn't deploy 2 centrebacks as strikers mate the system we play in able us to switch positions and be fluid to make sure we don't get marked by the opposition. Although Tottenham Hotspur are completely spineless, please give the manager a chance. He's not even had a full season yet and is sat 5th in the table. Ahead of 2 of last year's Champions League qualifiers.
Yet earlier in the season when everything was all rosy it was “Well Ten Hag is in his second season, Ange is in his first, why can’t Ten Hag do it”.. End of the season Spurs are 5th and out of every cup competition.. Ten Hag finished 3rd and reached 2 finals in his first season no?? Finishing 5th with Spurs is just bog standard, he’s done nothing.

Rich coming from simon saying spurs should spend 250 milllion pounds? when for years hes defended his buddy levy for not spending? which is it?
Whenever one of our key players gets injured, like most recently Udogie, the wheels come off Postecoglou's system. We saw it happen earlier in the season. Spurs don't have the luxury of having a world class backup for an injured key player, like for instance Man City do. We need have to have a back up plan when inevitably someone gets injured and then we are left with throwing someone like Davies into the mix, who has no business playing in Postecoglous system.
As an arsenal fan I admit Ange is great addition to the premier league
Lol😂

I have respect for Martin but aplanB must include set piece defence which at Spurs has been lacking under Ange
Entertaining football is when you have good vibes after the game because you got a result you were happy with. How a Tottenham fan can be happy with that result is beyond me.
What puzzles me that these players are capable as shown early season, I know Ange had injuries and players on country duty. The whole team are nowhere near that early season form and I am not really sure why ? Defending at corners is suspect and I have to disagree with Ange on this we do NEED a separate set piece coach. Martin side stepped a very good question, did Ange during the two weeks prep that we DID NOT look at defending corners and the keeper needs sorting when he is under pressure what is Ange doing in training ?
Good call bro 👍
Human nature....how soon we forget...Spur fans and Ange's critics easily forget the dreadful football under Mourinho, Conte and Nuno... is it perfect? of course not BUT they sold Kane...I personally enjoy watching Spurs game and wish them a top 4 finish (not a Spurs fan btw). Also it was probably a penalty at 1-0, especially with the easy ones refs give these days.
Levy isnt really trying to win the league.. Posty is his patsy
If Ange is insistent on zonal marking at corners and not willing to help Vicario, he'll have to change goalkeeper because every opponent is targeting them in the same way. I like Vicario. He's good on the ball and is a great shot-stopper but aerial ability is vital in the Premier League. Man City and Liverpool play attractive football but Ederson and Allison are tall, dominant keepers who don't get pushed around.
Struggling to find the bit where he slams him
This over playing out the back and often going nowhere is getting found out now. Old style getting the ball forwards quickly like the Utd under Fergie will hopefully come back as it’s far more exciting to watch.
Ange has literally said that he wants the basic style of play developed this season and that next year he will look to have different styles. 5th this year is not a bad position. Most fans said any European football is a step in the right direction. Let him make a few signings and have better depth. We weren’t awful in the game. They only had one goal on the counter and I think that Udogie would have closed him down if he was playing. If we took some of our big chances the game could have played differently. The real problem I see at the moment is set pieces and players not taking enough risks to create chances
I would replace every starting line up player except Van Der Venn
Players not taking risks to craate chances mean theyre scared of what happens if they lose the ball, ie in defensive transition. City and Arsenal (mostly) arent scared of that. So they dont trust their defensive side of the game, maybe rightfully so. Ange needs to address that. Also, Spurs forward like is weak anyway.
Hmmm - Spurs 100% do need to look at set pieces - they are playing against teams that are spending time and money in this area and they are getting caught out more and more - Arsenals strategy was very effective and they highlighted the potential weakness that comes with a zonal strategy - pundits are blaming Spurs but personally I think they should be praising Arsenal who had clearly worked hard on their tactics for corners in particular
Martin was excuse dithering as Spurs have no plan B as in a different way to play. It's what we are mate.
I'm a Villa fan and appreciate everything O'Neill did for us. However, if the headline is true, he's a fine one to talk about a lack of Plan B. He had 11 players he liked, no squad planning, rarely made a substitution, and stuck with his tactics of big burly defenders hoofing it to the speed merchants up front. Over simplifying it, I admit, but still it was so frustrating. He did the same at Leicester as well
Arsenal did not break Tottenham down. They never got behind the Tottenham back line. Only the Saka goal was quality from Arsenal.
There was no need to if you can score from set pieces .
David Raya didn’t have to make a save in 102 mins of play.
Why bother breaking them down when they’ll simply gift you the goals? 😂 Now let’s flip the script, where was Spurs’ quality goal yesterday?😂
Yeah Spurs broke down themselves gifting goals.
But that is irrelevant if teams can score at free will from set pieces, especially since it doesn't take a top team to master the set piece.
One of the better Talk Sport shows. Good discussion and analysis. Less sensationalism
He's doesn't have a plan b. Just a fact.
Spurs had a striker on bench in Richmond for majority of game while son again ran around like a headless chicken.the fans can see that son is a winger and play the bloody striker.
The problem spurs have is the same as last season, the 2nd half syndrome…we’ve gone from low block to ultra offensive but we still have this annoying 1st half problem, maybe we need to have the conte conversation where everyone said give the halftime team talk at the start!
if our keeper could defend corners we might of won lol
As a complete " outsider" with no foot in either camp I dont understand what Angie is doing at Spurs this year. After the Chelski game the Spurs fans were saying how brave he was and how happy they were ? Fast forward to yesterday Arsenal did not really start the game well and lost possession in their own third a few times, instead of Spurs pouncing they were content to get the ball then go backwards to their own half way line and pop it around without getting anywhere ?
Proper grown up discussion about football! Better than some of the ott stuff on this channel 👍😁
JW: "Martin could do it again (manage the best)" MO (1 min later): "I don't know what a Plan B is" Not likely then, is it?
First seasons under Ange, if fans do their research ends up like this, in fact worse, this is probably the first time he's had a team in the top half in his first season, outside of Celtic (that in itself due to the fact that they're a Scottish powerhouse). He embeds his philosophy in that first season, weeds out the players who are willing and able, discards the ones who are not a good fit, technically and personally. I'm so encouraged at what he's been able to do. People don't realise how huge a blow it was to lose Perisic and Solomon to injury at the same time, both for an indefinite period. His system relies heavily on the wingers staying wide, being good 1v1 and cutting balls back after winning duels. Many Spurs fans forget Pochettino's 14/15 debut campaign, when they thought he would transplant the Southampton playing style immediately and they woud top the league. Finished 5th, and conceded what was a lot back then, 54 goals, but Poch had started instilling his bravery philosophy. I believe Ange's version is better than Poch's. I think we're in for a treat as Spurs fans.
Well said 👏

To anyone who's saying he doesn't have a plan b didn't watch the game. 3-0 and Romero starts playing attacking mid at points. Look where he is when Raya misplaced the pass. Plan A, attack how we know best. Plan B, attack in a different way. Simply as that. At 3-0 down is he meant to go defensive and just hope to not concede more ?
Decent analysis!
Emery’s first full season… Ange is a PR dream, a facade
Football is a game of fine margins. Romero missed the goal by inches with a header, hit the post with another header and at 1-0, Van der van had a goal chalked off for a very very tight offside. That's football. What Spurs and Ange fell down on was their defending. The saka goal was horrific - arsenal went from their own pen area to spurs' with 2 passes - completely and utterly ridiculous. Their set piece marking also seems to be zonal focussed which whilst well thought through, it didn't seem fit for purpose on the day. You have to put onus on the players on the pitch to have tried and rectified that. You can't blame the coach for everything. They conceded really soft goals. And as for Plan B - Man City play the same way no matter the opposition. They go after teams and look to force their will and 99% of the time they come out on top. It is most admirable that Ange tries to play football. And I'm sure if allowed to reinforce with better players, they'll kick on next season. There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a team on the front foot. But inevitably it is a style that gives the opposition chances.
I like Martin he talks sense and knows how to listen to both perspective and break it down for the listener
I remember seeing Liverpool and Man City top of goals from set pieces for 2 or 3 years on the trot
How have they not mentioned the blatant fouling of the Spurs GK? This season so many teams are targeting the GK with zero interest in the ball. It looks more like American Football. Ben White was actively trying to push the GK into the goal.
Good analysis by Martin O'Neill. 👍
Tottenham finishing 5th will be a great starting point heading into next season, make no mistake Ange will not make any excuse for this season and expected improvement in season 2 in charge.
Everytime Arsenal are mentioned, Jordan remembers Arsenal never paid what Jordan demanded for Moses, then gets riled up 😂 the mug
Simon the perch is not just the last 20 years it’s grown from history which cripples the amount of successes spurs have and will ever have. Even in our so called bad days in the last 20 years we have still won the odd fa cup here and there.

It’s hard to believe O’Neil was a ever successful manager. He just talks nonsense, continually contradicting himself.
We’re on a rebuild and Ange has only just got through the door. Arteta finished 8th first season and even at Xmas time the Arsenal fans were screaming for his head. I’m 62 and have been lucky enough to see Spurs win trophies,so for younger Spurs fans I think Ange could be the best manager I’ve seen and i started going to Spurs when we were in the 2nd division.Give him time .COYS.
I love watching mi guapo. I mean, I can tell when he's interested and intrigued by guests....😮 And when he's not .......😆
We need someone like Danny Olmo to strengthen our midfield, also a world class striker is a must cos Richarlison isn't it.
How does Martin not know what a plan B is?? Each games requires different things. That’s what the spurs fans are arguing for, he is playing the same way against every team. Surely Martin changed his plans with each game/opposition when he was manager.
While the football has certainly improved under A.P, defensively we look vulnerable & catastrophic most of the time. I never feel comfortable watching the team against anyone at the moment. Conceding goals time & time again doesn't win trophies or achieve tangible success. It needs addressing now. Ardiles played a similar style of play in the early nineties with Spurs but the wheels soon came off resulting in his sacking. I hope Ange doesn't meet the same fate.
People forget Ange first said "we have to change the culture then we can look at a plan B"
Its not just about throwing money at something, hasnt worked for Chelsea or Man United. Artetas record is up there with Sir Alex and Klopp for games taken to win 100 games.
Spurs has spent as much as Arsenal recently, Simon. To say that Arsenal are better than Spurs due to spending is false. Look at the money they spent on Richarlison, Johnson, Romero, etc. That alone is nearly 150m. Don't forget Sprus beat Arsenal to CL in 21/22 so they wasted that opportunity to leverage that. Arsenal has become way better than them since due to better diligence. KSE is a bad owner, but he is clearly achieved more on the pitch than Levy. Tottenham also earn more money than Arsenal, by the latest released revenues. And as transfer revenues are based off a club's financial status, then they should be able to spend more money than Arsenal. Tottenham's faults are all down to Levy. Nothing more or less!
I agree, add Pedro Porto, van De Ven, dragusin, Werner on loan and if we go back , ndombele 68m, Jed Spence , Emerson Royale. Spurs have spent alot of money. The reality is Postecoglou has been found out. And all the teams figured out vicario is weak at corners

Isn’t it funny how these same pundits never slam David Moyes for his lack of a Plan B. In fact quite the opposite. The “be careful what you wish for” trope gets trotted out constantly. The hypocrisy is palpable. Seems like foreign coaches are fair game for TalkSport.
O'Neil just argued with himself for 10mins or so
Plan B is being proactive. When something isn't working, you should have another approach. How hard is it to understand Plan B?
Ange bought the 3rd most expensive player IN THE WORLD in the January window…
Spurs biggest problem (among many smaller ones) is the same as it’s always been; and always likely to be- namely there’s a bigger, more successful, more popular, more viable, greater reaching global entity just down the road. If Arsenal were sitting in eighth then spurs fans would be delighted with the season. That’s been spurs since I’ve been alive and it’s been Daniel levy’s strategy since his day one at the club. All that money spent in facilities and stadia etc etc to be where Arsenal were in 2006 obviously without the trophies. Spurs want to catch up to Arsenal always have always will. That feeling is never reciprocated. The moment spurs look to themselves and set their own path they could be dangerous but the fans won’t allow it, Daniel Levy can do nothing other than replicate the Arsenal business model and the club is always going to be measured against the bigger neighbours. With all that in mind if the club doesn’t (and never has had a plan b) why would Ange bother with one? His tenure at spurs is ultimately dictated by how succesful Arteta is anyway! If Arsenal win the league this season the pressure on spurs will be immense and the first sign of a slip and he’s done. If they don’t win the league but start next season the same as the last two then again slightest blip and he’s a goner. The only thing that’s going to get Postacoglu anywhere near a third season at spurs is how Arsenal perform. So why would he compromise his style? Spurs haven’t for thirty years
Simon spot on regarding Arsenal. Mikel is a fraud, and has spent to put arsenal on the map. He'll buy a pacey striker next, but he won't coach one or develop one. He'll be readymade. That's managing, not coaching.
Martin "DEY DOO DOO" O'Neil 😂
