Patanjali Maharishi - When Energies Reach the Ultimate Peak

The first painting in the Spanda Hall murals is that of Patanjali Maharishi - the founder of modern Yoga. He is depicted as half-man, half-snake - a symbolism that he is beyond the dualities of life and has attained to ultimate union or Yoga. The cascading snakes from Patanjali Maharishi’s hair represent descent of kundalini, or a cascade of divine energies for one to receive.
