The random out of nowhere dance after this scene is the true masterpiece
1:12 Pure Badass!!!
For me its the dance when he goes in for the kill
Me too
For me it's when the gang arrives
The firework
The bgm fr me
It’s created by Stephen chow himself lol
0:44 that psycho smile, nailed it

@@PunkPaine maybe he is so rich he just asked the dentist to make his teeth crooked like that. LMAO

Other boss: "Wait, remember I treated you to dinner?" Brother Sum: "Yes, and the dimsum was RAWWWWWW !!!"
*Chopped him into pieces by Axe*
Other Boss: “Well, yes, it’s a custom in my family to eat Dimsum raw!”
There was no dessert though
@@c.galindo9639 “But you said you weren’t hungry and didn’t need them!”
@@tonymaverickzane6899 I lied. It’s common courtesy to give dessert
So this gangsters really thought that they are the most powerful... without even realizing that there are kung fu masters with magical ability exist.
They do.They hired 3 of them actullt
2 guzheng players and 1 final boss
@@qtclsimple9972 after get beaten by iron rings, spears man, and kick dude
@@AnonozChong wow! that 1 final boss, in our native language Hindi they call him , 'Kaatil No 1' means 'Killer No 1' or simply 'The Best Killer'
"remember that time i treated u to dinner?" Lmao he asked to be axed .
Yup he seemed to be chill and dancing until he said that
Fr
I don't get it
@manyxtavinas My best guess in that in Chinese Gangster society treating somebody to dinner is a huge sign of respect. BUT this probably happened when his Gang was stronger than the Axe gang. So he was basically saying "We used to be on friendly terms so let's just talk this out." However since he only said that after his men were killed and he got his foot cut off it shows that he underestimated The Axe Gang and therefore had to be made an example of.
@@stevencoffin328 the context is , the hat guy reminding axe leader when he was poor and he treated him to dinner . Thats the way he said it .
Stephen Chow's humour.
I can't believe he even Become Goal keeper in the Shaolin soccer 🤣 and surprised that he looks like Bruce lee without the moustache.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I laughed my lungs out when i got the point.
@@mohammedware4664 IKR sadly he got beaten so hard in that film 🤣
Dude you made me realize he's the goalkeeper. Thank you.
He played the Bruce lee role in the new ip man movie
@@kazisherpa7916 yeah i realize that.. he really was the best choice for the bruce lee films.. since he has some similiar face like the original bruce lee.
When I’m asked to do the dishes, I always do that dance.
How many dishes did you break?
Too much.
I always come back for this shot 1:11
The dance was outstanding 😁
I really like the intro to the gang in this movie. You don’t expect it to be an action comedy
That dancing move can compete with bully magurie
They don't make these kind of movies anymore :(
HK is history.. they will be miss
These kind of movies are so unique. Quentin Tarantino is kind of similar. Jackie chan and bruce lee also made similar movies in older times but the kungfu parody and surrealism sets its apart from them.
@@anonymousman1282 Yes you're right. QT also almost have this style
@@anonymousman1282 QT is a fan of HK cinema , he studied them when he works in a video shop .
The minimum requirement to join must be able to perform the dance.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Really need these kind of movies to be made. Frequently.
That would rule. Once every 5 years would be optimal. Don't want tropes to get stale.
The most powerful gangster always kill the opponent with dancing Axe Intro..
Basically high ranking Triads in a nutshell
I remember mimicking his dance so many times back then. Smooth
Bad guy who dances everytime
I like how theres no scream when he chop him, is just straight silence
Yes. ‘Twas a nice touch
Best psycho gangster dance since Mr Blonde in Reservoir Dogs.
The dance man the dance was legendary
Such a great film.
That Axe which he threw is remote controlled 🤣

1:00 Thats...is one..SHARP axe...
This movie has so many impact on modern Chinese Tik Tok. The axe gang dance used to be trendy on Tik Tok several years ago, the ost of this movie was also used as sound effect sample for lots of tik tok videos nowadays.
At first glance, they looked legendary.
Guy literally AXEing a question before murdered
that move before he cooking was so damn cool
I like when he move his hand for the axe XD
Now that I'm an adult, I'm finding Danny Chan Kwok kwan weirdly attractive in this role 😂
This movie is a masterpiece
Too underated
I hope to see this movie in theaters with big screen and amazing sound
Nó đã ra mắt từ 1999
Epic film 👌
0:50 that sounds of Tommy guns , I like it .
always love the dance
That tired look, that smile , the way he talk..😂
This is the greatest kung fu action packed movie it's always #1 for me then there is the the first matrix which comes 2nd
The exact translation for "your men signed up with us" should be "your minions have all gone to learn Cantonese". The two gangs here speak different dialects, presumably implying their different ethnic origins and the ethnic and regional tensions within metropolitan Shanghai.
Is there a difference between mandarin and Cantonese, I'm stupid
@@patriciajin6206 to oversimplify it, the two languages can mostly be translated to each other word by word, following mostly the same grammar, but for the same word the two languages often have different ways to pronounce and write it.
The real gangsters🔥🔥🔥
One of my favorite movies
1:23 must have been a pretty lousy meal then.
0:50 axegang: "watch out the bullets are coming...!!!" 🏃 🤗

Pls make this movie once again😭😍
Aww you skipped the scene where the police had count the money to pay protection to the axe gang.

The axe ganster boss was the actor of Bruce Lee
He also played the goalie in Shaolin soccer
That's after he got his new dental plan.
Miss all old day..
A sure kill strategy is when you have a thousand strong army against 10 unarmed individuals. 😁
Yet the boss just one slap he died
The 4th brother went for the kill
Axe Gang 👹
That dance from Reservoir dogs?
Where's the gang flash mobs dance?
The most epic movie scene

Kangen film steven chow . Mengapa gk bikin film lagi???
Soalnya dia sekarang lebih aktif dibelakang layar jadi produser
Sudah berhenti jadi aktor, sekarang dia jadi sutradara
Because he too old for this
bangkrut kalau nggak salah. filmnya ada yg gagal pas covid, dia pakai Dana pribadi+utang buat produksi filmnya

The translation is actually so bad... in the translation he said ur guys joined us but acutally he said they learned cantonese wich in some way means the same but is funnier because the axe gang guy spoke cantonese while the other spoke mandarin (sorry bad english)

Yup
1:10 If you don't love what you do, why bother doing it at all?
The Axe Gang Boss is Bruce Lee in Kung Fu Soccer.
Their boss had a lot of flavor. This gang would have been infamous, had they kept it a serious movie throughout. Missed opportunity to put Asians on the gangster movie map.
1:00 and 1:01 are different angles...
Before he become Bruce Lee... 🤣
蒼天の拳?
MCU past vs MCU then
Compared to his much earlier efforts Chow's work in Kung fu Hustle ranks very near the bottom. It was good for export, but no where near as glad as his work in the 198Os and 199Os.
Yeah, agree... Kungfu Hustle was kinda plain and Stephen seemed like had no more idea how to impress the audience anymore
@@bennysusanto5524 I disagree. Kungfu Hustle is well received globally exactly because it's "kinda plain". It's not full of joke and references that are hard to understand if translated unless you're native speaker. Similar to Shaolin soccer. If you look at the older Stephen chow film, you'll agree with me. It's hard to understand the joke even if it's translated, that's why Stephen older film is not well known globally. I think he did this on purpose starting with Shaolin soccer and Kung Fu hustle. I mean he already famous in hong Kong so why not aim for global?
@@apakes8352 I'm not a native HK and it's not just about the native jokes. But the whole creativity. A lot of non Chinese understood his movies from 80s and 90s no problem.
