While the program typically takes around 4 years to complete, which includes research and teaching practice, it's important to note that funding for the entire duration of the program is not always available. As a result, many students/researchers have to work part-time or actively seek funding from external sources, which can prolong the completion of their PhD. For more information, you can check the websites of individual universities for their PhD programs in Finland.

The more common usual way to explain why people tolerate higher taxation is that people can see how the collected funds are used to benefit themselves directly or the society in general, which indirectly benefits all living in the society.
