  • Ledall would be ashamed if he saw this, Fiore would cry, and Meyer would be sick

    • You mean fiore would go on a classist tirade about how peasants are dressed up in armor and bastardizing the art.

  • They're swinging it like it's 50 pounds, and the actual Zweihender is only about 6.6 pounds. Terrible.

    • The title refers to the type of sword used.

  • Is it in the US? Knights should be with shotguns then

    • After 2 days at a show, performing for the audience, yes the knights do get tired.

    • @@MedievalCombatSociety-py6vlits the armour thats heavy. Not the swords. Imagine how tiring it is to go running and lobbing a sword about in 40 lbs of armour.

    • Zweihänders are 4.4 to 8.8 lbs, distributed across 6 to 7 feet. The "heaviness" depends on how long you have trained with it. It is quite heavy for a beginner, to hold weight on a stick 6 feet away.

    • the first few swings are not heavy but soldiers used to get in combat fully armored let alone in the hot sun in a piece of metal and after half an hour (if you managed to survive) they would be completely exhausted however i can see a lightly armored two/hander who can archieve better results since heavy armors has quite the insulation inside hence making you exhausted quicker

    • @@MedievalCombatSociety-py6vl i'd suggest getting in touch with HEMA scholars, this choreography might be the worst, most stereotypical "knights were slow and heavy" trope I've ever seen. This is not how medieval fighting was done.
