  • Must appreciate the skill and innovative techniques. Even if it works half the life of a new one, still great, as they have added value and given life to a dead battery. Of course, nobody from the West will go there to buy it, it's made for locals who can't afford a new battery. When you're fighting with hunger, the environment & health risks go down the drain.

  • They're downsizing the battery . Not only are the plates smaller , but the number of plates are less , space made up with padding 18:32 . Buyer be aware capacity is about half that of original battery. It would be the same amount of work to use correct size plates and no padding , the battery would be same capacity as original.

  • The number of plates determine the voltage, if you noticed they got one box of plates of one size. You can’t just fill the cavity with plates until it is full. The rebuilt batteries will have a lower current rating and should work as well as they are made.

    • @@user-zf5rz2iy7o then you’ll need to explain how placing two 6 volt batteries in series makes 12 volts. (That’s twice as many plates in series.)

      @billguernsey6419@billguernsey64195 ай бұрын
    • @@billguernsey6419 You should understand what is parallel and series connection, what is electrochemical cell and what is a battery of cells. Inside a single cell all plates of certain polarity are connected in parallel. Adding more plates (in place of that plastic garbage) increases current capability of a cell, but does not increase the voltage!

      @user-zf5rz2iy7o@user-zf5rz2iy7o5 ай бұрын
    • @@user-zf5rz2iy7o you do understand the concept of two? Any increase requires a doubling of plates, since the chamber was 2/3 full you can’t because physical restrictions don’t allow the required plates to add capacity. Any plates that are not equally matched by others will not contribute to the whole since current output is limited by the series of least capacity. So no you can not just add plates in an unmatched way. One third is available not one half.

And continue to help a subindustries to keep afloat and opperational as well. Not to mention the machinery those batteries go in to. I only hope that they do this knowing that they will not live long, they will grow dumb over time from lead poisening and that the ground they opperate on will be so toxic over time, that it can't be recomended for living on or possible be a hazzard for potential ground water. If they are well aware of that and still make the choice of doing this then they decided it for themselves. If its the case they don't know of this, then I am sad on their behalf watching how they slowly every day kill themselves, others and polite unknowingly. But yes its a great edducational video in what not to do!

    • I've watched plenty of these videos, I'm pretty sure most of hose replacement plates are brand new. There are videos where they make their own plates from scratch. And yes, it's as bad as it sounds, people breathing in lead oxide dust without much care. Oh, now I see. Yeah, those are used plates, weird how they are not using the brand new plates, I guess those batteries are on the cheaper end, because I know they also have access to "new" plates.
