It's not necessarily their fault. The controversy over certain decisions made during development led to really low player numbers. The studios probably felt it wasn't worth the effort to update a game that was getting so much hate at release.

Know that since quite a few months, some clan called BoB have started hosting their own servers on BFV and BF1. They provide active admins, cheaters are banned within a matter of minutes. That BoB clan single handedly revived the entire BFV/BF1 community, because indeed, I remember until last year, every server I joined (BFV) contained at least 1 cheater, ruining the entire game. You should try it out again, just write "BoB" in your server filter, enough choice.

Kernel level anti cheat is a double-edged sword, however. It gives deeper access to computers to find cheaters, but that makes computers more vulnerable for the same reason.

Yeah I was like "Oh hellll no". I avoided playing Valorant for this exact reason. Don't bring it to Battlefield :(. The easiest thing to do is to bring back servers you can rent with admins monitoring it. Oh hell, fucking hire some people who monitor servers as a full time job. How difficult would it be to pay 3 guys being spectators and ban blatant cheaters? That would trim a ton of them I bet

I’ve been a lifelong COD player. But in my “older age” of being a gamer, I find myself wanting a more casual, no stress, shooter. I can’t seem to find that happy balance with COD any longer. I’ve since turned to BF games, thanks to EA play, and my goodness is it a blast. Strictly BFV for now. Nice to see there’s still a loyal player base. Also binging your vids is awesome! I'm so disappointed that BFV takes place in WW2 however, theres no Soviet faction. The Soviets played a MASSIVE role in fighting Germany. There's also zero naval warfare. WW2 had massive naval battles and we can't take control of any ship other than little PT boats.

I know there were a lot of issues with 5, but I LOVED the base building. I really want base building back in a future title, as it FINALLY gave defenders something to do while not being actively attacked by the enemy. I also just loved the concept of constructing my own fortified killzone.

@@EggZema_ well, that's pretty much the issue with everything. Why buy a car if a thief can steal it and everything in it? If you're defending, it benefits you to have those fortifications.... If you get overrun and the objective is taken, well, sucks, should have been a better defense yourself.... Now, all you can do is hope your team/squad is better at offense. The fortifications can always be blown up by either side. You also get points for building them. I'd say it's detrimental to your team and yourself to not build them in fear that the enemy will use them against you. It's all just a part of the game.

I'm personally against kernel level anti cheat, not because im a cheater im very much against it but look at the apex tournament where the cheaters used an exploit to acces the tournament and give players hacks. Anti cheat can work just as well without giving a possible backdoor into the most vunereable part of the pc. The only way to play battlefield 5 was custom servers

The kernel anti cheat in Apex had nothing to do with the hack. It was most likely an infected PC, a game client being able to send commands to the game server or a compromised developer account with high level access.

I played a bit of BFV recently to collect footage for a video. It's so surprising how the automatic fire is easier to control in a WWII game than it is in the futuristic setting of 2042. 2 years in and still we've got a recurring bug with recoil. The gunplay in previous titles was so much better (because it wasn't busted).

Not a fan of this map as infantry, I tend to man the AA guns and be the bane of enemy pilots, you can always tell when you are doing a good job as AA since YOU become the target rather than bombing the objectives

So, someone hacking them means they can get into your stuff too before any other security measures are aware of it. Love it but hate it, because EA's anti cheat doesn't support Linux, where I have put 500+ hours in this game. Battlefield V is my go to comfort game, when I dont know what else to play. And by this change, I wont be able to play anymore in the future.

It's nice to see that the EU server chat is still readable and not full of hackers spamming respawn cheats. As an Asia server player, I'm kind of tired of playing this game because when someone's team is losing, they start spamming cheats and activating trainers that make movements ridiculously fast

I'm not ok with it, I am well aware of the POTENTIAL problems giving a program kernel level control can have. It's just it's better than nothing, and EA isn't gonna go deleting random files off of your computer. While it has happened before, a bad actor gaining control of a kernal level anti cheat is unlikely, since despite EA being EA, they atleast have some semblance of security being a big company. Not even Easy Anti Cheat has had any incidents I am aware of. @@Niklas2516

Battlefield V was always a stellar game. The graphics, gunplay, scale of the levels, audio design, campaign, squad play, was all flawless and whiny gamers immediately buried it from one trailer. I'm honestly glad this game didn't cover D-Day for the billionth time and actually did something interesting with World War 2. I hope DICE returns to WWII again.

There was a sudden death mode in grand operations where everyone only has one life, small TMD style map with dynamic weather turned on. This should be a separate game mode! I only experienced this once, but it was super fun!

It's not necessarily their fault. The controversy over certain decisions made during development led to really low player numbers. The studios probably felt it wasn't worth the effort to update a game that was getting so much hate at release.

Know that since quite a few months, some clan called BoB have started hosting their own servers on BFV and BF1. They provide active admins, cheaters are banned within a matter of minutes. That BoB clan single handedly revived the entire BFV/BF1 community, because indeed, I remember until last year, every server I joined (BFV) contained at least 1 cheater, ruining the entire game. You should try it out again, just write "BoB" in your server filter, enough choice.
@@pj47bf there are still cheater on there servers, as i play them only when playing BFv and you still get them but its more people that try and hide it or high lvl accounts that get away with it on there.

Have you tried playing the BFV ROBOT servers? I haven't met any cheaters in them
#1 reason I abandoned playing BFV. The blatant hacking just destroyed the game in my region. If this works I might go back to it as I never got to play the Pacific.
Kernel level anti cheat is a double-edged sword, however. It gives deeper access to computers to find cheaters, but that makes computers more vulnerable for the same reason.
Not just more vulnerable, it *completely* bypasses any security your computer has. People thinking kernel level access for *anything* is a good thing blows my damn mind.

The greatest trick the devil pulled was convincing people kernel level anticheat is a good idea. If they really did care we'd see server level anti cheat, not a security nightmare lurking in the background of your PC 24/7.

I’ve been a lifelong COD player. But in my “older age” of being a gamer, I find myself wanting a more casual, no stress, shooter. I can’t seem to find that happy balance with COD any longer. I’ve since turned to BF games, thanks to EA play, and my goodness is it a blast. Strictly BFV for now. Nice to see there’s still a loyal player base. Also binging your vids is awesome! I'm so disappointed that BFV takes place in WW2 however, theres no Soviet faction. The Soviets played a MASSIVE role in fighting Germany. There's also zero naval warfare. WW2 had massive naval battles and we can't take control of any ship other than little PT boats.
To be honest this game gets more players than 2042. This should be already done.

I know there were a lot of issues with 5, but I LOVED the base building. I really want base building back in a future title, as it FINALLY gave defenders something to do while not being actively attacked by the enemy. I also just loved the concept of constructing my own fortified killzone.
Its fun but actually doesn’t make any sense. When you captured the point you just leave all the fortification for the enemies
@@EggZema_ well, that's pretty much the issue with everything. Why buy a car if a thief can steal it and everything in it? If you're defending, it benefits you to have those fortifications.... If you get overrun and the objective is taken, well, sucks, should have been a better defense yourself.... Now, all you can do is hope your team/squad is better at offense. The fortifications can always be blown up by either side. You also get points for building them. I'd say it's detrimental to your team and yourself to not build them in fear that the enemy will use them against you. It's all just a part of the game.
Or you could go play the game and be of some use to teammates, sounds like you should find another game to play like mine craft.

The finger gun is an easter egg gun that you can get legally in some multiplayer maps
EA out here finding out cheaters are giving people more content in the form of unreleased guns, and that was the final straw, Anti Cheat deployed
This is great news, your videos randomly appeared on my feed one day, it was a bfv video and I enjoyed the video and bfv content so much I started playing, I love the game it has a lot of great dynamics and room for improvement while also being quite fun and enjoyable when there aren’t any cheaters.

Great they're adding ANtiCheat - it will be playable again. Cool you watched and enjoyed Masters of the Air. My father was a Tuskegee Airmen who was good friends with Lt. Col Alex Jefferson, so it was very cool to see his story included. But it was great to see the story about the 100th.

I'm personally against kernel level anti cheat, not because im a cheater im very much against it but look at the apex tournament where the cheaters used an exploit to acces the tournament and give players hacks. Anti cheat can work just as well without giving a possible backdoor into the most vunereable part of the pc. The only way to play battlefield 5 was custom servers
There was a ransomware attack that used Genshin's kernel level anticheat a few years back too. Giving kernel level assess to any program is bad juju.

the anti cheat has nothing to do with the exploit used to hack the players, if it did we would see it in other games, source engine is just horrible for security
The kernel anti cheat in Apex had nothing to do with the hack. It was most likely an infected PC, a game client being able to send commands to the game server or a compromised developer account with high level access.

I played a bit of BFV recently to collect footage for a video. It's so surprising how the automatic fire is easier to control in a WWII game than it is in the futuristic setting of 2042. 2 years in and still we've got a recurring bug with recoil. The gunplay in previous titles was so much better (because it wasn't busted).
I was in a squad with tommykicks just a few days ago. An absolute legend for sure. Well done Jackie Boy

Not a fan of this map as infantry, I tend to man the AA guns and be the bane of enemy pilots, you can always tell when you are doing a good job as AA since YOU become the target rather than bombing the objectives
Went back to BFV from 2042 recently and wow, the amount of teamwork there reminds me BF2. The breakthrough is still giving chills, especially on Pacific.

@@deshn21 EA can access whatever they want and inject whatever they want into your computer, by extension the government can too. And all it takes is for one hacker to find out how to use the backdoor for everyone else to be able to. It's a security risk and an intrusion of privacy.
@@deshn21 Because you're giving people access to everything on your PC. Specifically, EA and DICE, and as you know, even they aren't immune to hacking. So, someone hacking them means they can get into your stuff too before any other security measures are aware of it. You're basically asking why does leaving your doors unlocked harm the safety of your home and everyone in it.
Much like BF1, BF 5 was doing really well and we were all thinking about the up coming content and it was just dropped which was disappointing.
I don't recall 1 being similar to that. People were quite happy with the 4 expansions the game received covering several different fronts. I'm pretty sure people wanted more single player war stories in that game tho

Watched both of your videos recently on BF1 and 5 and honestly got me wanting one of them, not sure which to get though since this one has more players.
The missions in BF1 will make you tear up and will be a really good lesson in history
BF5 is way better. The graphics, the gun play, especially the sniping. The maps are gorgeous, especially the Pacific Maps. The game is on sale right now on Steam and EA Play. Get it ASAP.

It's nice to see that the EU server chat is still readable and not full of hackers spamming respawn cheats. As an Asia server player, I'm kind of tired of playing this game because when someone's team is losing, they start spamming cheats and activating trainers that make movements ridiculously fast

Kernel level anti-cheats are a huge security and privacy concern. It should never be encouraged.
Well it's one of the easier blanket solutions for anti cheat so it's better then nothing
@@blackcatthegreat182 I'm not judging anyone for being OK with kernel level anti-cheats but me and many other people will just not touch a game that has it. You are giving EA (and hackers) access to do and read ANYTHING on your PC.
I'm not ok with it, I am well aware of the POTENTIAL problems giving a program kernel level control can have. It's just it's better than nothing, and EA isn't gonna go deleting random files off of your computer. While it has happened before, a bad actor gaining control of a kernal level anti cheat is unlikely, since despite EA being EA, they atleast have some semblance of security being a big company. Not even Easy Anti Cheat has had any incidents I am aware of. @@Niklas2516

@@CrazyBloo There's tons of multiplayer games that don't use it. CS, Halo Infinite and Overwatch just to name a few.

I'm definitely getting this game on again on pc when this update comes out. Also I hope that they put anti cheats in other battlefield games like battlefield 1,4,3, and etc.

Battlefield V was always a stellar game. The graphics, gunplay, scale of the levels, audio design, campaign, squad play, was all flawless and whiny gamers immediately buried it from one trailer. I'm honestly glad this game didn't cover D-Day for the billionth time and actually did something interesting with World War 2. I hope DICE returns to WWII again.
They need to do that to bf1 now. The nostalgia hits, I download bf1, I see cheaters in 8-9/10 games, I uninstall, repeat.

There was a sudden death mode in grand operations where everyone only has one life, small TMD style map with dynamic weather turned on. This should be a separate game mode! I only experienced this once, but it was super fun!
