What the matriarch did is clearly a sign of ingenuity, intelligence, and emotional motivation. I love elephants!!

Why don't you marry one?

We got the lions…. Grandma. You get the baby.
The intelligence and compassion of these animals are greater than some humans out there.
One Third of "humans"!!!
More like many people.
Greater than most.
All females and juveniles ❤
This is why I absolutely respect, look up to and admire elephants. Their empathy and depth of emotions is always touching.

Watch male elephant see difference
The mother wasn't just freaking out, she was calling out for help, and the matriarch's family could probably hear her miles away.
@Nik Kingman What? Is that even necessary to say or is it just your favorite insult because you're an incel?
Maybe not miles away, but quite a few meters away.
@@blairsantillana no, actually, “miles” is correct. Under ideal weather condition, the calls can be detected by another elephant 6 miles away. On average, they can be easily heard from 3 miles
To be fair, the two mutually exclusive. In the same fashion that if someone is in trouble, they yell "help". Still technically freaking out, but it can also be a life saver, as is the case here. Have a good one, just adding food for thought.
@Nik Kingman that was so uncalled for and so what if they are lgbt??
There is a documentary that showed an Elephant Memorial. A female had protected the herd from a poacher but taken a shot to the side. She suffered for a few days and her family/herd wouldn’t leave her until she finally died. Weeks (possibly months, I don’t remember exactly) the herd came back and one by one slowly and very gentle touched their dead family member’s bones. It was literally a funeral/remembrance for her. Absolutely Amazing. That is a Truly Amazing level of Intellectual and Emotional Intelligence.
Yes you just jolted my memory as I remember seeing that footage many years ago. So impressive indeed.

Whats the name of the documentary?
I have seen a lot but this is something to see. The fact that those elephants came charging in after they heard the mother's cry for help is amazing. And then to see the elder elephant rescue the baby puts it in perspective for me. My whole appreciation of life and the world that we live in has changed since I've begun to watch these animal videos on KZhead.

fighterpimp: You are extremely uneducated when it comes to animal behavior and how it relates to intelligence and instinct. Amazing intelligence is displayed here. First it’s a unique situation that the matriarch almost certainly hadn’t encountered before. Secondly the way she turned and righted the young one is insightful. Lastly the way the herd acted together and circled and protected the young one and matriarch is very strategic. That strategy is common among elephants. You’re probably not intelligence enough to understand that this displays past learning and working out the simple puzzle of the trapped youngster demonstrates problem solving. This is not instinct. To test you I give you a fairly new pack of wolves as an example. Stalking a deer in early winter. As months progress is the pack likely to become more efficient at killing deer? Will they stalk and attack the same way in November as the following March? What is the instinct part of the equation? What is not? Careful now. E Blanco Ya and how can Lions want to eat them? We should shoot the lions instead.
It’s really easy for us to point our fingers at poachers in 3rd world countries and think they’re evil. But when you live in abject poverty with your family going hungry it’s not difficult to make a choice like that. People against poaching need to donate to create resources that will pay these same people to NOT poach. You can’t sit in your air conditioned home with a stocked refrigerator and tell someone in poverty not to do something that will help them drastically. I do realize that not all poachers are poor and starving and to the ones that aren’t , that just enjoying killing these wonderful creatures for the thrill of it, they are indeed evil. But I’d bet most are just in desperate need of money.

Woke up in tears this morning cos my life is a mess but this short video made me feel much better. How heartwarming!
Elephants are so beautiful and full of emotions and brains, more than I can say for many ,many human beings. They are so precious.❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️👍ect
Nothing as powerful as a mothers love for a child, to see the matriarch help as a family is touching and comes to show that we would stop at nothing to save our babies.... A very moving video thank you for posting...
A father's love is just as powerful..
You haven’t met my mother...
@@rigdzindrolma7148 You haven't meant my father or me in that matter.. I'm not saying a mother's love is not powerful because my mother was the same way. I'm just saying a father's love can be just as powerful.
Kevin Knight I was replying to Keeperofpeace. My mother’s love for her children was practically nonexistent. I have no doubt that a father can have powerful love for their child but this blanket statement that people throw around about a mothers love is nothing but words on a page for many people.
@@rigdzindrolma7148 My bad I feel the same way that's why I commented.
African elephants can rip trees straight out of the ground, but she's so gentle with him.
Elephants can control their strength and weight distribution better than any other animal on the planet. They can walk on egg shells without cracking them.
@@stevenharris2230 “They can walk on eggshells without cracking them?” Until I see a link your a snot face liar!
@@CurtainCloser21 firstly, they have pads on the soles of their feet and arms like cushions. They can regulate how much they can inflate or deflate. Secondly, it's you're, not your
@@stevenharris2230 I don’t care what your or you’re it is you are a liar plain and simple STFU! Drop a link or STFU!

Just beautiful. These beautiful animals have loving and caring hearts. The punishment for any human being that hurts them must be LIFE IMPRISONMENT, period.
What an amazing rescue. Nice work
Absolutely LOVE the loyalty Elephants have, people should learn from them!
@KAV SOLO lol you don´t get the thing, nvm
Yes..! You are right... And I would never ever kill animals in my life..! I ❤️ animals... 😍😘😢
@@maxx8011 I think KAV Solo got it alright.
@KAV SOLO I don't know where you are living but want to move there!
Elephants are more compassionate for their own than humans are for one another
I love all animals, but Elephants are just so, so special!
I agree nick b!
They truly are magnificent creatures.
.
What a beautiful thing for all of them to come together. Glad the baby elephant is k. It made my day alot better. Thanks to you all.
How do these special moments in the wild get filmed at the right timing this was beautiful.
Elephants, in my opinion, go way beyond just being cool.
Have you ever seen them visit the bones of loved ones and cry and mourn? It's crazy that we say we're the only intelligent life on this planet.
Mothers are Mothers, they are capable of doing anything to protect their kids.
Someone tell that to all the ones getting abortions. They'll do anything to kill their kids.
Except when it comes to children falling in deep water...... etc... Leave that to the men to sort out. The mother will just get herself killed along with the child. (Humans)
Its a family not a single mother bs like they promote
Very beautiful to see such love as was shown during the saving of the wee babe!
The original version of this clip made me cry that poor mama couldn’t get him free. The Saving Herd came Trumpeting thru the horizon dealt with the lions, while the bigger mama freed the Lil Feller. Both herds trumpeted in relief and Gratitude!!. Mother Nature’s healing power of The Amazing Elephants!. ❤
It's great to see that nature isn't always cruel.
Come on. Everything is alright with nature. Humanity is cruel, not nature.
"Cruelty" is all a matter of perspective.
