  • Dear Inga, That baby blanket is a work of art, even though you said that it was not very difficult to make.... it's stunning and such a beautiful heirloom piece. You are still glowing btw... motherhood suits you :) Ivana ❤

  • Your lace coverlet is a beautiful heirloom for both practical and special occasion use! When you or others make toys with eyes, be sure to make high color contrast eyes. These will be focal points that your daughter will gaze at while she's learning to move her eyes. I observed this with my own babies. Of course, when she gazes at you, that will be the best of all! Child development was my first area of study and work, and it's such a delight to see what one learns jump off the page of a book onto the behavior of a real child! 😊💕

  • Always fun to sit and knit with you… Those baby bassinets were very popular in the Alpine region, we call them „Stubenwagen“ in German and they used to be standard for daytime sleeping in the living room for young babies. We were lucky to be able to use my mother-in-law‘s from the 40s; it had such dainty pastel fabric from that time so I carefully sewed forest green ribbon edgings onto it to modernise it, it looked beautiful (this was 1991!). I think people find them old-fashioned now and sell them cheaply, such a shame - but I did just see one converted to a bike trailer this last weekend 🤣👍

You always make such beautiful knits. 🎉🤗 If you add blue to the yellow, purple and green it would be my husband and my favorite colors and the colors work beautifully together. 💛💜💙💚 Of course you don't have to add the blue and it'll still work great together.

  • I knit the Magnolia Tunic from Camilla Vaad & because I felt that the fabric might not be strong enough to hold the weight of the yarn & whatever I carried in the pockets. I knit the top following the pattern, but after the sleeve separation, I tried it on & decided where the garment weight needed to be strengthened and knit the waist using double yarn, then I went back to using a single strand. I've worn it to pieces & put my very heavy phone in the pockets & the fit doesn't sag.

  • Hi Inga I knitted two dresses last year on 3mm needles the increases where on the sides only (you increase 2 st. on every side: M1 knit3 M1) on every second row and then on every 4th row. I would not increase every 20th stitch to be honest ... after the increases you knit just straight . Love your knittings all the best for you , happy knitting

As mentioned in so many comments, you are glowing and what wonderful ideas for baby knits. I like your color palettes for yourself and your little girl. I have started my autumn/winter knits with the Trinigan by Andrea Mowry and some Halloween socks. I can only handle a couple projects at a time. • On the dress, if you want a true A-line continue the regularly spaced increases. If you want a straighter (but not form fitting) dress just do as planned and increase to the desired circumference then knit at that count until the hem. With fine, soft yarn either shape will be soft and flattering. The true A-line will flute at the hem due to drape and extra fullness. Two different but equally nice looks.

  • Intake, I did knit a dress, and it is going to not look good if you just stop increasing… it’s better to do 2, 4, or 6 triangles, or just increase distances for increases . Hope it’s helpful

  • The food stain comment is funny. I'm currently 37 weeks pregnant and it seem like I've become more of a messy food person as my tummy had grown. It must be a combination of eating more often, my spoon now traveling farther to get to my mouth because I have to sit so far away from the table and just general pregnancy clumsiness. Oh well. I'm glad you're not letting yourself get too upset about it. Anyway, I always love your videos, I've been watching since like the second episode. So, even though you don't know me, part of me feels like we're old friends. :) Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy!

  • That first gifted yarn you showed (cream, plum, black, tan) blackbird would be beautiful as a Scout shawl! It’s color work and you’d need a 5th color but a green would be beautiful

  • The Pirate Purls polwarth/silk base is absolutely divine! I picked up some last weekend at an Australian fibre festival. I spoke to the dyer, and she recommends Blackbeard for accessories and shawls, as polwarth is a very fine wool and will tend to pill with heavy abrasion. I think it would also be delicious for knitting very soft cuffs and collars on garments that have more rustic wools as the main body.

    • That is awesome! Thank you for the info! Il keep the pilling in mind

  • You might want to look at Gudrun Johnston's Bressay Dress pattern for its increase plan. I'm knitting it now, and its flare seems to be very nice.

  • Thank you for the inspiration! What’s the name of the last pattern you show, the cardigan from Sandnes? I can’t find it and want to see if that’s something:)

  • Hi Inga xx you’re looking so well xx I love all your FO’s and WIPs. The Woolly Thistle inCanada have a beautiful sampler box of non super wash yarn, and Stitches and Cream also sell British non super wash yarn based in Cornwall in the UK. Both have knitting podcasts on KZhead and you might enjoy their content. My daughter is expecting our first grandchild at the end of January 2024. We’re so excited and seeing you bloom in your pregnancy is everything! I’ve watched your podcast from the beginning and I love it xx

  • Hi Inga, Can you use a dress that fits you good for a model for your Cumulus dress? I love the felted slippers, they look so cozy. The black Renunculus looks great. You look great. Take care.

  • Thank you, Inga! Once again you have inspired me to continue on my knitting adventures! I will made the Claude Cardigan! I am currently designing my own garter cropped jacket. Just from some wool I once bought on clearance. But I long to follow a proven design! The one I am struggling to design myself is based on the Einstein cardigan. It had sideways garter , casting off and casting on for the arm openings. Then picking up stitches to knit the sleeves, and then sewing along the top of the sleeves and shoulders all on one go. I use a crochet hood to slip stitch that seam on the right side for a design element. I'm no designer, just making it to fit me. It's fun, but can't wait to knit the Claude!
