For tanks, asap get exalted with Tol Barad faction. The trinket is BiS till firelands and situational after. Its the only thing that lasts for the entire expansion for tanks.

Thanks a lot for the great content! Is the idea that the spreadsheet will be customizable to each individual players professions etc? Like for instance if it was a dynamic sheet that could factor in your desired professions (including whether somebody would want to do any archeology) and then output the most optimal path of rep grind based on what items will be obtainable for your choices?

Also, the Archaeology epics are super rare to proc onto, do not waste your time going for these unless you've fully done everything else for the day/week.

When cata first launches, anything with hit will be BiS for casters until they get hit cap. So that Wild Hammer 346 ring having almost a full 1% hit will def be something they chasing.

Silly question, I've changed my stone keeper shards into commendations, should i hold on to those and then use them in the prepatch? Or just them until honor cap and bank the rest? not sure if the commendation honor changes scale differently to the flat hoor -> honor point changes
keep the commendations until 85 once you start spending your JP cap, then convert honor into JP if you want the PvE gear or spend the honor on PvP gear then use the commendations to keep topping your honor up to either convert or use as straight honor
Since you the talked about crafted items as much as the rep farm Darkmoon cards are going to be insane Like legit insane... Better have an alt that can craft cuz it's gonna be the sought after items for both healers and caster DPS

I did tons of archeology in cata and only found the caster ring. Those items are extremely rare
You forgot a few items from archae. There's the cloth robe, the mail helmet, the agi 1h axe and the str 1h sword.
The robe and helm aren't level 85 mate and i mentioned the sword

Hope someone can help me out here. I've read from several sources that you only need 450 archeology to get such things as Zin'rokh. Does that mean I could basically start farming for it at level 80 once the prepatch drops?

Yes, this would be a good short video idea.
Gear pvp in cata is pretty much get your honor gear and then move on to the conquest gear. You can get Gear from questing/dungeons/raiding/professions. But it'll mostly be Honor gear -> Conquest gear

We got like 2 weeks minimum *bar any pushbacks or bugs in raid encounters* tull we can even pull a raid boss so... speeding is effectively irrelevant.
But the game is releasing like its the last patch, wouldnt that mean the orbs are probably going to be not bound? might just start as a tradeable function.
they didnt do it with frozen orbs even though the frozen orbs were boe on the beta so i would guess not personally but who knows
Tbh there is no reason to choose Vashj'ir over Hyjal. You only get a tiny amount of earthen ring rep from Vashjir, versus tonnes of Guardians rep + the Hyjal chain is required for unlocking the Molten Front dailies in the Firelands patch.
Hunters aren't on the spreadsheet, I assume they're the same reps as rogue?

I loved cataclysm, if you wanted to just do pve, all you had to do was pve, no doing quest lines, no fucking about with irrelevent side shit like exploring or anything. If i wanted to get more gear in pve, it required me to do pve. It's just kinda of like DUH

Transmuting truegold. So if you have any alt without alchemy, level it before pre patch, because they will change quest for Master Trasmuter or whatever it called. Making cards with inscription may be very profitable and inscription is cheap to level right now.

yea but its more about efficiency in terms of getting the highest ilvl pieces before the raids open because with the increased cadence it wouldn't surprise me if the raids are actually open the day cata launches and even if its not then it could be that thursday which is literally 4 days later

Cata was the first xpac where epic items of the same ilvl as rare ilvl items weren’t given more stats… it was the death of epics actually feeling more “epic” than rare or uncommon items… but I still loved the xpac.
Good guide BUT lets not pretend anyone will actually get the archaeology weapons from Tolvir, they are exceptionally rare, FAR more rare than the mount or the 2hander from Trolls etc. I had over 1500 Tolvir solves and never saw any of the Tolvir epic weapons on retail. And it's stories of people needing near 10 000 solves to get them, and the mount is about 100 solves on average and even that takes a long time.

So much overthinking. Since we currently have a Cata speed run on the Whitemane private server, there is a much easier way to go around gearing. If you are lvl 80 start hitting dem battlegrounds for the 352 ilvl pvp gear. This will probably be more important for dps specs since good luck getting into dungeon queues. Boomkins, shadow priests and ele shamans have an easy time getting the hit % up since they can convert spirit into hit through talents and the ele shaman 4 piece pvp ability gives charges to lightning shield that give your earth shock a boost once you reach 9 stacks. Healers can also go on this route since healing dungeons is rough at the start without gear. Doing arenas or converting some valor into conquest would also be helpfull since you cannot guarantee getting head/shoulders until ZA/ZG and the hour of twilight patch at the end. TL;DR: Farm honor points for 352 ilvl gear, pick up some tabbards, then switch to normal/heroics for justice and valor farm. Add some conquest points if head & shoulders are lacking behind.
I do love private server brain of being a solo player, literally no one who wants to raid seriously would do any of this and as for converting conquest to valor, you still have a cap so whats the point. While your wasting time doing battlegrounds to get 352 gear that you will replace in your first heroic, i'll already be exalted with a rep lol. And yes i've played on ridiculous amounts of private servers and the gear pathing is NEVER the same as classic. I mean you do you though if you want to waste time doing BG's for gear you are going to replace, you are literally just adding an extra step to what i have already broken down for no reason what so ever. Ding 85, create a walk group and do heroics, simple as that.
@@Scottejaye Aha, and you will magically get the 329 ilvl needed for heroics on the way to lvl 85. A walk group for heroics is a death sentence for anyone who isn't a part of a raiding guild and even then if the bosses are overtuned you will not have a good time. You are also underestimating the time needed to get all the reputaions to exalted. By the time you hit 85 you might be able to max out one reputation.

well for me personally with it coming in the pre patch im gonna be stocking up on max fragments and keystones for the faction solves i need so its gonna give me something to do during the pre patch outside of just levelling an alt but i do hear ya

Because the reasons that people hated cata have already been fixed. A lot of peoples frustrations with cata came from long content droughts. As its classic we know that all of the content will be out within a year. Another problem is DS, however people realize that DS is the end of the expansion so its a non-issue now
People liked Cata, they hated 13 months of Dragon Soul (specifically the last 2 bosses). The people that hate Cata because it blew up the old world are never going to play any version of the game but Vanilla, so there's no point trying to cater to them.

To be fair, a lot of people want to gear up a lot of toons for raid with first week.
Because the majority of the wow player base is like 30+ year olds who have kids/full time work/partners etc etc we aint 17 year old's with literally near zero responsibility.
I wouldn't say fast as possible.. but more like using our time wisely on what we need to achieve in game. There's no rushing with faction rep, it just takes time and it's useful to know which faction to get for your current class/spec. Would be rough to get exalted on a faction you don't get any epics with on your first run through. But that's just imo. Play as you wish (; no one pays for your sub, only you do [:
If you level slow you're behind. Trying to gear a month into the exp is a disaster. All the noobs are running dungeons. You won't be getting into a raid etc. Thr game has a clock.

cant wait for players to join raid and full clear all bosses in 2.5hours or less.... than all the prebis and rep farm will no longer matter especialy 2 or 3 weeks into the raid... Just level your toons guys and do archeology its fun xD No need to rush anything. Instead make some gold with proffessions and sell those pots and flasks to raiders or craft em some epic gear/ make them darkmoon cards and than u can just buy all bis gear in gdkps xD or buy gametime instead so you can slowly gear up while waiting for the worst expansion ever MoP
