Santino sits down in the Melbourne studio with the great Jimmy Carr! What a treat for you folks. They discuss, prohibition, charisma vs charm, and some of the finer points of stand-up comedy. Enjoy!

Jimmy Carr is one of the best podcast guests. Would love to see him make the rounds more often.
An intimidatingly guest, Santino didn't get the joke at 13:20, he had a fake laugh after it
Just search British Panel shows. 8 out of 10 cats, 8 out of 10 cats does countdown, i let’s rally just told you are shows he hosts and they are amazing.
@@professionaltobogganist8448 I didn't get it either.
He was amazing in the endless honeymoon
I find him meh as a comedian but he's an interesting dude. I was expecting the usual "let's complain about cancel culture shit" but he's got more going on
Just so you know Jimmy is one of the hardest working comics in the UK, and is constantly touring even when successful.
And he’s basically the face of comedy quiz shows for us (the UK). God knows how many he’s done now, must be a dozen different shows
I actually never liked him up until now. Going back in my morals. Just never liked him but I’m glad to be proven wrong. He seems so genuine
He also openly pushed for vaccines in his act so F*** J**** C*** all over the world. I don't care if Joe Rogan or Queen Elizabeth invites him. Oh, wait what? She dead? My bad.
Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Carr! Oh, I thought it's Jimmy Dore.
KZhead is not only Americans, so we know
The level of people Santino seems to be able to ‘hang out’ with is nuts
We’re gonna hear it from Bobby for sure 😂
Mr Hollywood for sure
Sorry fam, but active vaccine mandate proponents on your pod are not on my list. Your guest pushed for mandates actively in his act. Where I am from we say "You know what to do with the scum". Take care too. I don't care how many great movies Polanski made.
Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Carr! Oh, I thought it's Jimmy Dore.
@@jakubgadzala7474 get lost you weirdo
Jimmy Carr, one of the best comedians out there....hats off on the great interview Andrew..
GET A JAB
@@jakubgadzala7474 get a job
This is one of the best episodes ever. I love Jimmy Carr. What a great convo
This episode was too short. Jimmy was a great guest and as always you were an awesome host.
He also openly pushed for vaccines in his act so F*** J** C*** all over the world. I don't care if Joe Rogan or Queen Elizabeth invites him. Oh, wait what? She dead? My bad.
Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Carr! Oh, I thought it's Jimmy Dore.
Whiskey ginger could only afford an hour 🤣. Great pod tho. I was excited to see him on.
It's almost inspiring how sociable Andrew is
Why? This was like an AI amalgamation of every comedian’s podcast. No new ideas, same tropes, utterly mindless ego-wanking of their career 🥱 🥱 🥱
These guys hit the ground running and just didn't let up the whole show. Just naturally flowing conversation that's consistently engaging.
Jimmy loves to talk. He sort of drives the conversation. Nothing wrong with that.
Seeing UK and US comics in one space is for real like a crossover to me 😂😂
Calling Santiago a comic is a stretch
Yeah I'm loving it
To see Frankie Boyle chatting with Bill Burr would be hilarious. Both funny, both vulgar, both close to the bone and both ginger. A Scotsman and a Bostonian both at it would be a joy to listen in on.
Jimmy Carr is a hero of mine and an absolute universal comedy legend. No one on earth eviscerates hecklers like this guy. Hearing him in this interview was incredibly refreshing to know that he's the exact same person on stage that he is off-stage. The evergreen and hilarious Santino is also ascending the ranks as one the premiere podcast interviewers. Pure joy to watch. Thanks for this.
The brown m&m story actually first came about from van halen, they played lots of school gyms in the early days and their stage show weighed a lot and stages collapsed under the weight. The request for the brown m and ms was about half down the rider list and below that was the list of things needed to reinforce the stage so if the M&Ms were not separated then the band knew that the stage was not set up right
I also thought it was a Van Halen story. Maybe Bon Jovi picked it up as well or maybe Jimmy just got that fact wrong. Either way the point remains the same and was clever move on the part of the band.
Santino and Carr. 👍👍👍👍much love from Australia
It's a nice surprise to realise Jimmy is so popular and appreciated around the world, I genuinely thought he was mainly known in the UK
Yeah same man, would love to see him on YMH.
I love Jimmy Carr, his humor is my wheelhouse
He sold out 20,000 seats for three nights running in Perth, Western Australia. I'm not sure how many bands could do that.
The wild thing about Carr is he always gives insights into the art that no one else does. He has a unique brain that is fascinating and thoughtful differently then others yet relatable, much like his comedy. A real pleasure!
Especially the Obama-Trump comedian dichotomy
Wish Jimmy was on more pods
jimmy carr is so incredible. best episode ive seen. a little funny, a little serious, a little slow, a little rapid. yall killed this!
i think this is the first time i've ever seen Jimmy on a podcast. Love all the panel/comedy shows he does in the UK, his standup is great too.
He did an episode with Happy Hour and Have a Word Podcast. Both well worth a watch
He was also on "Diary of a CEO" which was funny and sad and just brilliant. Jimmy is a really insightful guy
First time without a suit for me lol
I first saw a short of this interview, and because I had never seen Jimmy on an American podcast, I thought the short was just a clever bit of editing at first. I'm glad it's actually a full legit conversation, Jimmy is one of a handful of British comedians who can hold their own in the american scene.
I love the way Andrew is able to really connect with people from all over and I think a lot of has to do with his ability to notice cultures and customs (and do very good accents - to me it shows how much he takes in).
Usually a ginger thing, we're unusual so we just get really adaptable early in life 👍
I’m brown haired and but now basically bald and am very good at accents and notice lots but I do think you have a point. It’s the orange.
This is a thing with Jimmy too. He's well respected amongst comedians- he's been doing it for decades and is an excellent writer but he gets along with so many of the comedians of the UK because that's his job- hosting multiple panel shows packed with the UKs best comedians.
stop it ,its not like he has regular people on here lol he has comedians and artist theres enough to talk about one and the same with his guest. it's not hard to relate and start and hold conversation.
He has managed to make me like people i thought id never enjoy hearing talk. But i just love meghan Trainor now so here we are
One of my favorites - love Jimmy Carr🤘
He also openly pushed for vaccines in his act so F*** J***** C*** all over the world. I don't care if Joe Rogan or Queen Elizabeth invites him. Oh, wait what? She dead? My bad.
Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Carr! Oh, I thought it's Jimmy Dore.
@no name why the fuck you commenting this on every comment? Get a life bro jimmy carr won't hurt you.
@@jakubgadzala7474 So sad Jimmy Dore need some one to copy past a comment about him to be noticed.
Jimmy is a legend. Such a prolific comic. So many specials and each special is so dense with jokes. Also a genuine chap! Great conversation.
Fr Jimmy is probably the single most consistent comic I've ever come across. He never does that Chappelle thing where you sit there for 20 minutes of drawn out storytelling to get to one half decent punchline: he just keeps the jokes rolling the whole time and they're consistently high quality
18:05 "I think fame has replaced heaven in a secular world" Wow. Damn Jimmy.....I'll be chewing on that one for a bit. So well and succinctly said.
Such a pleasure this conversation, unmatched, thanks so much! Could listen to hours of this, hope you guys can meet more - America meets UK/Ireland.
Great to see so much respect between two different generations of comics. Best Whiskey Ginger I've seen. JC is a legend.
Jimmy and Al Capone have something in common, not surprised he is a hero of his!
Please, please, please do this again.. absolute ball listening to this. You guys are perfect together ❤
Jimmy is a true comedy legend that probably goes quite unnoticed in the US. The man works his arse off, I went to see him near where I live in the UK and he did 3 hours. Brilliant he was.
I'd say fans of comedy at least know of him. Around the south, from my anecdotal experience , we consider him that classy british fella that will tear into a crowd's ass like tissue paper. I love it.
@@wish-i_warsocks2074 had the pleasure to see him live in my home town and he roasted us for hours and it was glorious
Wow wow wow this episode is pure fire absolutely incredibly interesting.. its awesome to hear jimmy just talk ... hes really a extremely intelligent man. And santino is on the same level... this has been the best podcast iv heard and watched this year so far ... keep up the fantastic work santino ......this was so cool and interesting to watch thankyou.......
Jimmy’s great. I love listening to his insights, very curious thinker
This was an awesome conversation by two wonderful people! Loved every second
Jimmy Carr Superstar!!! He's dead on about how trying standup enriches your experience of intaking comedy. It's impossible to understand until you do it. Looks so simple but holy hell it is not - even if you've been cracking people up your whole life. Endless respect for the great comics with big hearts like these two ❤❤
I love Jimmy so much!! ❤ An absolute legend
This is the only time I’ve actually appreciated Jimmy Carr. He’s a very well read and intelligent man and it shows here.
This set up is so amazing!! It's so high end looking.. love it!!
I have never opened an episode of Whiskey Ginger so quickly. This is gonna be good.
First time seeing a podcast with Jimmy and he is amazing as his comedy, well done santino for bringing such a legend
This is by far your best episode & or guest yet!! Only thing I could even start to complain about is I wish it was longer. I hope he comes back for another episode.
Great chat. Seeing Jimmy live in Montreal in..2018 was maybe my favourite standup set ever I've seen
Jimmy is a gem. What a legend.
Yes he is. Not only a treasure in the UK but also in the States.
As a brit this was great to hear these 2 together... Andrew is sooo dry and the best when doing podcasts.... Jimmy is a great professional and amazing what he does but Mr santino is hugely underated and him and Bobby are a perfect marriage..thank you guys xxx
One of the best episodes of the pod. Pls have jimmy on as often as possible. Your conversation was incredibly enjoyable
Belgium here, we've known of Jimmy Carr ever since he started on British TV. But I've gotta give it to you, Andrew, you really succeeded to reveal the most authentic Jimmy out of all the other podcasts he has been on. Must have been the combination of great whiskey and that ginger sparkle. ❤
I'm only 15 minutes in and it's already an absolute pleasure of a podcast. Jimmy Carr is the best.
How great that he said he wants to come back. I will be watching again when he does. Great stuff.
Please do this again, this was absolutely fantastic. Always loved Carr, this kicked it up to another level.
I love these conversations.
Loving all the British guests 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
What a delightful and refreshing experience, thanks to the both of you
Great conversation, many thanks for sharing.
Wow Andrew is really getting the best guests recently, good on him, heavy hitters from across the pond I love it!
Jimmy's voice is just a pleasure to listen too
This might have been my fave ep. Love Jimmy so much!
That was a banger between you two guys. Looking forward to round 2 whenever it happens.
Really great guests lately. Good work y'all
The Bobby Lee joke Carr made about the catwalk comedian caught me off guard and it was hilarious 😅
Same here. Since Bobby doesn't do specials & he's been concentrating on his sobriety I didn't think this Irish-British legend would think much about Bobby. So when Carr mentioned Bobby a couple of times I was in shock then laughing.
Such a fan of both of you... This was a great afternoon. TY...
Can't wait for a latenight part 2. I could see these boys getting wild together
Jimmy Carr knows the real brown M&M's story! Although the band was Van Halen but still I've never heard anyone else get that right!
53:00 is a deeper thought said out loud than I've heard on any podcast
The two of them had such great chemistry, would love to see them together again but much longer haha
You guys have ridiculously good conversation chemistry, this pod flies by. Thanks for the great content as usual Andrew!
This was such a nice pod. It’s nice to see Jimmy is a real boy.
Awesome!! Loved this convo so much I immediately rewatched.
Annnnd I have no life
Always gives a good conversation Jimmy Carr . Adaptable to anything
UK in the house !!!! Edit : Jimmy needs to come back 💯
This is my first time seeing Jimmy Carr on a podcast and its making me want to see him on some more
Check out Have a word podcasts with Adam and Dan
This set up/episode is (chefs kiss)
So cool listening to you guys hang out. Great episode.
This was so intriguing in so many levels, thank you guys!
You guys really got some chemistry that’s just very digestible and enjoyable to partake in
Two of my favourite comics 👍
A really amazing episode! Thoroughly enjoyed the conversation!
Jimmy is a savage!! Love to see this. So many badass British comedians they just have a different vibe. Also their TV shows (called panel shows) are fantastic and HILARIOUS! Would I lie to you, cats does countdown, are the first I fell into but there’s a ton. All of Jimmy’s Netflix specials are awesome too. You’ll have to pause the show to laugh hahah Enjoy!
it's so nice to see a couple of comedians have a chat without sucking down on cigars
I Love Jimmy Carr!! Two of my favourite comedians together, such a treat!! Awesome show Tito Cheeto
What an excellent interview that was! Loved it, thanks liked and subbed ❤
Excellent rapport, this could have gone on for another hour or two and I would have been quite happy haha
"Tears of a gin man" was such an expert level santino joke.😂
Andrew, you & Jimmy are such souls of the art. This was such a great hour to listen in on 🤘🏽 Cheers gentlemen
Idk man this is the first whiskey ginger I’ve ever watched/listened to is it always like this cos it great.
Jimmy should be on more podcasts he's a national treasure
Heavy hitter, so excited for this ep. Andrew you’ve been killing it with the guests lately- keep it up💜
I love both these gentlemen. A truly great podcast episode. Top 10 hands down
This makes me so happy!! First Bert interviews Russel Howard, now Andrew x Jimmy…I love seeing the uk and USA comics cross paths!
Santino is an incredible conversationalist. His lack of ego allows the conversation to flow and his questions are not forced.
Damn Andrew LVLing up, respect for having us British on too.
When Jimmy mentioned "dry heaving," I lost it. It's exactly the same with lecturing.
Good chat this... Would happily listen to this weekly.
Anything Andrew Santino is an instant watch for me 😌
I never comment on anything but you seriously need Jimmy on an episode of Bad Friends! His crowd-work and ability to put people down would be amazing in a room with Bobby!
Jimmy feels so much more relaxed here than his recent PR round. I like it.
Great interview! First exposure the JC in a casual setting. Seems like a great dude. Thx
Oh shit, I love Jimmy. I'm glad I got to see this upload so soon after it got posted
Great pod, there is one thing I think Jimmy is wrong about, he said he is charismatic and devoid of charm but I feel like it's his charm that let's crowds feel instantly comfortable with some of his darker material. This also comes through in every interview/long-form conversation I've seen with him on KZhead. Diary of a CEO comes to mind.
Jimmy is so chill in this, I was working one day and bumped into him on my lunch break in a charity shop, when he was doing a local show just reading a book casually 🥰
Love Jimmy. Delivered a Starbucks to him a couple weeks back and he left a nice tip. Thanks Jimmy. Loved hearing him on this podcast.
I have the biggest smile possible whist watching Jimmy Carr be recognized.
the next time you're in the UK you need to go on the Have a Word Podcast! you'd love it, Jimmy seemed to like it too when he was on
The one with Romesh was fuckin hilarious too 😂
@@BobsYirUncle oh yeah, definitely. i’ve been on their patreon for two years, the best money i spend every month
Very cool! Also, I've never seen him not wearing a suit lol
amazing episode. thank you
FYI...wasn't Bon Jovi who did "Brown M&Ms" thing, it was the mighty Van Halen years earlier
how good the episodes are comes down to the guest, it takes two, and this might be my favourite episode. brilliant
Jimmy knows so much about prohibition because that was the year he agreed to become a vampire
