How to Connect up your First Socket
In this video I demonstrate tips for terminating sockets during the second fix (connect up or wire up). The technique works for wiring up both double and single sockets to BS1363.

If I mark the copper slightly (only slight grazing) will that affect the resistance of the circuit?
It would be negligible. Accidentally scoring the copper can make it weaker if it’s a deep mark . It’s not found much these days thank goodness,but accidentally scoring or marking copper clad cable made it very weak and wood easy snap .

pointless doubling over when there are 2 cables going into the socket.
Maximum contact area best, don't care what the current or size of cable.
You got the shakes in this vid? A good point for any apprentice, beginner. Do not cut and expel copper wire over a socket like he has. Fast way to cause a short.
