A group of parents of the Boston Marathon bombing victims didn’t want prosecutors to seek the death penalty as you legally have to use all your appeals, and that would put everything back into the media each time, and give the guy that killed their family members even more of the notoriety he wanted.

Like for example "we will be safe from Covid at a point in time" cause it has happen before. "We will move on and have a better day". So to be honest yes I have faith but when it is about people who have been in jail for something they didn't commit and they just want to throw someone in jail for assumption of crime without looking at all evidence...this is where people wouldn't have faith and they will know the pain of suffering for no reason by false conviction. That is also where I believe you wouldn't have faith either cause most times when people are in somewhere like that they have no faith...just hoping for them to see the evidence on a broader scale and to let them go and see their family and friends. Why should we put faith in something that puts criminals in jail but also put falsely accused people in jail?

And no matter what there will always be someone who abuses power one way or another. Especially in prison which is treated as out of sight out of mind with little repercussions. And even so people feel the “brotherhood” of system as more important than the justice like the judge in sunnys case. Using the system to fight the system probably worried some that they had lost power.

But at the same time the system is obviously imperfect so you can't trust that innocent people won't be convicted for something they didn't do. That's why I can't support the death penalty knowing that there is a possibility, however slim, that someone innocent will be wrongfully convicted. Putting judges and people in the hand of a power that they can't control, fear. Justice is here to put not a punition but a correction. Killing someone doesn't correct them, on the contrary, it doesn't let them be corrected. It's a question that has been raised by so many people and authors like Victor Hugo. That's why it isn't something that can be thought only in the penalty district. It's a power, a media, an economic, a morale district question

So many influencers allegedly “cared” about Brandon Bernard after his murder, but not a single one of them even tried to spread awareness about Dustin... and I’ll bet they won’t even try to talk about Cory Johnson, Earnest Jackson, or Julius Jones (and TONS more). Isn’t it funny they only talked about Brandon when it was some sort of “trend”? If you’re reading this, please spread these names. Try to save the rest of them by signing petitions, spreading awareness, call your governor or even the White House. And if they all end up dead anyways, don’t let their names be forgotten.

You are free do disagree about my perception, but I've had a couple of instances that made me perceive Irish culture as proud, brave and strong and wholesome.. so when he said that, that's what I thought :) I'm aware it's confermation bias, maybe he also said a lot of "non-irish" things, but hey, that's what sticked to my mind. I happen to be Italian and there are a lot of things about my culture some could say I fit in, and some I don't. But when I get loud or when I sound angry to others while I'm only discussing something and they say "that's so Italian" I'm going to laught at it, because we do tend to be louder then central and northern europeans (ON AVERAGE). Does that mean there's no quiet Italian? Nope. But does that mean that I definitely can recognize fellow Italians in a foreign town sometimes even before they open their mouth or I understand what they say? Yes, and it's funny. I believe you have that too with people from yours and different countries, and I personally find it enriching to be exposed to different ways both in mentality and communication. As long as I don't force you into a flat idea of a person based on it.

Although those people were released and escaped death row (thank God) their whole lives are still thrown away.
